  1. Shadowrider, in the initial start pressure box there is a drop down menu, I just picked the lead start load pressure. Every other bullet i have made using this program comes up almost dead on when shooting through a chrono. I know lots of people have shot this load I am just mind boggled at the screen shot. I am wondering if there is a problem with this particular load make up in the software. If anybody knows please let me know. Thanks
  2. The jacketed load is the factory starting point (no lead bullets in the program) but the numbers for a lead load were inserted. IE changed the starting pressure and bullet diameter and overal length. If i start with 3.5 grains it is still over the max pressure. Thanks
  3. I am using quick load program with 4 gr of clays and it says that it is an unsafe load. it exceeds maximum pressure by a large amount. does this look right to anybody? it is a 230 gr. lrn at a col of 1.245. It just does not jive with any load manuels. Thanks
  4. +1 Knowledge is your most important tool. I started off with Powers jig, but I didn't like it. The piece I've drawn an arrow to tends to bend. When you are stoning your sear, it'll cause you to stone an uneven surface. what brand would you recommend? Thanks
  5. I agree that you needto know what you are doing first, but I also think that you have to have the right tools. Thanks
  6. I was thinking on going with the power custom stone set and jigs. They look like they are idiot proof. Thanks
  7. Thanks glad to hear, only want to order the tools once and use them on all of my 1911's /2011's. Thanks again
  8. Looking at buying some tools to do a few trigger jobs. My question is: Is all the geometry the same for a 1911 9mm, a .40sw and a .45 acp? what about a 2011? IE the angles for the sear and hammer cut. Thanks in advance.
  9. need some help with tuning an STI 40 cal mag. it does not feed properly about 40% of the time and jams the gun. it never makes the slide stay open on the last round after shooting but will stay open when an empty mag is inserted and manually slid open. any help is appreciated. does any body know where to get after market mags for this gun? thanks again
  10. just to shoot minor. this will be a starting load. Thanks
  11. Thanks for the info. I looked at the hodgdon site and I figured that i would back it down abit because it is a plated.
  12. Does this look like a safe starting point? Berry's 124 rn double struck. S&W M&P 9mm OAL 1.115 CRIMP .376 TITEGROUP 3.8gn They case size with a Dillon case gage, they drop into the barrel with out touching the riffling and they hand cycle through the gun with no issues. Thanks in advance
  13. I ran some through my chrono with an average of 809 fps with 4.6gn of TG. i am wondering how I can reduce the recoil and still keep the speed? Thanks
  14. A chrono should be here next week. This should help. Thanks
  15. Thanks for the info. This is a powder that was recommending to me. Starting to wonder about it....
