  1. I purchased the 4.25" and then bought the 5" upper, so 1 frame and 2 complete slides. I like both!
  2. Trijicon not an option? I have 2.5-10x56 that is rediculiously clear. I do have a 5-25 pst viper that's also very clear.
  3. Take mag out make sure nothing in the chamber out gun on safe open upper then set trigger. You could remove upper and "mortor" lower and check for hammer movement. Then attach upper , set trigger and repeat mortor, open upper and recheck hammer. A way too dry cycle without live fire function test. You can check without it being on safe also. It keeps you from manually charging too see if it acts in the same manner as live fire?
  4. Are they ppu fmj bullets or pulled ball ammo from american company? Western seems too post data for military bullets.
  5. Having an AR platformed pcc with reset issues with a standard (designed for AR not pcc). I've been a fan of CMC and their PCC triggers for AR guns. They (CMC) told me that there was insufficient amount of metal on the bottom of BCG for proper reset from standard type AR triggers. After installing 1 of their PCC AR triggers I've hadn't had anymore reset problems.
  6. That's easy enough, but 1 and done... I'll pass. In his 2nd method the problem could be the distance from the gas shoulder on the barrel can be off (too far or too short) depending on gb variations. I use a bore scope too check alignment.
  7. I don't own any from those companies, let alone a complete firearm. APF, aero and faxon have done well for me.
  8. Clamp on should seal best over set screws, but can move away(not staying aligned) from the gas port if not properly tightened. A gb that goes on snug will seal best regardless the style.
  9. I agree on what most gave posted before me? I have adj gb, adj BCGs and adj keys. The adj gb is and has been a better choice. I have also run a lmass BCG with a lighter buffer, but used a stronger buffer spring as for it increased dwell time for softer shooting. No adj gb was used. SLR and Odin adjustable (not set screw type) GBs are the better 2 I've used. Going mid over carbine is usually a better choice?
  10. Never hurry and make even pulls.....pause, then push. Maybe keep more than half full has helped me.
  11. Dillon is great on cs for sure! They replaced the indexing star on a 35 year old 550.
  12. Everything but the springs. Not sure if the flexing would keep the finish?
  13. Go to 2A and get drilled pins and lite weight Bolt release and mag release. Get a xanthos builder from 2A. I've built a lite weight AR10 6.5CM (20" barrel) with a build weight just over 6#.

  15. I 2nd his statement. Price isn't too bad and quality has been good also.
  16. Don't use the tanker style ultradyne, it's ok? LR and Max are the 2 I use. My 300wm thanks me!
  17. Also a heavy brake will reduces recoil, but adds weight big time.
  18. One reason I work off of volume and not pressure, especially in less than 16" barrels.
  19. Yes that is where they go. Glad it's fixed! Bigger or thicker? Oh well, never mind it's fixed.
  20. I've used faxon, rca, brownells with great success in conjunction with jp lomass rifle buffer, springco spring and various adjustable gb at rifle length and mid gas systems. With the rifle buffer you're stuck with a rifle buffer tube. The advantage of the jp scrs is it has a spacer for a2 buffer tubes with it. I think the AR15 comes only in 1 option where as AR10 has standard and heavy configurations. The AR15 jp scrs is spring weight adjustable (5 pack). If using a carbine tube Odin has an adjustable weight buffer in lite and heavy adjustability. The springco might be the yellow spring? SLR and Odin would be my pics for gb. NiB/NP3, chrome and nitride will be better than phosphate.
  21. There are shims out there. They are used for gas tube barrel nut timing. When torquing the nut delta rings can misalign making the gas tube difficult too fit into the upper receiver. The other without delta rings (barrel nuts with handguard screws) sometimes need too be shimmed for proper handguard alignment. AR15 and AR10 use different size shims. Check with a gunsmith and see if they have them in stock?
  22. Red dot at best. Going 500 yards with 110 to 135 gr bullets from a 16" barrel should be fine.
  23. Line of sight seems too be the only difference? Both being subcompacts it's a possibility? I've used a g21 and put a g20 slide on it with no problem.
  24. Do like Jerry M by using a cement mixer
