  1. Grant also has the Worlds Supply of spare for the P9 / Tanfoglio
  2. CZMike, Not breaking too much new ground, but tread carefully. I like teh shpe of CZ and Tanfoglio Frames, but prefer a 1911 / STI / SVI type setup for how I build mine. I have an old (real old) Tanfoglio in 9mm that has been converted to an Action Gun, after someone butchered it into an IPSC gun, and totally screwed it up. I put a new barrel from Tanfoglio in it and had it fitted properly. I have an Old Hillver Shroud and that took some fitting as it was too tight a fit and caused the frame to shift, fit and fettle it all in. Accuracy is acceptable, 2.5" at 50. Frame to slide fit not perfect but runs 100% with factory ammo. Reloads have to be pretty on to ensure 100% function. If I was using a CZ and working up from there I would look at a used Shadow (1 or 2) and fit a new KKM 6" barrel and have it properly fitted. Alluminium Compensator or Titanium, not too big as it is not needed to be huge with minor. Factory Stainless Guide Rod and sort the internals out, fit the shock buffer to take some of the hard hits on the slide out. Get rid of the DA first shot by fitting the TS trigger (if it goes in). Drilling and taping the CZ frames is difficult, but not impossible. The Czech Mate Frames are bigger but will already be fitted for a scope mount and could be modified to take a Shroud easy enough. But seeing as they for IPSC and not Action Pistol fit is not perfect but they will be easily modified. I don't like tightening the CZ or Tanfoglio frames. It is difficult and not always 100% successful. The correct fitting of the barrel is far more important than super tight frame to slide fit. Certainly don't shy away from the job, ,just be aware of the likely pitfalls you will encounter. They are no more difficult to overcome than what you will find on a used 1911, it will also have problems, it is just that they are better understood and more accessories are out there to help you along.
  3. I have older Aimpoints. Newer ones not so good for what we do. UltraDot also very good. Take a good look at the Trijicon MRO, be aware they are not cheap, I have used one for about a year. Clean Bright Dot. 2MOA, 3 or 4 would be better for some. Green would be better if they would just make me one.

    Farts

I would call that good shooting under pressure.
  5. Post it again just to make sure it was in bad taste. Extra opinions are needed. Yours may be faulty.
  6. Never heard it called that before.

  8. Last year Smith & Wesson were not even asked. It is nowhere near what this match should have. Title Sponsorship from Midway and the cash they fronted was closer to 100K at one point.
  9. Looking good. I have had a few issues with Kimber lately and have stepped back from them. The only one I own now is a 1 of 1000 Target Match 45ACP that shoots 2.75" of fa sandbag at 50y with 200gr SWC or 185gr Zero JHP. We recently fitted a .355 6" KKM to a new Taurus 1911, according to my Gunsmith it was a better fit that the job we had done for another customer late last year on a 1 year old Kimber Stainless Target in 9mm. Excuse the low flyer caused by Operator error (me) rest of group is seated at 25M off a tool box covered with a blanket. 115gr Zero at 1130fps. Shoots better with 125gr once we worked the load out for the customer.
  10. Call Grant and see if there are any left at the Embassy. I am sure each tube came with the triangular plug with cords attached.
  11. I ran out of fingers just trying to count the last year or so. Warren, how did those lights work out?
  12. The only way I am going to get a raise is if I wear taller shoes. Worst part is I am self employed
  13. She was 60ft in front of the target, not even I could hit her that far in front, by accident
  14. I wish I had the time. Up until last week I was not even coming for the Cup.
  15. Crap. The thing is they could run this match by just providing staff. The Sponsors will front the prizes and maybe some cash. The entry fees should cover cash prizes. But don't hold your breath.
  16. Grasshopper here. If I don't know what I am doing, you guys can't guess either. But the paperwork is in at the ATF as we speak and I have spoken (nicely) to the lady at the ATF. I have toys to collect. Plus I think Travis needs a new set of skid marks in his undies.

    Short funny jokes

    Laying under a car, Jack.
  18. Seeing as he did not fire a round, he is clearly DQ'd and therefore not entitled to a reshoot.
  19. 1911 not allowed in production in anyway, so irrelevant. USPSA rules and IPSC never applied here. What is relevant, is revolvers. Stock 6" 686 has always been allowed in Production, to stop the match becoming auto-centric. What was wrong with the rules we have / had. Autos won in the past. You can change the barrel in an auto to any brand that is available, but due to the "no exterior mods" rules you can only use a factory barrel in a revolver. Rule changes need to be published minimum 13 months before the Cup they apply to. That is finish one Cup and those rules apply, 1 year to get ready for the next. Or in the case of many, not fecking go!
  20. Well yeah, kinda, maybe, oh feck!
  21. The problem there is that we have Bates City and Michigan on the same weekend as it is. What I need is more time, lots more time. Arrive three weeks BEFORE the Cup and do the run into the Cup.
