  1. On what? Surely you mean the dates?
  2. You can do a WAPC on one mover. If shot over three days you can run 180 people, as long as there is no messing about by the competitors. Be aware that the WAPC is not due to be held in the US until 2020 or 2022. So even the NRA has enough time to get a range together.
  3. I like Kevins idea for the shoot off. But the winner of the match is the man / woman who shoots the best Wednesday through Friday. The Shoot offs are for extra prizes for the top 8 overall, and top 4 every other division. You start on ZERO on Saturday!
  4. 2018 is fine, but where is important. Years ago someone from either Australia or NZ tried to get the NRA to announce the next WAPC at the end of a WAPC, pretty much how everyone else does it. Just never seems to happen. Most places would need 2 years to ensure that they can get all the crap together for a match, helps people plan and save for travel. Get a fecking calendar together guys.
  5. Then get rid of the Saturday shit. New format low attendance, any further clues required.
  6. Itchy, Tahiti / French Polynesia - local rules on handguns are a disaster. How ever New Caledonia has a couple of clubs that shoot IPSC, they would be better. But be aware Pizza and a beer for lunch will cost about $40US, the fishing is pretty good, plus you can hunt Rusa Deer most of the year. Reloading components and ammo is very expensive.

    Short funny jokes

This is Bob, he has no arms or legs. Knock knock. Who is there? Not Bob!
  8. I know 3/4 ply stops 32ACP.
  9. Up to 4.5grains of Clays / AS30 with 158gr in 357magnum is perfectly safe, 4grains load in 38Special cases perfectly dangerous. 3.2gr to 3.5gr with the 138WC in a 38Special case is certainly hard to beat as Greg says. Shoot it first and see how it performs before consigning it to the scrap heap, groups are all that matter. You can weld up the holes in a Smith top strap, easy enough to do. But I would mount off both the frame and the barrel in any event. K-Frame gun not going to fly either in my opinion, it is not like they are making shit loads new these days, anything cheap will be more hammered than what you have. If shooting open, and want a new gun, look at the 686 plus (7 shot), same frame as 686 with the added advantage of the extra round in case of brain fart. Plus a barrel job will be the same for anything K or L. Personally i like the idea of seeing how what you have got shoots first. Then make an informed decision based on all the ideas being thrown about here.
  10. Bigger gun next time.
  11. Polyagonal Rifling works best with Jacketed Projectiles. If you intend shooting wadcutter then it had better be plated of jacketed for the poly barrel. Traditional lands and groove rifling will work with anything. Many in Australia who shoot revolver use a 135 gr Wadcutter, 1:18 will work for that.

  13. The theory was (and may still be) that it is every third WAPC is to be held in the USA. But that is not what has happened. 06 - Australia, Sydney 08 - NZ, Hamilton 10 - Australia, SSAA Sydney 12 - Germany 14 - USA, Kentucky 16 - NZ, Whangarei. As it stands to play catch up they are likely to run one in the USA, hopefully somewhere other than where it was in 2014. Louisiana would be brilliant, but they would have to push the Bianchi Cup back a day to make sure people had time to travel back to Columbia, if they held it the weekend before, as in the weekend that Bates City and Berrien Springs hold their Regionals. Or push the match one week earlier than Bates City match. However they decide to do it, it should be confirmed January one 2017, so people have time to prepare and the club has time to hold at least 2 regionals before they do the worlds.
  14. VV N320 now available, or will be by Tuesday, so anyone needing it for their loads let me know. Zero 9mm 115gr JHP limited numbers. Working on 125gr JHP as we speak. May be cutting it fine with those but you never know.
  15. Currently loading 9mm with 115gr JHP at 1100fps for WAPC. Will post pictures. Current OAL is 1.125". Anyone need anything different before they arrive? Now is the best time. Machine will be adjusted to 38Super by end of week.

  17. As entries are still floating in and a few special arrangements may be made for gun sharing. The shooting times will not be fully confirmed for a while yet. Some have been set, but if there are any problems please note that they are provisional.
  18. I have always gone slightly heavy on the bullets with a revolver to get the best accuracy. With me driving it my stock 686-3 shoots 2" at 50 with anything 140gr and heavier. I know the best revolver shooter we had here was using 140gr wadcutter and that toy of his would drill mouse holes in a target at 50 all day long. The difference between 125gr (1000fps) and 158gr (800fps) lead on the mover is 2.25" more with the 158gr with both going at 125pf. I prefer the feel of the heavier bullet in a stock gun. The 125gr feel snappy off the ground and seem to want to lift the whole gun up off the ground before rolling back in the grip. The 158 are a lot more rock and roll and tend to lift the muzzle more when standing but it comes back pretty quick, and was very soft off the ground at 25 and 50. Tends to turn the gun more, but not an outrageous amount more, the 125 tends to lift the whole gun straight up before a small amount of muzzle rise when standing. Each has its merits and problems. But in general i think with a revolver the 140gr is a good compromise, velocity will be 900ish, so you are just on the outside edge for mover. The heavier the bullet the less ft/lbs energy to make any given power factor, therefor the 158gr will generate less actual recoil in the same weight gun as any bullet that is lighter. You use less powder of the same burn rate to make the appropriate velocity for 120-125pf. At the end of the day accuracy is the king, if the guns feels greatt to shoot and groups 10" at 50 you have one problem, if it shoots 1" at 50 and jumps about in your hand like an angry cat that is a different problem, but just as difficult to deal with. 2" at 50 and just a little movement that requires moderate effort and traing to deal with is really what you are after. In Alan's chart below I have highlighted the likely lead differential you are looking at at 25yards (12rounds) on 1/4 of the match. I think how it recoils of the barricade and prone for plates and practical are the more important thing to deal with. I think 140 - 158gr will be the best way to go in K or L frame. 125gr just too mich trouble. I simplify it to 9000 / velocity { (distance [75ft] x 120)/velocity }. Whilst Alans is the original formula, mine is just lazier. 1000fps = edge of target at 25.
  19. No! You are Australian, therefore the time you will be shooting will be immediately after sundown, the lights will be off and the target will be on backwards, how else am I supposed to beat you? As an aside, more sponsors on board, plus hopefully we will get a side match together for giggles.
  20. Anything not being given to Australians . You want to be shooting before 3pm as the sun drops a little after that and can be towards the shooter somewhat. on Practical and the left hand row of plates.
  21. Most countries have consumer laws that cover this eventuality, some States have specific rules that apply to that State, some products are except or have further restrictions. However there are obligations on each party and they change as the sale and delivery process advances. When I sell a special order firearm that has to be brought in from a Distributor then a deposit is required. As long as it is not a special order from the maker then the DIstributor has leeway at his or her end and discretion to allow a return. However in my shop, I believe that if I take a deposit, the sale is final at the time the order is placed and confirmed at the factory this relates to Factory Special Order, non Regular Distributor Stock or Import from Overseas Factory / Distributor and specifically for that customer, then that deposit is mine, how I deal with the gun, what price I get for the gun after that is my business, and it says so in the order form the customer fills in or if they order over the email I send a copy of my Special Order Terms of Trade. Do you think I got burned once or twice? In fact one of my guys screwed up and I am stuck with a special oreder gun after the customer cancelled the order in line withthe agreed policy and he failed to cancel the gun with the Distributor, so every now ond then my arse takes a hit. For Normal Distributor Stock Items that are not regular stock for my shop, I ensure that when I order a firearm I let the Distrbutor know that this is supplied on a Sale or Return Basis and I will pay the freight both ways, if the sale dies my ass for a small amount of money. I will usually not take a deposit in these circumstances as all I will be out is $20. Given the amount of times this happens per annum for a gun that is easily resaleable bythe distributor or myself I am rarely out of pocket. The guys who usually give issues are the ones that want something real special and slick and want it for the cheapest price I can do it for. When they let me down they pay.
