  1. All ranges are where they have always been. Plates is still 4 rows of plates although they may have been modified, repaired or replaced. A raised flat berm is now on the left of the plates. Check in area is now covered and back of range is wired off from roadway. Berm behind has been modified and covered in chipped rubber to prevent erosion of berm. Mover is same position they have now replaced the string mover with a rail system from Action Target, shooting pads have been relyed a few times so range is now essentially 6" plus higher overall. Barricades are now has four lanes, tree in picture by lane one has gone. Berm at back is much higher, full turning target system in place. RH Side of range extended and retaining wall of concrete lego blocks at back and RH Side. Practical has 4 sets of turners, LH Side (Stream side) is Lego concrete, between Barricade and Practical a raise concrete pad with covered check in area. 2 Extra movers on the upper range setup, both full rail systems. Car park as showed in photos is still there. More trees for shelter and somewhere for the ticks to hide.
  2. I will let Clair know that you are still having issues. PayPal has not been as useful as it usually is.
  3. 50lb to 70lb per bag depending on ticket. If your limit is 50lb it is $100 to go to 70lb per bag on United, Thereafter you will cry.
  4. Be careful, measure how far the Germans are from NZ.
  5. Winner gets all we can drink.
  6. All, Sponsors that need acknowledgement. KKM Precision Safariland Both have committed to Sponsorship for a range, Barricade for Safariland and either Mover or Practical for KKM. Both companies have supplied considerable goods for prizes. Dillon and Protocall Design, have supplied product for prizes. We have more offers on the table and will announce one other range Sponsor next week. Title Sponsor still under negotiation, they were absent from the Bianchi Cup, but we are onto them to come up with something. Please support our sponsors and we are grateful for anything that they have given us. Regards
  7. Kim, I am working with Alison to get more bullets here in time. If Starline pull finger we will have cases as well. Paul has a couple of presses, plus we will have a couple more setup to go up to the range. My Dad should have a clear spot in the garage for more presses if he gets his shit together in time.
  8. All, Hotels are getting booked out in Whangarei, please get your hotel sorted fast. Even if you just get a hold put on a room. Kim, Federal Primers OK, VV N320 not so. I will check and see what we have arriving. I have just got TightGroup, 231, Clays and CFE Pistol in.
  9. I was wondering when you were going to chime in. Get your entry in asap. Good shooting times are filling up fast.
  10. Jimmy, Know how you feel. Will you need any ammo for practice etc. For anyone coming down and needing ammo or components email the shop at sales@seriousshooters.co.nz and we will see what we can do. Hodgdon Titegroup, HP38, just arrived in stock. Clays due soon. Vihtavouri will be a problem we think.
  11. Remember, keep left and give way to anything bigger than you.
  12. Warren, Typical, rule say you may not grasp the barricade, nothing about grabbing the gun by the barrel. More difficult on a traditional Semi-Auto I will admit, but I can't see the rule that says you can't hold a gun by its barrel as long as it is safe. The NRA could not organise a farting contest in a frat house.
  13. Usually 7 to 10 days. But lately it has been likely pulling teeth to get any info out of them. Now you know why we call them Plods.
  14. The only solution for the grip on shroud thing is to make sure that you hand is only in contact with either the outer edge or the face (towards you) of teh barricade. I think if you were in contact with two surfaces and the "shroud" that could too easily be construed as grasping the barricade for support. Not "resting against" or "contact only for support" The advantage of a wheel gun for this would be that the sights already sit higher in relation to the bottom of most sensible grips. A long integral platform for sight mounting. Aristocrat on top of stick shift would be an easy mount up. I personally think that an Aristocrat rear sight and mover front sight would be better and easier to fix, plus getting a really nice grip for a revolver that works in metallic is more likely, and more stable.
  15. Somethings to be considered. Peep sights not allowed in metallic for a starters, sights must be post and notch type, as in traditional iron sights. Moving the line of the sights higher above the centreline of the barrel will give you some of the problems with POA and POI at short ranges that Open Guns have and possibly slightly more so. I will have to think on that more. Overall the firearm will be much wider and centre of firearm will have to be further away from barricade for that match. You will have to lean out much further at 25Y and 35Y on the barricades. May un-balance you somewhat. You will certainly have to get the gun much further out if you brace your knuckles against the barricade. The whole idea does need looking into. I know I had some serious issues getting them to agree my gun was legal when I put the front sight on just the barrel and not directly on the slide, let alone completely off the gun itself.
  16. You can bring as many with you as you want to leave behind. ITAR control is about items leaving the US not accompanied. You need to check, but last time we had the WAPC a lot of guys brought extra cases with them just in case. There is no restriction on quatities of ammunition, cases, projectiles or primers that you can bring with you as far as the NZ Government is concerned. They are more worried about the correct paperwork for the guns. Primers are classed as ammo. So no mor ethan 5kg combined ammo and primers, do not pack primed cases. The airlines really frown on that. I suggest loading your match ammo at home and bringing your 5kg, (11lbs) per IATA regs, of ammo with you. You could then fill the rest of your suitcase with spare brass for practice and load down here. Cases from ammo shot at the match stays on the ground, any cases you use in practice you will be able to pick up and reuse.
  17. Yes I do! Titegroup is in very short supply here right now and I have smuggled 16lb aside specifically for WAPC competitors. We also have CFE Pistol and a small amount of HP38. Vihtavouri is about he same price as gold right now. Cost of freight from the Eu to NZ is appalling and supplies are limted. Hopefully we will have the new ADI powder, that are essentially Hodgdon Clays and Universal CLays back in stock this month, subject to shipping. Zero bullets we are busted on and I am working on that. We may have a good stock of Polymer Coated lead projectiles in time for the shoot. Cases are in transit I hope. We are at the mercy of the State Department and ATf at present, that has not gone to plan A. But we have 3 1/2 months yet.
  18. Not a chance. The pros only go if there is something in it for them, that is why they can now bring their own guns. Not what was intended when they started this match I think.
  19. Look who is in charge and who will be looking to win. This is for their benefit only.
  20. BadgerJoe, Set the time for 5 seconds, you lose an extra second when trying to rotate to a moving target. Set up exactly like shooting a mover target, turn to the right or left, essentially waiting on a live target. Draw to a midpoint between the barricade and the target when the timer starts and swing to the target. That then forces you to be in line with the X before you get to the target, you will not be coming up the target as you draw, and this more accurately simulates how your sights will arrive at the target. The less time will account for the fact that the target is not moving.
  21. Did you count your fingers. No, sorry, that's right, they don't take fingers, just an arm and a leg.
