  1. I shoot a few USPSA matches a month. I'm just curious what type of competition shooting you're doing shooting 500+ rounds a week. As far as the other shooter saying lasers are such a huge advantage, go shoot an action match using your laser and let us know the results.
  2. Is there major/minor scoring in some PCSL divisions?
  3. When it gets down to actually shooting the matches how differently do people shoot PCSL vs USPSA? How much of the time are shooters putting one round on a target vs two. Or any other differences that occur.
  4. At least PCSL has their own rule set instead of essentially shooting USPSA without affiliating. The PCSL matches are quite a bit different aren't they? Last year I paid for a 5 year membership good till 2027. I'm 70 now. I hope to still be shooting then!
  5. There's always outlaw matches if enough shooters feel the same way.
  6. I've just always looked at it that if I'm going to regularly participate in a sport, even if they don't require membership, I'm going to support that sport by being a member.
  7. In my area for some years they had a SS vs Production only match. It was pretty popular. Most shooters who shoot other divisions also have Production or SS guns. But eventually they just started allowing the other divisions to get more shooters signed up.
  8. That's true for some people. But are they really going to travel to the match to shoot what they don't like? There are also people who love shooting SS and it would be their preferred division but not when there are so few shooting it these days. They shoot other divisions in their locals.
  9. I've shot the WSS match several times. Some of them were about 225 shooters. Lot of fun.
  10. With an indoor range like this where you are very limited in set up shooters need to agree that they won't do things like this. Or the match just goes away.
  11. I've mostly shot 45s for years. For 9mm i just started with the 135gr coated and stayed with them. Now that I'm shooting 9mm much more I'm thinking of giving some 124s a try.
  12. I have 3 matches per month within an hour of me. I do see shooters online who shoot 6-7-8 matches per month. I could see that many matches burning someone out sooner. We aren't in a large population area and the monthlies aren't hard to get into. It does help to have reasonable expectations on your match placement depending on the amount of work you out in. Shooting different divisions keeps it interesting. Sure, I'd like to shoot better but apparently not enough to actually put in the work to get there. I enjoy the matches and people I shoot with.
  13. I've shot several matches now in LO with an optic. In dry fire practice at home with an occluded dot I can see the target with the dot on it a lot better. Almost everytime. But at the match I'm having a bit more trouble. I'm not shooting occluded at the match. I really need to get out and practice some live fire from draws to transitions to get some confidence.
  14. WhenI first started USPSA in 2008 some ROs were not familiar with the requirement and legality of manually lowering the hammer to shoot Production with a gun like a da/sa CZ.. But now it's been common for a long time.
  15. That's 110 yards, 45 of them not in a straight line, firing 30 rounds along the way. With the fastest time 21 seconds. No rounds fired in the first 30 yards . And no one thought to video it?
  16. I'd have to see those distances measured to believe it. How many bays did it use?
  17. One of our local matches acouple of years ago had 4 distinct 8 round positions. Starting unloaded. Shootin SS major either throw in an extra reload or slidelock every 8 rounds.
  18. I went in Sportsmans warehouse and bought 1000 Federal spp for $60 plus tax. First primers I've bought in years. My wife said you've got primers in the closet, under the bed, don't buy anymore. When the salesman asked for my number and saw my mame he said, I know you. We played football together in junior college. As soon as he said his first name I knew exactly who it was. That was in 1972. Before going there I picked up a CZ75B compact from another place.
  19. *thumb rest [generic]*. I was trying to figure out what he was talking about.
  20. As long as you have other guns to shoot I'd definitely take plenty of time investigating and handling as many brands/options as you can. Since it sounds like you're willing and able to spend enough to get what you want.
  21. This isn't SASS champion Lead Dispencer is it?
  22. I enjoy shooting major. It's not full house 44 mag or anything but it's a little different challenge then shooting minor. Nothing to beat your chest about but enough of a difference to make it distinct including the scoring. But I also enjoy shooting minor in LO now.
  23. I've shot USPSA for 13-14 years. Started with IDPA but gradually preferred USPSA. Lately I've shot a couple of IDPA matches. Fun for a little changeup. Looking at the gun pictured it seems funny that today that's an IDPA gun.
