  1. I use a couple mags for my reload that very rarely hit the ground. I have enough mags for the first mag that I can just switch out for a clean one because they nearly always hit the ground. If it's a small match with small squads I just switch dirty for clean. But with bigger squads I'll just clean the one that hits the ground because there's plenty of time to do it.
  2. My post was a response to a previous poster who said the doublestack mags were more forgiving then singlestack mags. That hasn't been my experience.
  3. For me 1911 mags are much more forgiving then double stack mags. Stock double stacks are also more forgiving then when you add extended basepads to them. That's when they get more sensitve to dirt.
  4. Welcome. Yes, plinking can be fun but I have much more fun competing.
  5. At this point if you're shooting in lo cap divisions in local matches there are usually very few in those divisions. Rarely will there be more then one or two in SS, sometimes 0.
  6. In my area it isn't a big deal. They might get more reluctant to change if too many shooters started asking but I haven't seen a problem.
  7. What level of PF are most Open shooters using for steel challenge?
  8. If the 3 divisions were combined, SS, L10 and Production , there might be a decent number of shooters for a division. With just SS and L10 there won't be enough to matter.
  9. Nice! Howdy from Northern California. 100 miles north of Sacramento. I've shot matches in Clovis before.
  10. Thanks. The area I live in is typically 100+ degrees in the summer and I haven't had a problem. My pf has crept up to upper 170s and could have been a little cooler weather at a couple of majors. Now I'm giving Limited Optics a try shooting 9mm minor. Need to do some testing with afew different powders before shooting a major match.
  11. As an avid SS shooter for years I've thought it might work combining Production, SS, Limited 10 with the 10minor/8 major scoring. Only because of the dwindling participation in those divisions. But now with Production going to 15 that kind of messes that idea up.
  12. On our local dusty, fine dirt ranges I'll generally use the same mag to reload on the stage because I rarely have to drop it to the ground. My first mag I'll nearly always clean after picking it up. Just one mag, only takes a minute. Right now in the winter the ground is more of a hard compacted surface and unless the mag hits the ground nose first, require less cleaning.
  13. No. But it takes some time shooting a different type of gun to really give it enough of a chance to determine which gun you actually shoot better with. You can't give a different gun a fair chance shooting a couple of mags through it.

I guess just how they compare to the other popular CZs, shadow 2, etc. I have a standard cz75b and Tac Sport.

Checking out a CZSPo1 shadow for USPSA CO or LO. Anyone using one? I searched but couldn't find much on this specfic model.
  16. Yesterday a stage had an opening between walls with a barrel stack in the middle that made you move a bit to see all the targets. Best 3 per target. Then you moved left and right to the ends to shoot the remaining targets. I was able to transition between targets faster then I ever have before while using an optic. Felt like a good step forward.
  17. I'm shooting LO with a CZ tac sport I already had. I bought it with a 40 upper for Limited but it came with a complete 9mm upper that I hadn't really used. Put an SRO on a dovetail mount and it's working well for me. This is the first optic I've used and I'm starting to get more comfortable with it. It's a fun change from shooting SS and Limited and I did enjoy shooting major.
  18. I shoot a few USPSA matches a month. I'm just curious what type of competition shooting you're doing shooting 500+ rounds a week. As far as the other shooter saying lasers are such a huge advantage, go shoot an action match using your laser and let us know the results.
  19. Is there major/minor scoring in some PCSL divisions?
  20. When it gets down to actually shooting the matches how differently do people shoot PCSL vs USPSA? How much of the time are shooters putting one round on a target vs two. Or any other differences that occur.
  21. At least PCSL has their own rule set instead of essentially shooting USPSA without affiliating. The PCSL matches are quite a bit different aren't they? Last year I paid for a 5 year membership good till 2027. I'm 70 now. I hope to still be shooting then!
  22. There's always outlaw matches if enough shooters feel the same way.
