    Cz compact grips

I've got them on a few CZs and my 1911s. I was considering cutting down some old VZ grips if they fit correctly but just went ahead and ordered these.

    Cz compact grips

Thanks. I went ahead and ordered some Lok grips for it.

    Cz compact grips

I've got a CZ75B compact (steel frame) on the way. Is the opening in the grip frame the same size as a full size? Will I be able to cut off the bottom of full size grips to fit the compact? Once I have it in hand I'll know but if not I can order compact grips now.
  4. Have any of the shooters who have had keyholing problems with syntec had similar problems with coated bullets you've reloaded yourselves?
  5. I just used a dovetail mount for my CZ tac sport 9mm. I did have CZ custom mill my CZ75B slide for optic plate. We'll see if I eventually want the tac sport slide milled. New to optics.
  6. I did this shooting my worst stage ever at a match. First stage, second day of a 2 day match. I was first shooter up with fresh targets. At the first position I shot some targets then failed to turn to shoot 2 targets that wouldn't be visible as you moved to the right. Then when I got to the 3rd shooting position I forgot one more. Never went brain dead like that before. And I never realized it until I saw the fresh targets with no holes. 6 misses, 3 procedurals, zeroed the stage. No problem with the rest of the stages that day.
  7. Some people may just be lazy generally but for many people it might be they just don't prioritize making the time to practice and work enough to have a chance of making M or GM. Not a priority. It's still on the individual either way.
  8. I have an MTM plastic magazine can that holds 16 1911 mags. During a match after a stage I can will push down on the follower a couple of times. If it feels gritty I set that mag aside and pull out a clean one. Then I can clean them at home. I have other cases that hold double stack mags. I just clean the one mag per stage that I let drop while reloading. It only takes a minute. I just shot a 10 stage level 2 match and used 3 mags total, cleaning one as needed.
  9. In our area in the hicap divisions shooters pretty much clean their mag if it hits the ground at most clubs. It's not just a matter of being overly cautious either with the experiences I've seen at our matches.
  10. Do you shoot outdoor matches regularly? The ground at some matches is hard or gravelly and doesn't get in the mags much. But some of the ranges end up with piles of powdery silt. I once barely saw the corner of a mag buried in a pile. My 1911 mags or 10 round Production mags are a little more forgiving if a little dirt gets in there. But full capacity double stack mags with extended baseplates are much more finicky when it comes to getting dirty. People who only shoot at indoor ranges can get away without cleaning. I don't see how you can shoot outdoor matches regularly while cleaning mags once a year.
  11. I normally have good stage plans and execute them pretty much to my level of ability. I've forgotten a target once or twice. But this weekend I had my worst stage ever. I was the first shooter on our first stage at 8am on day two of our match. I had a plan and had run it through my mind many times. At the start I shot the first few targets but didn't turn to shoot two more targets that were visible from that position. Instead I moved to the second position and shot those targets. Moving laterally to the right I forgot another target. Plus usually at some point I'm aware that I didn't shoot my plan but I didn't notice until I saw the first fresh target with 0 holes in it. Followed by a couple more. 6 misses, 3 procedurals, zeroed the stage. Completely brain dead on that one. The rest of the match went completely fine. To top it off at chrono I just made pf it at exactly 165. Usually 175-177.
  12. I just look at any classification system as a way for most shooters to measure in general their improvement, gradually moving up the ladder hopefully. Yes there are some out there either grandbagging or sandbagging but that's not the average shooter. If you're honest with yourself it does give you an idea where you rank amongst all shooters along with your performance at bigger matches.
  13. Would the ELO system be meaningful for the average shooter. Or would it only work for comparing those close to the top?
  14. Do the winners of state, regional or area matches have to be from those places?
  15. Nice! That's a lot of shooting in one weekend! Good luck Sunday!
  16. I have primarily been a 45 shooter in competition. Some 40 also. But I reload everything including 9mm. Now shooting in LO using 9mm, I'll be shooting a lot more 9mm and may start looking into buying loaded 9mm when I see the best deals. I still have primers and powder but may conserve them a bit more.
  17. Target focus. Shooter A has excellent vision and without a prescription is capable of having a clear front sight focus but uses target focus so the front sight is a little blurry. This works well for him. Shooter B has bad uncorrected eyesight and cannot see the front sight clearly. When he uses target focus with only a distance prescription or no correction at all the front sight is extremely blurry. Wouldn't shooter B need to have prescription for front sight focus to get the same result as shooter A?. Otherwise they sre not getting the same view. This is with iron sights only.
  18. All of my handguns have been set up to have what I think is a reasonable trigger pull for self defense. About 4 pounds. Including the guns I compete with. The one exception is my CZ Tac Sport that I shoot in USPSA. Never measured it but no more then 2 pounds I believe. But I have no issues using it. It came with that lighter trigger pull.
  19. 8.6.1 General Ammunition Carrier Rules 8.6.1.1 Instead of using ammunition carriers, shooters may carry spare loading devices in their pockets or belt. Shooters may mix carry methods but they must be concealed from view at the start signal. 8.6.1.2 Ammunition carriers may be modified to meet IDPA rules. 8.6.1.3 Magnets worn on belts or in concealment garments may not substitute traditional carriers. 8.6.1.4 Spare ammunition is considered stowed when it is secured in an approved carrier, or a pocket. After the start signal, magazines optionally may be stowed inside the belt. Spare or partial devices are not considered stowed in a shooters hand, armpit, mouth or similar scheme. 8.6.2 Magazine Carriers 8.6.2.1 Must be suitable for concealed carry and all-day continuous wear. 8.6.2.2 Must be worn on an IDPA legal belt. 8.6.2.3 Magazine carriers must be worn in a location on the belt so that the magazine is completely concealed. 8.6.2.4 The same exact location for magazines, magazine pouches, and/or ammunition feeding devices in pockets must be used for every stage in a single match, unless otherwise specified in a stage description. 20. This. Plus in the locap divisions you more often have to go one for one on your shots to avoid standing reloads. Shooting Limited or LO I can shoot more aggressively. However, I am just a B level shooter. Probably affects a higher level shooter less.
  21. I haven't been shooting IDPA for years, mostly USPSA. Shot a local IDPA match yesterday. Shooting CDP I begin make ready with 2 mags on belt, fully loaded mag and barney mag in pocket. At make ready I load with the Barney mag remove it and finish loading with the full mag from my pocket. On one stage I used the Barney mag then finished loading with one of my belt mags. When I went to reload a second time I had no more mags on my belt to load for one last target. Would it have been legal to use the loaded mag in my pocket during the stage? No big deal, just curious for future reference.
  22. Not that I've ever noticed or even heard of.
  23. Of course. It's common knowlege that IDPA matches are completely dominated by shooters with Wilson guns!
  24. Is every division going to be seperated by wml or not? Or just for fun list them separately on only the low light stage? How would you make separating the two work?
  25. I've shot 3 or 4 matches in LO with my CZ Tac Sport 9mm. I have a regular CZ75B with an optic that could be my LO backup or shot in CO. I also have a 40 upper for the Tac Sport and could put an optic on it and develop a 40 minor load and use it for a backup. I'll wait though on the 40 because I still might want to shoot some Limited.
