  1. I've mostly shot 45s for years. For 9mm i just started with the 135gr coated and stayed with them. Now that I'm shooting 9mm much more I'm thinking of giving some 124s a try.
  2. I have 3 matches per month within an hour of me. I do see shooters online who shoot 6-7-8 matches per month. I could see that many matches burning someone out sooner. We aren't in a large population area and the monthlies aren't hard to get into. It does help to have reasonable expectations on your match placement depending on the amount of work you out in. Shooting different divisions keeps it interesting. Sure, I'd like to shoot better but apparently not enough to actually put in the work to get there. I enjoy the matches and people I shoot with.
  3. I've shot several matches now in LO with an optic. In dry fire practice at home with an occluded dot I can see the target with the dot on it a lot better. Almost everytime. But at the match I'm having a bit more trouble. I'm not shooting occluded at the match. I really need to get out and practice some live fire from draws to transitions to get some confidence.
  4. WhenI first started USPSA in 2008 some ROs were not familiar with the requirement and legality of manually lowering the hammer to shoot Production with a gun like a da/sa CZ.. But now it's been common for a long time.
  5. That's 110 yards, 45 of them not in a straight line, firing 30 rounds along the way. With the fastest time 21 seconds. No rounds fired in the first 30 yards . And no one thought to video it?
  6. I'd have to see those distances measured to believe it. How many bays did it use?
  7. One of our local matches acouple of years ago had 4 distinct 8 round positions. Starting unloaded. Shootin SS major either throw in an extra reload or slidelock every 8 rounds.
  8. I went in Sportsmans warehouse and bought 1000 Federal spp for $60 plus tax. First primers I've bought in years. My wife said you've got primers in the closet, under the bed, don't buy anymore. When the salesman asked for my number and saw my mame he said, I know you. We played football together in junior college. As soon as he said his first name I knew exactly who it was. That was in 1972. Before going there I picked up a CZ75B compact from another place.
  9. *thumb rest [generic]*. I was trying to figure out what he was talking about.
  10. As long as you have other guns to shoot I'd definitely take plenty of time investigating and handling as many brands/options as you can. Since it sounds like you're willing and able to spend enough to get what you want.
  11. This isn't SASS champion Lead Dispencer is it?
  12. I enjoy shooting major. It's not full house 44 mag or anything but it's a little different challenge then shooting minor. Nothing to beat your chest about but enough of a difference to make it distinct including the scoring. But I also enjoy shooting minor in LO now.
  13. I've shot USPSA for 13-14 years. Started with IDPA but gradually preferred USPSA. Lately I've shot a couple of IDPA matches. Fun for a little changeup. Looking at the gun pictured it seems funny that today that's an IDPA gun.
  14. I'm wondering if it would still even things up more vs iron sight major/minor that we know favors major. In SS the major 8/minor 10 is a pretty good balance. But not as good a balance in Limited.
  15. I think Ron is suggesting a division allowing 40 major iron sights and 9mm minor with optics. That could be an interesting trade off.
  16. It seems pretty simple to me. Lots of people want to shoot cheaper ammo. With the divisions now there are more divisions to compete in shooting 9mm at no handicap to major scoring. A lot of shooters, especially newer shooters in the last few years, have never shot guns with major pf ammo. I enjoy shooting major pf in SS or Limited but now even limited is losing many shooters. I'm trying LO now too.
  17. The legality of starting cocked and locked vs hammer down depends on what division a shooter is in. Some shooters that have shot da/sa guns in production/ carry optics for a long time may continue to shoot that way in LO, for example, even though they could start single action with the safety engaged.

    Cz compact grips

I've got them on a few CZs and my 1911s. I was considering cutting down some old VZ grips if they fit correctly but just went ahead and ordered these.

    Cz compact grips

Thanks. I went ahead and ordered some Lok grips for it.

    Cz compact grips

I've got a CZ75B compact (steel frame) on the way. Is the opening in the grip frame the same size as a full size? Will I be able to cut off the bottom of full size grips to fit the compact? Once I have it in hand I'll know but if not I can order compact grips now.
  21. Have any of the shooters who have had keyholing problems with syntec had similar problems with coated bullets you've reloaded yourselves?
  22. I just used a dovetail mount for my CZ tac sport 9mm. I did have CZ custom mill my CZ75B slide for optic plate. We'll see if I eventually want the tac sport slide milled. New to optics.
  23. I did this shooting my worst stage ever at a match. First stage, second day of a 2 day match. I was first shooter up with fresh targets. At the first position I shot some targets then failed to turn to shoot 2 targets that wouldn't be visible as you moved to the right. Then when I got to the 3rd shooting position I forgot one more. Never went brain dead like that before. And I never realized it until I saw the fresh targets with no holes. 6 misses, 3 procedurals, zeroed the stage. No problem with the rest of the stages that day.
