    Bolen Pad

I don't know what you're putting this basepad on but from experience a 4mm on a 170mm sv tube will not fit the gauge without mag mods, a 3mm fits with ease. Perhaps a useless bit of info ??
  2. I primarily shoot open. I only switch back to irons for a change. Last month I shot Limited for the first time in quite a while. I hadn't practiced with that gun or even dryfired it before the match. The first stage was very enlightening with the recoil impulse almost a surprise during every shot. It seemed to take forever for the sight to drop back n the slot. After that stage everything seemed to be ok even though my speed wasn't where it should have been.
  3. My practice area is 6 miles but the outdoor matches I can shoot are all 1-1 1/2 hour drives each way. The company is always good though !
  4. After reading both threads, it looks like a new technique for me to practice..........
  5. I've shot dozens of rounds after my wife washed them in the washing machine and they all have gone bang.....
  6. John, do not fear, probation only leaves a mark on the few that have been a frequent vistor. Welcome to my house.
  7. Happy birthday everyone
  8. Whoever thought something could be worse than a Prius.....
  9. It's my "house" and the door is always open...........
  10. After a while you'll be able to glance up and know exactly how many pulls you have left before the buzzer....

  12. Anyone know of any classifier matches coming up???
  13. A few thoughts: That's a good deal on the Kennedy box but sooner or later you'll wish you had some deeper drawers. Bigger is always better, I recently purchased a large Mac box and already is getting full. If you work on cars a good roll around cart is very handy, it stops you from walking back and forth every time you need something simple. Even though they function ok, I'm not a fan of the barbecue grill style of boxes now being sold at the big box stores. Any extra space on the top of a box will eventually get used to stack sh#t on, never will it be used as workspace. When it comes to tool boxes and tools for that matter, you get what you pay for.
  14. we are shooting Sunday, right??
  15. You can just add a forbidden action to the WSB. Cool stage!!
  16. Thanks everybody.........any idea on how to get off AARP's mailing list??
  17. Damn, someone's up early or late, one or the other. Thanks, Spanky, I'm finally a senior..........again:surprise:
  18. I'm with ya' George, but in all four cases I referred to in post number one, these were either CRO's or very experienced RO's ie: I've seen them at previous Nationals.
  19. Glad you're ok Bart. After getting pelted a half dozen times last year, I was frag-free this year.
  20. So, the competitor didn't holster his gun before walking towards the target with the suspected Mike, as BOZ indicated? The gun was holstered as the shooter took several steps away and rearward from the RO. Had the gun not been holstered the RO would have been scrambling to get behind the shooter or at least yelled stop. So the shooter holstered a hot gun? Yes, perfectly legal during a COF.

  22. Yes, except the overlay/scoring issue, Like you guys, he wasn't there to see for himself.
  23. Which was it - damn near or touching the perf? Sounds to me like the system worked. RO made a call, you questioned it, and after using the overlay the call was changed in your favor. Yes, the system basically worked, however at the Nationals, you would have thought the RO would have pulled out an overlay without even the shooter requesting it. Overall I thought the staff was great, and after working five A-6's in a row, I fully understand the hard work involved. That's the reason I never left a stage without shaking every RO's hand and extending my gratitude for their hard work.
  24. Locally, we don't have the "close enough" or tie goes to the runner policy. Had the RO pulled out an overlay to start with, I'd been ok with that, but to call a Mike without checking was not appropriate. No, neither one of us signed the target. Good point.
