  1. RMR has 124 JHP for 10.2 cents each. They have about a 2 month wait I think though. Never heard a bad thing about their bullets. Could be worth getting in line Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks for the help. So it seems like you’re suggestion more bell and to make sure the bullet is going in straight? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. For my plinking ammo (all I do for 223) I: Sort out LC brass (I use this for 300 blk brass and it is the only headstamp I use for it), resize and deprime, dry tumble lube off, put everything through my Giraud trimmer to make sure everything is as uniform as possible (some brass gets trimmed and some doesn’t), run everything through my Dillon super swage, then wet tumble with pins as i like shiny brass, then finally I do a quick once over when they’re dry and check for stuck pins, major dents, and cracks. This is kind of a long process, but most of it is done while watch tv or listening to podcasts. I also don’t shoot much 223, but I process brass in big batches so it’s honestly not too bad. Hope that helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. They are no longer taking orders Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Agreed. Only reason I didn’t buy any was because I couldn’t find any sort of reviews on them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I think I have seen this mentioned other places also, but you are able to replace the hold down die with an expanded and achieve the same affect correct? The expander in station 3 doesn’t effect the way the swagger works in any way? And vice versa the swagger doesn’t affect the expander? Figure it might be tricky with the brass being pushed up into the die by the swagger Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I have some bayou 180s I can try. I haven’t tried any of them since getting my U die so I’ll try that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I have found one or two that are tighter, but nothing crazy. I don’t think it’s tight enough that I would say it’s out of spec because I still have rounds that fail plunk. If everything plunked and lots were still failing hundo that would a different story. And yes, clean bore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. If you like them for limited I personally would Give them a try. I thought about trying them before just for kicks and having purple bullets. Since they’re in stock it sounds like a decent excuse to try some. You’ve had good experiences with them though? No leading in your limited gun? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. 0.4220-0.4230” but most are at 0.4230” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. In WIN, WINCHESTER, Blazer, RP, and WMA cases which is all of what I use for 40. No other headstamps used Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. If I were to load a batch that had enough crimp to properly pass would I simply be looking for more smoke, leading of the barrel, and possibly loss of accuracy? Or is there something else I should look out for to know the rounds are good to go or not good? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks guys, I guess I’ll try a little shorter and see what happens. Hopefully that helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. .400, no I haven’t shot the over crimped rounds only rounds that looked like the one pictured above Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. But if I put less crimp on the round then the running at the case gets worse and even more rounds fail. Unless you meant 1/8th turn more crimp which is where, if not a tiny bit more, where the mouth stops rubbing the chamber and passes plunk easier. This however puts a large groove into the bullet, probably 2x as deep as what is on this bullet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Coal should be good to go, the majority pass plunk at 1.142” iirc, so I dropped it down to 1.135” and haven’t had any of the rounds hitting on the bullet because none of the marker is being taken off the bullets. I did have that problem at the very beginning though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Duh... I’m using Dillon seating and crimp dies on a Dillon 650. Brass processed separately Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I’m still new to 40 (~200 rounds loaded so far) and I’m having some problems with my ammo passing my hundo gauge, and passing plunk in my TSO. I started using the lee U die and this removed all problems involving bulged brass, but now the case is rubbing at the bottom of the bullet and at the case mouth. I am using 200gr blue bullets loaded at 1.135”. I have my crimp set to what I think should be the max with a slight cease showing on the bullet when pulled. However, this doesn’t seem to be enough and in order to get the round to pass with no marker taken off at the mouth when doing plunk test, the crimp is way too tight. Here are some pictures Bullet from above case with marker removed: Anyone have any suggestions for me for the next steps to take to try and resolve this problem? I figured the U die would end all of this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. What did you use to do this? Drill press or mill? How precise is the process? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Another thing is some places have a “rewards program” like blue Bullets for instance. If you win a match, division, or class and record it and post it on social media somewhere they will give you gift cards for their store Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I also had a problem with going too short and having feeding issues with blue bullets 147rn. My solution was to switch bullets to the FP/TC profile and that fixed the problem. If you’re in love with a certain bullet you may not want to do that, but it was an easy fix for me because I only ordered a sample to try before figuring that out. If I had a couple cases and ran into the same problem I might go for a different solution like you did. The big reason I don’t team my barrels is because I don’t want to have to send my gun out to he worked on, and even though I could probably handle it, I don’t want to it myself either. So that’s why I personally went for changing ammo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I also load short. I find the gun that is the pickiest and load a couple hundred rounds based on that gun and do a quick check in others then do large runs as long as everything passes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Good to hear. Excited to hear a report on how it works Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. When is it supposed to arrive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. With the 10% discount they were extremely competitive with Blue Bullets and their 10% sponsorship program. I think they were $0.0675 and Blues were (and still are for the time being) $0.065 for 147 9mm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
