  1. Its not bad, although I prefer pasters. In central Texas the air is on fire 9 months out of the year, so that is the least of our problems.
  2. Edited per mod comment above. Apologies as I don't know how to delete.
  3. Also just common masking tape works, but I prefer pasters myself.
  4. Just an operational note. If shooting ESP you might inform the So the first time you are shooting. While legal, it is unusual and the SO may think something is wrong or might annoy you that you forgot to load your mags to 10.
  5. Are they forecasting increased manufactured ammunition before then? Directly to the topic, already seeing matches running light on people. One location that tends to run shot heavy steel matches has set up the option to only shoot half the match stages. This is despite some clubs still being shut or limited due to Da Vid.
  6. Can definitely agree on that. It seems to work in that at local competitions there are still many Glock/M&P types present.
  7. Many departments have Glock 34s on their permitted firearms lists. CZs might be more of an issue. On the flipside our department pistols have flashlights. To be clear, I am not a proponent of any change. Just because one division is more popular than another division, does not mean that division has to change. PCC and revolvers are examples.
  8. So basically removing the weight limit and relying on the production numbers requirement. I could understand that actually.
  9. I would imagine a break away garment of some sort - assuming if safe - would still cost you valuable time. I could be wrong. If you do that, you need to tell the SO first so he doesn't stop the stage thinking there has been a serious problem.
  10. Yes the mistake I made was initially taking those off to clean everything thoroughly. We acquired those after the NEO and I was used to dissembling everything and there was a videoing doing that at the time.
  11. Yes I would buy one pretty quickly if reasonably priced.
  12. I imagine so. We have a fully fenced back yard and now that the wiener dog is so old he doesn't go off the patio, there is available space, and wife is ok with the idea - promises not to laugh.
  13. Well thats a bummer. Of course most things firearm related are out of stock. Not a competition level .22 shooter, so full disclosure, but I have Buckmarks, Rugers, Beretta Neo and a Victory (we shoot them until they break...) Wife and I liked the Buckmark. It has a different grip angle than the Ruger Target. Takedown is MUCH easier but found the allenscrews would need retightening every 50 rounds or so and you can't super tighten the screws because the top plate cracks. Both Brownings and Rugers are good .22s. I think it really comes down to which feels better in your hand, now that there is the model IV type. (note my favorite was the NEO actually-space gun!) Remember to get one already compatible with COs as that is your intent.
  14. My apologies for the stupid question, but how do you dry fire outside in a yard situation? Are you nailing them to the fence or how do you set that up? Old fart minds want to know...
  15. This might be helpful. It basically puts a screw in allowing you to remove the bolt assembly with an Allen wrench, without all the weird hassle. I don't know how good it is. https://www.eabco.net/assets/images/products/006-ssk.jpg https://majesticarms.com/product/speed-strip-mark-i-mark-ii-and-mark-ii-22-45/
  16. Forgive my ignorance, but what other US manufacture of ammunition is there at this point (all parts of as in Federal for example).
  17. At our falling steel match Saturday we usually pull 35 - 45 shooters (bays limit to three squads). It was done to 20 shooters, mostly the hardcores.
  18. As an old fart SO/RO, be speedy if you want but I need to see an empty chamber.
  19. Respectfully, what are you trying to say? Are you arguing shooters should act more respectfully to better shooters, better shooters...er "professionals" should be more polite? I don't understand.
  20. I've done that multiple times. Helpful for a new shooter. For a regular shooter its their opportunity to hang their head in shame. If the gallery thought that was a problem, that would be the immediate point the gallery can RO the rest of the day.
  21. I am way down the food chain from you, but a senior citizen comrade has substantially jumped his game, even in the time of Covid, by doing that. Its also helped his health as it helps him work out.
  22. Agreed CF, its just a convenience thing for me. I'm just a lazy cuss. Inversely I went for years just wearing the same IDPA gear with some additional mags. I shoot Production / SSP so there's no real difference (at least before they agreed you could shoot a pistol in production weighing ~ 90 lbs if desired.
  23. I'd proffer the one thing you might straight out dislike is belt rules. I can't wear my easy to put on USPSA double belt to an IDPA match. I'm spoiled on that thing now. A lot of that is due to IDPA frequently having a higher mix of lower level shooters. Thats why I do well. But thats not universal. In our area, probably a third of the shooters are also USPSA/ falling steel / whatever's playing today I am in shooters.
