    P320 X5 Thread

The X5 MSRP was $1k+ when released. I wonder what the "street price" of this will end up at.

    P320 X5 trigger options?

My GG kit is sub-3 lbs with only dry firing. My only complaint is the break, which is a light thud, but only a small step down from the OE P320, which was a moderate thud.

Fits 17 rounds, does that mean a third baseplate?

    X5 vs Glock 34

Nice, I think that's where I was, except skipping the SSI grip ($250 for 3 oz!), and getting tungsten rods instead of brass. Who made your holster? I have the Blackhawk Omnivore that's the universal TLR-1 fit, but it has a little more friction than I would like.

Will Grayguns sell you the TRS separately?

    X5 vs Glock 34

Details on the heavy frame? I'm in the very beginning stages of a limited build, which I decided to do not specifically because of any superlatives, but mostly because I wanted to stay within the P320 platform to not have to keep learning new manuals of arms.
  8. Federal does several loads that are loaded specifically to hit a few PF points above the production/CO limit. They're sold as their Syntech line, and have red polymer bullets (vs. the purple which are hotter to match their defense ammo).
  9. I wonder what the weight differential would be. I'm at 36 oz, would like to find those extra 9 oz to get up to the 45 oz CO limit.

    X-five holsters

Have you tried some sandpaper or a Dremel? I have the Comp-Tac, it's fine. I prefer injected molded plastics over Kydex because there's potential for Kydex to lose it's shape if left in a vehicle in the summer time.
  11. Have you tried tried other +P rounds? Winchester whitebox NATO is about half the price of the Inceptor ammo.
  12. Ben Stoeger stocks the +5 TTI basepads.
  13. Thanks. Springer is doing 10% off till the end of April, just placed my order there.
  14. Any preference for one over the other?
  15. Have you considered that you're using it wrong? Oil is supposed to get everywhere, grease is supposed to stay in place. Two different products for two different purposes.
  16. The club I was at had an early start with the sun at our backs, and it severely hampered my ability to see the dot when all I saw was red glare from the coating on the lens. I'm hoping polarized lenses can solve this. Any good ones that are comfortable under earmuffs?
  17. Was browsing around YouTube and came across some of Yong Lee's videos from last year, and one viewer noticed that he switched out the X-5 grip frame for the P320 frame, which he confirmed in the comments. When the X-5 stuff came out, this "had to have been an upgrade" since it was newer, right? I never looked back, until today... I dug around my boxes and pulled it out, and I think I might go back it it as well. Just a stock grip and dry firing, it *SEEMS* that any gains from higher beavertail isn't really as noticeable as the extra palm swell versus the flat sided X-5. With grip mods, I could see it pulling even further ahead. Am I just flip flopping because I saw someone who shoots better than me make that change?

    P320 X5 Thread

What's w/ the blued finish of the second one? Did they not do nitron coating for a few runs or something?
  19. The 15 round mag won't lock in an X-5?
  20. Aside from ease of disassembly, they're all about the same, and the TTI pads are really easy to disassemble.
  21. The Trijicons are overpriced, and they only make one size. Most everybody runs the Dawson Precisions, which offer more options in terms of height, width, and they will exchange sights for free if you don't like your POI.

    A few M17 questions

Given that the trigger guard is the same across the range, most holsters will take everything as long as there's enough depth. So you can either get the longest possible and have the option to go all the way from X-5 to compact (subcompact has a rounded trigger guard which is unique), or get a holster w/ an open bottom, that will let the longer slides pass through. The latter runs the risk of popping the pistol out if you knock the muzzle when bending over or something though.
  23. Eh, I doubt the Acro P-1 is going to be too popular for competition. They're trying to build a bombproof housing, which means keeping the optic housing thick and a narrow window.
  24. I saw lots of bickering, and not really a final verdict, so I figured I'd ask the people who are actually running the pistol... Has any RO asked you to (or DQ'd you for not) lower the hammer into the FULLY down position, or is using the decocker to start in a half cocked position deemed acceptable?
