  1. Looking around for a 3 gun LPVO. Narrowed it down to the Kahles K16i 1-6 with 3GR reticle and Swarovski Z8i 1-8 with BTR-I reticle so far. I am open to other alternatives as well, but looking at these mainly right now. As far as I understand it, Kahles and Swarovski are sister companies, and the K16i seems very similar to the discontinued Swarovski Z6i, with the 3GR reticle being similar to the BTR reticle (Swarovski) and the G4B reticle (Kahles). The 3GR reticle actually looks really nice to me. The floating dot seems nicer to me than the crosshairs intersecting with the dot like on the Swarovski's BTR-I.... but I am unsure about the 2nd illuminated dot below it. It seems like it might be somewhat of a distraction, but you could probably get used to it. Other than that, the 3GR and BTR-I seem fairly similar. Other than the reticle, the Z8i obviously can go up to 8x, whereas the K16i can only go to 6x. There is roughly a $500 difference..... There seems to be tradeoffs either way. So, I'm not really sure which way to go at the moment. Anybody have any thoughts? Has anyone had the chance to try both? Any other alternatives? Yes, I have considered the Vortex also and may end up with it in the end, but I'm not sure. I'd prefer something more lightweight and with the mil adjustments like these have. Anything else I should be looking at?
  2. Do you mean 507C? The 510C is quite a big larger. The 507C is the slide-ride style equivalent.
  3. Clamp. But it's actually not the clamp side that's a problem. The side that the gas tube connects to is too tall. I guess part of the problem might be that this barrel is .875 also. (BSF .223/5.56 wylde)
  4. Anybody know which adjustable gas blocks will fit within a Coda Evolution carbon fiber handguard? I bought a Superlative Arms hoping it would work and it's just slightly too tall. Disappointed. Would like to find one that fits on my next attempt. SLR? Seekins Precision? Odin Works?
  5. The top small hex screw on the back of the trigger is for pull weight adjustment. Clockwise increases spring tension on the sear. Counter-clockwise reduces it. You can adjust it while it's installed in a lower.
  6. I'm putting my AR Gold up for sale as soon as I get around to taking some pictures if you're interested in saving some money vs new/retail. Feel free to send me a DM. I've sold a CMC trigger to someone on here before also, and that went smoothly. The AR Gold was my favorite trigger until I tried the new TriggerTech Diamond. The reset on both of them is pretty quiet/weak, but also extremely short... more short than anything else I've tried. They also can be set to about the same pull weight. I just like the roller design of the Diamond & the click adjustment for setting the pull weight. Plus, it has a taller than normal hammer, which allows it to work in my 9mm PCC with normal 9mm bolts, whereas the AR Gold doesn't (they have a separate version for AR10s and are working on a separate version for 9mm PCC ARs). I'd happily use either of them, but I'm willing to lose a bit of money to convert over all my ARs to use the Diamond just so I can have exactly the same trigger in all of them. I mostly like them both because they can be adjusted to be very light & they have the shortest reset vs any others I've tried. To me, a 1.5 - 2 lbs. trigger is much nicer than a 2.5 - 3.5 lb. trigger, which is where most of the market is. I have an Elftmann (9mm version) also, and I think it's the nicest I've tried of the no take up/immediate wall single stage style triggers, like Hiperfire, etc. (much nicer than the drop-in CMC trigger, IMO), but it can't get as light or have as short of a reset as the above 2 triggers, and I think I like the 1911/2011 style really light initial take up of the AR Gold & TT Diamond a little more. To me, that 1911/2011 style can be just as fast (short reset), but is also better for precision since you can use that initial take up to prep for a shot.
  7. I threw it in my PCC, and it looks like my suspicions were correct. Them making the hammer taller to make it work with AR10s also makes it work with 9mm bolts. It's resetting just fine in my PCC with a JP 9mm bolt. Very happy with this trigger.
  8. Initial impressions: I like it a lot! The reset is actually a little louder/more tactile than the AR Gold, but not nearly as loud/tactile as the Elftmann. However, the TriggerTech Diamond can be adjusted much lighter than the Elftmann and the reset is shorter. The AR Gold and TriggerTech Diamond have roughly the same take up and same reset distance. The TriggerTech Diamond has a very crisp break with no creep due to the roller design. The AR Gold has the tiniest bit of creep that you would never really notice unless directly comparing it to the Diamond. I think it just comes down to the difference between using the roller design and not. The AR Gold is about as good as you can get for its design, in my opinion, based on the other triggers I've tried, but the Diamond has the advantage. Right now, I have the Diamond adjusted to the lightest setting, and I haven't adjusted my AR Gold as light as it will go yet, but I will soon to compare. I've seen people on YouTube get them down to around 1.5 pounds or so. So, it should be really close to the Diamond in that aspect, and, like I said already, the reset distance on them is already about the same.... The Diamond might just be a hair shorter, but the AR Gold has a shorter reset than any other AR15 trigger I've tried. So, it's really close. Overall, this is the best AR trigger I've tried. I'm really interested in seeing if it will work in a 9mm PCC with 9mm-specific BCGs, as the hammer looks to be a bit taller/beefier. It may not require a special bolt like the Taccom Extreme to reset properly, like the AR Gold does when used in a 9mm PCC. If it does, I'll be buying a 2nd one so that I can use it in both my PCC and regular AR.
  9. I have this combo. BSF carbon fiber tension barrel + Coda Evolution carbon fiber handguard. I don't have a number, but it's very light. I like it a lot.
  10. Downside of Hyperion: no optic Downside of Erebus: no non-optic sights Would be nice to get both in one gun for more flexibility.
  11. Bought one. Will report back with how it compares to the AR Gold after I've had a chance to compare them.
  12. haha, yeah. it's funny because it looks just like the AR Gold, but AR Gold doesn't call this a 2 stage trigger.
  13. Finally found a YouTube review video that shows the trigger pull & reset really well. This thing looks epic. @TonytheTiger It doesn't really look like a typical 2 stage trigger. It's just like the AR Gold where it's basically simulating a 1911/2011 style trigger. The first "stage" is really just some super light take up before you hit the wall.
  14. Tevo will be releasing a 510C mount for the Czechmate/TSO this year. I was told late summer at the earliest. So, sometime in fall is a reasonable expectation.
  15. Green. It's more visible to the human eye. This is why people generally prefer green lasers to red on carry guns. The only time it might be a problem is in very bright sun with white targets.
  16. It does matter. The CMC AR9 trigger was incompatible with my Elftmann push-button style safety. Not enough clearance. It wouldn't reset properly. (You'd have to push it forward with your finger after firing.). This safety is also incompatible with Hyperfire triggers. FWIW, I have no issues with the QC10 upper/lower + AR Gold .223 trigger + Taccom Extreme Bolt + Elftmann push-button safety. Worked out of the box with no issues. The AR Gold .223 trigger did not reset properly with the JP AR9 bolt though. This is why they are making that new hammer. BTW, the AR Gold seems to have new competition nowadays for people who are interested in adjustable AR triggers that can get very light. The Timney Calvin Elite & TriggerTech AR Diamond both seem like strong competition. Haven't had a chance to compare them to the AR Gold yet, but want to!
  17. How light are you able to get the pull?
  18. Makes sense when you think about it. They have the same fixed optic advantage, similar recoil characteristics (or maybe better?), and they can swing the smaller gun around much more quickly.
  19. This is the main thing. PCC is just a lot of fun. 3 gun is stupidly expensive. Open guns are stupidly expensive. PCCs are way more accessible. $1500-ish for a competitive gun. Quite fast. More fun than production/carry optics (higher round count, fixed position optic, compensators allowed, etc.) PCC pistols/SBRs also make a lot of sense for home defense with a suppressor.
  20. Cool, I never got it before for some reason. I'll check my email. Tapping holes in the tac frame version sounds interesting! Thanks.
  21. I've actually emailed before asking questions, and also asked questions on the instagram account, and never received a reply in either case. I see that the 3 gun model doesn't list anything about a slide ride optic plate or optic on the site anymore. What happened there? Would it be possible to get frame mount holes drilled in the 3 gun model? Or, alternatively, get the other model with a tac rail frame?
  22. I have the AR Gold. The reset on it is very similar to how you describe the reset on the AR Diamond. It’s very short but also very weak/quiet. I also have an Elftmann, and it’s much different. Its reset is really loud and forceful/tactile, but not quite as short. I like both of them. The weak/quiet reset on the AR Gold doesn’t bother me. So, I’d probably like the AR Diamond. I’m mostly interested in this because of that 1.5 lb number. Are you able to get yours down that low and still functioning properly?
  23. Looks good. What's your setup like with the set screws?
  24. I have multiple 510Cs, and they are plenty bright, IMO. I actually keep the brightness setting on them pretty low most of the time (though I use the green dot version).
