I don’t know as I have all my revolvers set at 6 lbs. I would think it would as people say that the titanium cylinder which is lighter can give you lighter pull. But if I remember right Apex was getting trigger pull down to 4 to 4 1/2 lbs with steel cylinders.

And what is wrong with the handicap may I ask. Lots of veterans out there.

To set the record straight I was doing a little pot stirring with my comments and I do know the final shot is the one that counts and I would never ask to see my splits unless I hit one hell of a reload on my revolver and I just wanted to pat myself on the back.

So if I shoot a 8 round stage and the last shot is picked up and I don’t like my time I can ask to see 8 splits and if only 7 show up I get a reshoot. I think from now on I will be asking to see all shots on the timer especially if I have a bad run. In fact 9.10.1 should include RO has to show shooter every split before scoring starts.

Pinnacle Custom took my 627 and originally cut the cylinder down to 38 short colt length and extended the forcing cone. I then ran across a 38 super cylinder and another 627 cylinder. I sent it all to Mark and asked him to fit the 38 super cylinder which he had to cut the forcing cone and also fit the new 627 cylinder. He had to cut the 627 cylinder to the same length as the 38 super and fit both with perfect timing on both. I am telling you this as he can do wonders and what you are talking about he can do. Whileyou are at it have him make you a custom .356barrel you won’t be disappointed.

Well let’s not forget the 38 long colt in the multi calibers. As far as cost yes the nine is cheaper and if that is what you are set up for by all means get a 9mm. When people talk about cost savings between 9mm and 38 short colt I do have to snicker a little as they just laid out anywhere from $1000 to $1200 for a revolver and then dropped another $500 to a $1000 into moon clips, trigger work and whatever else is deemed needed. But they are worried about the cost between 9mm brass and 38 short colt brass. Which by the way you will probably never have to buy 38 short colt again as you get all your brass back and unless you are doing something wrong the brass never goes bad. Maybe an occasional split case but not much more. Out of the the original 1000 short colt I purchased I am still well over 950 that I still reload and probably have cycled more than 20 times and probably a lot more. So to me that is like buying a Ferrari and then try to find the cheapest fuel you can find to put in it. To the original OP on this thread buy which one you fancy most load and shoot and have fun. It sounds like you are set up to reload either. ✌

What makes it a class above? My 627’s will run circles around any 929’s and it is multi caliber and duplicates 9mm with short colt. The barrels on both are.357 and both are N frame. The biggest difference is the titanium cylinder and in my opinion and it is just my opinion the titanium cylinder is over rated. Me I would go with the 627 everyday and not look back.

You can always shoot major in ICORE and nothing stops you from showing your skill shooting major. If you shoot well enough you will be recognized and I say this knowing you are an accomplished revolver shooter.

Maybe first time around if you pick it up at the range and if it works in your revolver. With Starline 38 Short Colt I bought it once and have fired cases at least 15 to 10 times probably even more and I can say I have probably only split less than a dozen. Guess what else they all worked in my revolver without ever sticking. Hmm and they still give me 9mm ballistics and they will shoot 2” and under groups at 50 yards.

Now I am old and last I knew I was your friend. I drive by your place all the time going to see my grandson. I can just stop by have a cigar and get a gift I could pass on to my grandson.

Something to do and why not own a Ruger after all they are our major sponsor in ICORE. Don’t get me wrong still love my S&W’s but why not give a little back to Ruger. Also since I did purchase one I might as well make it race worthy. Just like the S&W’s they are not ready to run out of the box. New set of Hogue big butts and it is ready to go. And now for my little dig. It is a multi caliber revolver it handles 38 short colt(9mm ballistics), 38 long colt, 38 special and 357 magnum. An all around revolver to use for competition shooting and for hunting and everything in between and then you have xxx which can shoot 1 caliber and what Fun is that. Remember my opinion only and if I hurt some feelings oh well. ✌

Again the release was made long to adjust down. Like I said earlier it is a lot easier to take metal off than to add on later. Actually it does not get in the way of a proper grip with the length it is now as when I first put it on I thought it would get in the way during the draw and it did not. So yes it does worky at the current length but I will be shortening it to the length that works for me. Can you post a picture of your “proper” grip on a Ruger as I know I grip my S&W’s higher but the Ruger feels awkward trying to grip as high.
