  1. Thanks for the info everyone. I think I read every article Brazos had on the site. I may even print them fpr future use. (I hate reading on my phone when my hands get dirty) I installed an aftec extractor because I had one laying around. When I inspected the original after removing it I found the tooth chipped just a tiny bit when inspecting with magnifying glass. Should have the new ejector in early this week and installed by the weekend. And have the new mount and SRO installed. Then some good ol range time is in order.
  2. Looks to be a standard long ejector. I have a brazos tuned ejector coming this week.
  3. I dislike all of you. I just got my tanfo dome up by patriot defense and read this entire thread. Now I really want a redback. Good thing winter time means LOTS of OT.
  4. Just build a IDPA CO Hipower and am looking for a base pad, not extension, that would fit these mags? We did a weld on cylinder and slide magwell so I do have a little room for one to fit now. Anyone know if a Beretta M9 or other common mag shares the same or close dimensions?
  5. I use the shooters connection sleave. Won it at a match this past year. Works perfect, fits in the small shooters connection range bag great as well. I use the small range bag when just going to practice. Have one for limited gun and open gun. Then when itsatch day I just pop the little one in the big shooters connection bag and I have everything needed.
  6. I just talked to them about when they will be selling the grip separate from buying a complete pistol. They said march or April 2021. So I guess I'm either going to wait for their grip for my poor man open gun or just get the lonestar.
  7. Send @PCPEMark a message or email them. Hands down the absolute best company to get what ever coating and surface finish you want. He has been doing this for almost 30 years.
  8. I would think so. I just find it weird looking. Side note. Removed mount and found all 5 screw holes buggered up. So before I put the new m loop until on I get to drill/tap them for 6-40. What a joy. This project poors open gun is going two steps forward and 1 step back every time I mess with it. Ahh well. In the end it will be worth it...... I hope.
  9. Good to know. I think I'll swap over a different mount and optic and continue testing.
  10. Going to try out the spring first then see if I need to tune extractor or ejector. I'm currently running a c more railway so its basicly blocking any upward brass. I do have a mount for a SRO and RTS2 just havent swapped those on yet.
  11. So I just got done building my poor mans open gun from BUL Armory full size 2011 government model. I have an evil hands thumb rest on it and once in a while brass will get stuck between my thumb, the rest, the sight mount and the slide. I'm running a 9lb recoil spring and shooting everglades 9 major ammo. Brass ejects slightly rear or straight out the side of the gun. Stock extracor. What would be the first thing I should adjust, or tune?
  12. If you are still looking for recommendations Sean at Prasky Gunworks does them.
  13. I'd be willing to bet limcat didnt do the build. Someone just used limcat parts. Either way cool looking RIA!
  14. Most likely no. The shape of a 2011 grip and a hicap grip are much different. I'd go with the Taylor Freelance magwell. Ran one for almost 3 seasons when I had the RIA 40 cal full dust cover limited gun. Also I'd be willing to vet that STI gen 2 mags will fit and run just fine in your RIA. If not a couple shops machine the frame to fit them. I never had much luck with the RIA mags and extended base pads myself so I ran 2011 mags. Prasky Gunworks builds a lot of 3 gun pistols using RIA hicaps, and some limited guns and can machine them to fit 2011 mags if needed. These frame vary in specs A LOT so some need this cut and others dont.
  15. Easiest way would be call KKM and order the size you want for the barrel. Buy the slide you like, in commander size and have it machined to fit barrel length. A good gunsmith should be able to also cut the relief for a barrel bushing if needed or go with a bull barrel. Then have front sight cut machined.
  16. What kind of coating? PVD, Cerakote, black Nitride, hard chrome? Lots of choices.
  17. Its live now on Sigs website. Not many options.
  18. Hey Mark! Glad to see yall here.
  19. I keep it super simple myself. 3 mags loaded exactly the same, 20 rounds, 3 pouches. Middle mag is my load into the gun mag. As for making sure the mags always have 20 I simply download any mag I used to empty and reload them. If it is getting close to last stage and I dont feel like loading mags i just empty them and put them in range bag. I usually have 10 mags with me. Mostly incase one breaks, but if someone needs a mag I can lend a few out and be good still.
  20. I have a top end in 9mm for my current limited gun. For me it's because I have nerve damage in both arms and 9mm is less abuse on them. Although I've never actually used the 9mm top end... actually come to think of it, I still havent even fitted it to the gun.
  21. It's at my FFL. Going to go pick it up tomorrow or sunday at the match. It currently has a plastic grip and i really want to change it to a Lonestar. But is that sacrilege?
  22. I hate mine. Hate it. Wish I never sold my old Springfield. Its runs great, we did a couple little mods to it but nothing serious.
