  1. I learned that you better go when you gotta go: Them shotshell caddies digging into your belly with a full bladder actually hurts when you have to go prone...
  2. Maybe wear and tear from tossing it in dump buckets doesn't show as much on an engraved gun...
  3. It's like using a knife: I know I shouldn't cut like this, but since I'm aware of it I can because I'm careful. I'm guilty.
  4. I do what Sarge does. Get powder measure dialed in first. Drop primers in the tube, pull handle 6 times, turn casefeeder on, pull handle once and then insert 1 (fired, not deprimed) case in station 2. This case gets pulled when its in station 3. Kind of the same with the 1050. When the first case is at the primer station, I insert an empty into the powder station and pull it out when it has moved to the next.
  5. What a coincidence: Just Sunday I realized my sights were way too blurry. Grabbed my +1.75 cheaters (now there's a clue) and whoa, sights were razor sharp, but the 5.5" shoot 'n see Caldwell targets were nowhere to be seen. Normally I can see my hits @ 25y. Today I ordered a pair of +1.25 stick-on bifocal from Amazon. The plan is to use just 1 and see how that works out and if I can see past it when shooting a scoped rifle.
  6. Thanks, that looks like it could make a difference. Bookmarked!
  7. Cool, just have to count when loading a magazine. Now, about the magwell... I'll have to find out first if it's not going to be in the way, it may have to go as I have rather large hands. "Overhang" measured on a 1911:
  8. So I got an Apeiro ordered this week and I intend to use it in the couple of local 3gun matches I get to attend. No word on wait time yet , but knowing nothing about 2011s I ended up looking up 2011 magazines and with all the stories about springs, followers, base plates and tuning kits I'm not sure what to get. Since rules dictate no more than 10 rounds in the mag after the start and 140mm max it looks like 126mm mags would be fine, but they come in 10 and 12 round. Should I just get the 10rd version or take the 12rd and load only 10. Is one more reliable than the other? Does the 12rd have peek holes to verify the number of rounds in it? Thanks in advance!
  9. I don't remember the capacity of the extension tube, but the total count as shown is 9+1 (24" SN).
  10. Does the comp kit eliminate the "stretching and flexing" in a std trigger? I have FSS kits in 3 of my 4 M&P's (No. 4 is a .22). With my very limited skills I can't comment on splits, but I do know my accuracy greatly improved with the FSS over the std S&W trigger.
  11. Just watched the last episode of season 1 tonight. Great series but I guess it didn't catch on as it NBC cancelled it today. Bummer...
  12. Mixed brass is a likely cause for shoulders getting bumped differently. Also, some once fired brass needs a small base sizing die the first time.
  13. Seems the 2 slots in the bushing are not identical. Upon disassembly I found the old spring clip was still installed, but the trigger pin would not "click" in. Reinstalled it in the opposite direction and now the pin locks.
  14. The characters in this show are messed up to the limit. I hope it's coming back for a 3rd season.
  15. Ah, I remember that little clippie thingy. Getting it back in the slot in the bushing (20) was a pain, I bet it came out. Thanks gentlemen for the quick help!
  16. The pin that locks the trigger group in the M2 receiver has dropped out twice now. I'm hoping someone knows a remedy for this? It started happening after I took the unit out to install a Taran lifter and Freedom Fighter hammer/disconnector. Thanks.
  17. Going from Magtech std primers to CCI250 (or CCI34) I was able to back down the IMR 4064 charge by a full grain and get the same velocity with improved case life. ES and SD numbers also improved.
  18. Just chrono'd some 308 today loaded with 4064 on a 1050. As mentioned by daunted future the powder measure is polished. SD came out 10.8, good enough for me. Dropped charge is well within +/- .2
  19. I now have cut part of the sleeve flush with the bottom of the die. Had a few hang-ups by bullets hitting the sleeve. After funneling the sleeve that hasn't happened anymore. I was a little afraid that the sleeve would twist in the die, but so far that hasn't happened.
  20. You can adjust the sleeve so it doesn't touch the shell plate. That said, it may defeat one of the benefits of the die.
  21. I happened to have the correct drill bit and tap and did it myself. I never tapped anything before in my life. Taran has a YouTube video on how to do it.
  22. I need 36 inseam, Cabela's brand jeans is taller than common brands such as Wrangler or Lee.
  23. I recently installed the alu FSS and the pin that secures the transfer bar was pre-installed (with enough room to put the transfer bar in position).
