  1. Season 6 finale: The scene of Bridget with the chainsaw... epic! ... and the wait for season 7 begins....
  2. Rather stupid, I admit: I once “overclamped” the Nordic clamp on my M2 to the point where the shells wouldn’t pass the clamp location in the tube. Luckily no damage.
  3. I tried N310 but went back to N320. I found N310 to be dirtier and the recoil less pleasant. I load 5.7gr N320 with MG185. Chrono’d around 820fps with mixed brass.
  4. Super! I just placed my order accordingly with Taccom.
  5. Should work for strong hand too, right - tipping the gun on my right shoulder? I see Taccom also has a shoulder strap to hold the rig up... recommended? 1 or 2? thanks.
  6. Today was the day. Yesterday was the prep, mixed in 64 oz of Gatorade wasn't bad, but.... no food and above all no coffee for 24 hours was sheer horror. Worst migraine I remember. The procedure itself is the easy part. Watched the whole procedure live on the screen including removal of 1 tiny polyp. I should be good for 5 or 10 years depending on pathology. After 4 cups of coffee and 3 sandwiches my headache is gone now.
  7. I'm using the Dillon beam scales, sitting on my bench. After loading a bunch of rounds I do have to reset the zero as the leg (wheel) tends to creep into the body of the scales.
  8. Correct. Used the cutting wheel and then ground the entry radius.
  9. Yeah, a few things were incompatible between the old and new model MBF: The nose guide plates are shims on the new model and the adapter that hooks up the spring tube to the collater is different. Mr Bulletfeeder himself (Rick) set me up with the correct parts and it's working great. I tried the MBF funnel/exapander for 45 but found it sticking a bit and swapped back to the Dillon funnel and expanding on the swager die. No tipping bullets so far.
  10. I "abandoned" my FALs for competition this year and went with Aero upper/lower and JP 18" barrel and a bunch of other JP stuff. I figure since I'd swap a bunch of parts on any factory rifle I might as well assemble it from scratch. Picked one of them fancy Geissele triggers. I have a sentimental (draft) weak spot for the FAL, but there's no going back.
  11. Shoot me: I don't check. Using the clunk type powder measure with failsafe rod I cannot imagine how I can end up not throwing powder. I do have a few of those check buzzers somewhere in the back of a drawer but don't bother myself with setting them up. Other than checking when clearing an occasional jam, what could really happen? I'd see more benefit in a powder hopper alarm to avoid ending up with half the cases in the bin powderless.
  12. Reviving this topic: I had a concussion early this year and during tests they noticed that I had convergence trouble. I went to the eye doctor and found out that I've had that all my life and I seem to have been able to adapt really well. I brought in my shooting glasses (saw on their website they are Wiley X dealer) to see what they could do. My left eye is better for arms length focus and my right eye for distance. Not what I want for shooting. I did "the stance" and they figured things out to focus right eye for front sight and left for distance. I learned 2 things: My stance angle did not work with both eyes open (I see double if I don't look straight ahead because of that convergence thing) and my Leupold LCO dot turned into a donut unless positioned at the very edge of the glass. So I made another appointment to redo the glasses. This time she let me bring in my pistol and rifle to set things up the right way. Now I have a bifocal section in my right glass, at the top in the middle somewhat with plenty of room to the left of that section for my rifle dot; it's 1 moa again. And because I'm aiming my pistol straight ahead, can even shoot pistol with both eyes open (still needs practice though) without seeing double. They are perfect now! Kudos to the eye doctor who took this as a learning opportunity.
  13. RIP Mr Dillon. Thoughts and prayers for those that were close to him.
  14. I disagree. Outstanding choice in 308 for HD. The only problem is accumulation as they tend to be addictive.
  15. Mine are stock. I did have lock back issues with the magazines I bought separately and noticed the followers were different at the right front, a straight corner cut vs rounded. Also filed off a mounding stub at the back. After that they work like the mag that came with the gun.
  16. Sorry, no help with your issue, but assuming you get it to work, I'm curious to hear your opinion if/how you like it over the (heavy?) recoil master. I'm shooting 185's in a 45 Apeiro, so I guess it's close. Thanks.
  17. I know! It never worked for me to position my left hand correctly, but now the bottom ledge positions my left hand where it should be and in an naturally repeatable way. I have to be careful though; I'm running out of excuses
  18. BAM!!! As promised the after picture. Exceeding my expectations. The ledge also positions my left hand perfectly.
  19. Had my first one scheduled a few weeks ago. It seems colonoscopies are "in" these days as the first opening is late January 2017.
  20. I just run a rifle cleaning rod with Hoppes#9 through the tube after I size&trim.
  21. I've used AA5 until late last year. At that time I got my Apeiro45 and figured I'd work on a more match appropriate load. Now I'm also throwing it it 9mm and 38sp. Got another 4lbs during my lunch break today, just in case....
  22. I didn't realize there had been a shortage. I better increase my stash from enough to more than enough while I can.
  23. I think the lack of the primer seating push on the 1050 is a big plus. If I could do it all over again I would have skipped the 650 and end up with 2 1050's. I'd keep the 550 of odds and ends like 500S&W and such. I recently moved loading 45acp from 650 to 1050 and it seem effortless compared to before.
  24. And to confirm that the 9mm conversion works for .357 Mag like a charm: This is with the .40 nose guide (as per Rick works for 9 and 40) and using the Dillon powder funnel. I'm not sure if/how the DAA 9mm funnel would work. Dropping 21.5gr WW296 this is fast enough to feed a hungry Coonan (and others). I'm going ahead and get a 2nd dropper for my 9mm toolhead.
  25. Update: I called Rick and he shipped me the correct nose guide plate for 45 - and a 2nd one for 9/38. We also swapped the connecting part between the collator and the spring tube. What a guy! I tried the DA powder funnel, but it seems to stick a bit, so I the swapped back to the Dillon activator. The expander/swage combo is doing a good job, no tipped over bullets no matter how fast I go.
