  1. @Bakerjd, you might try to look at some of the AIWB holstermaker foam pads. As a fellow skinny guy, foam is a lot more comfortable on the hip bone than a hard plastic 'pad'.
  2. I unscrewed the mounting brackets, put it about where I wanted it, attached the brackets, shifted it around a little, and then tightened the brackets down over the joints between two links, like DAA recommends. It fits great.
  3. Everglades MRH. Tried the Alpha X and didn't like it. Sold that to a buddy who said the alpha x worked a lot better with the muzzle support. I'm so happy with the MRH that I don't want to try anything else. MRH is better with a more rigid belt. I switched to the Lynx belt and it's nicer. I tried the Everglades pad and didn't like it much. Later, I mounted one of these foam pads on the inside of the hanger. https://darkstargear.com/product/flatpad/ That's a way better thigh pad for me than the Everglades one.
  4. Preface: I really like my steel grips. Given the choice between aluminum and plastic, I'd go aluminum because of the better shape and texture.
  5. Ammo shortages and demand mean they're probably going to the factory ammo makers. CCI/Federal's output is probably spoken for.
  6. Oops. My bad. Thanks for the correction.
  7. Looks like Hayes Custom has a complete set of mods for the VR80 now: Getting the mods done is $1500, plus charges for extras like the odin stock. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just thought this was neat.
  8. The Radian talon does not. As far as I know, only the BAD 45s need those modifications.
  9. Got a couple today. They work fine in a limcat magwell (newer kind with the curved bottom). No dremeling/filing needed. I agree with Silverscooby as to the advantages of not having to load/unload dummy rounds and a rack buddy.
  10. See here for example: https://gunmagwarehouse.com/glock-9mm-24-round-factory-magazine.html They're longer than 141.25mm, but shorter than 171.25mm. Pretty sure an extension would be fine, but I haven't added an extension to mine.
  11. Another vote for Criterion 16" with rifle gas here. Mine should be arriving tomorrow. They've been backordered for a bit but their website has them back in stock now.
  12. Alternatively, you could just get a vertical foregrip with battery compartment and load it with fishing weights until you got the balance right.
  13. Interesting. Stocks with compartments are a lot easier to add weights to, so the JP product is a nice thing if I needed more front weight for balance. As for handguards, I found these from XLR, but they're even more expensive: https://xlrindustries.com/products/m-lok-steel-weights
  14. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Or heck, $410, profit margin is safe. I don't need a crazy strong aluminum housing. I'm not tossing my competition pistols out of helicopters.
  15. Yeah maybe. I think there might be enough good experiences with the SRO for me to take a look. I'd need a new mount though. The changes mentioned in here don't seem like they'd add all that much more to the cost.
  16. They definitely could. It makes me wonder how hard it would be to get them built right, market something that actually works reliably like the AMG labs timers guys do for their timers.
  17. That is a sweet gun. Did Benny do all the work on yours, or just the barrel porting, gas system, and spring?
  18. I'll second the thanks. This review is great. Especially the trigger pull video.
  19. That would make sense given that it's still a locked breach gun, and that modular breach face is the one big differentiator for Infinity slides (so, what they could work with).
  20. I'm really curious to know how that works. It sure looks cool.
  21. Thanks for the background. Looks like I have some reading to do.
  22. I'm glad yours ran well! I haven't seen that, but I haven't seen a ton of examples either, so maybe my buddies and I have bad luck? Did you mod your Vepr at all?
  23. +1 on brake cleaner. Maybe soak stuff if it's really stubborn. Oh, and do it in a well ventilated place.
  24. The wait is the worst! Let us know what you think of it. Do you have any other box mag fed shotguns to compare it to?
