  1. A big thanks to the SCC staff and crew for once again putting on a great match. The stages were fun and challenging, and the ROs and the rest of the staff were super nice - couldn't have asked for better weather, either! See y'all next year...
  2. I have a plane ticket bought and my app went in the mail yesterday - I can't wait, this is always a great match!
  3. I've been to all 4 DTCs, and I agree this was the best one yet. This is also the first time I have RO'd a major match (stage 6, the big ones go "BONG"), and it was a hoot! I really enjoyed meeting all the shooters, something I don't get to do as a regular competitor. I now have a new appreciation for all the work that goes into a match this size - Robert, Steve and everyone else worked their butts off to make this happen, and I will certainly remember to thank the staff at matches I go to in the future. The shooters were great, the weather was typical Texas schizophrenic, and I'm sick as a dog today but I will do it all over again next year!
  4. Oops - I didn't see that in the classifier book - I looked at the Fee Schedule to get the $5/shooter: FEE SCHEDULE Club match, no classifier… … … … … … … … … … … … … ..… … ...… … $ 1.50 per shooter Club match with classifier… … … … … … … … … … … … … .… … … ..... $ 3.00 per shooter Sanctioned Match, add… … … … … … … … … … … … … … .… … … … ...$ 1.00 per shooter Special (3 additional classifiers with or without regular monthly classifier) – per division… … … … .… … ..… ...$ 5.00 per shooter Tournament… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … .… … … .… .$ 5.00 per shooter So now that I'm looking at the correct document ( ), I see on pgs 3-4 it says results must be reported on the special form, and must be sent in with the signed application. Since I've already uploaded them, do I still need to send in the application? And to whom?
  5. Our club held a special classifier match yesterday consisting of 4 classifier stages, 25 shooters. I chose Level 1 Special when I set up the match, and our club president filled out the appropriate form for holding a Level 1 Special match. I assumed something different would happen when I uploaded this match, but it didn't. According to the club instructions we should owe USPSA $5/shooter, or $125 for this match. Instead, the e-mail I received after the upload is saying we owe $150 ($1.50*4 classifiers* 25 shooters) - what did I do wrong and how do I fix it? Thanks! Rhonda
  6. I can't think of a nicer young man (and a heck of a shooter, too!) to send to the World Shoot, I'm going to try to make this one. It's been forever since I've been to San Antonio anyway, so its time for a visit.
  7. Just made reservations at Hotel Waco. Anybody know if Arthur will be using USPSA's online squadding for this match? I missed the Waco match last Sat, I heard he made an announcement about the match but nobody said anything about squadding. Their monthly matches are really fun, I'm sure this one will be a blast!
  8. I watched both shows last night, pretty good footage. My buddies and I were watching several of the Limited guys shoot on the last day and can be seen in the spectators. The rain segments didn't quite do that rainstorm justice though - I have never been that thoroughly soaked in my life, much less that soaked AND shooting. And I was disappointed to only see a 2-3 second aerial shot from the helicopter - those that were there know all the commotion that helicopter caused - they were flying low enough over the stages that you couldn't hear range commands or the buzzer, and finally had to be grounded. The most amazing thing was watching Todd clear a malfunction on one of the stages. I rewound that several times, and even in slo-mo you can hardly see him clear it. Unbelievable! The show on the SS guns was cool too - those are definitely working guns, not show pieces. All in all, good stuff! I wish I could find a way to get that off my DVR and onto a DVD - any suggestions?
  9. Got mine, for last year's Area 4. Had to turn down last year's Open Nats slot because I couldn't afford to go to Montana - got in on the waiting list and shot Lim/Prod Nats with a Glock instead (eek). Had a blast anyway, but it will be much more fun this year with an open gun!
  10. Fourth! Pat is my hero, he's saved many matches for me with spare parts and such.
  11. I'm takin' one of those bad boys home this year! It will be a rich, high talent, competitive field either way, and a high quality, highly entertaining match, as well. The match is not made by two individual shooters attending it - its made by the match staff and director putting on a high quality event. If the event is worthwhile, the talent will show up... THANKS XRe could not have said it better myself. the e-mail problem is the only thing that is a Pain about the self squadding. Really depends on your e-maill Client and your ISP on how fast you get your PIN some ISP batch their E-mail to clients. We are also giving Max and TT the chance to still shoot the Match with the RO's and Staff. How cool would that be for the Staff! The staff would love it, believe me!!
  12. Certificates for components (brass, bullets, powder, etc.) are always appreciated, and easily tradeable/sellable even if you don't load your own. I can certainly understand the argument about cash awards to the top winners - do any of those guys EVER keep the guns they win? Doubtful. As for cutting the prize table completely, I hope not - speaking from experience, at the end of the match that may be the only thing I'm shooting for...
  13. I went to Cozumel in June, first time since the hurricanes. The diving was still good, but not nearly the abundance of sea life that there was before Wilma - I only went on 8 dives that trip (too much drinking/partying, woo hoo!) and never saw a moray. Not one. Very weird. On certain reefs you could see signs of damage, and some were still dusted with sand. Cozumel is great for cheap-ish, short trips, but the best diving I've ever done was in Bonaire. Well worth the extra time and money to get there, IMO.
  14. Shooting with Bob was a pleasure - he always had a big smile and a great story to tell. He will definitely be missed.
  15. I'm glad everyone had a good time - I sure did! Thanks again to Steve S. and Robert P., and everyone else who gave up their time to put on this series of matches. We fought through wasp stings, smashed/bleeding fingers and various other ailments to get everything set up for Sunday, and it was a blast. I've been going to matches for several years now, and I finally won a gun - woo hoo! See y'all next time!
  16. I had this same dilemma a couple of years ago. I loaded on a friend's 650 a couple of times, then ordered my own 650 instead of the 550. I got the full setup with the casefeeder, and was able to set everything up by myself (and I'm SO not mechanically-inclined), and haven't had any issues. Dillon support is excellent, even when you ask them dumb girl questions... I rarely switch calibers, and have never had to switch out to the large primer system, so that might be a pain. 650 with the casefeeder - it's calling your name!
  17. Got back home a few hours ago from my first ever USPSA Nationals - all I can say is WOW. The USSA facility is awesome (why would you have a major match anywhere else??), and the range and match staff/officials worked their butts off to make everything run very smoothly. This is in spite of a few stage controversies, a complete downpour one morning during shooting, more than a few issues with hotels and me having a bit of grip tape in the wrong place. Hats off to all those who made this happen - I had an absolute blast, and can't wait to do it again next year!
  18. We'll just apologize profusely up front like we always do and hope for the best... At least we're not boring!
  19. Once again, this was a great match - a huge thanks to Artie, Jimmy, David, the ROs and everyone else who helped make this happen. We completely lucked out on the weather too, couldn't have asked for a better weekend for shooting. And as always, the parking lot parties and getting to see people you only see a couple of times a year was as much fun as the shooting (Hi Damon!). See you next year!
  20. A huge thanks for all your hard work, Kimberley! I was #5, so I paid up this morning then made reservations for myself and the crew at the match hotel - I'm looking forward to my first USPSA Nationals!
  21. Fantastic match once again! Kudos to all who helped make this match happen, even Cheryl with her evil swingers... Very challenging match, great weather, great food and fabulous staff - I'll definitely be back next year. Congrats to everyone on squad 6, it was a pleasure shooting with you guys - the fine young men from the Las Cruces PD were an awesome crew to shoot with, hope to see y'all again next year!
  22. Hi Damon! Greg, Derrick, Kevin and I will be there this year - we're looking forward to the match, and to a great dinner at Sadies' too. See you there!
  23. Got in just under the wire - I'm really looking forward to it, it was a great match last year. Talking to Larry, sounds like it will be even better this year - see y'all there!
  24. Once again, a fantastic match put on by David and his crew - thank you all for the hard work that you guys did, I had a blast! See y'all next year for sure!
