  1. A huge thanks to the NTPS crew for taking this one on, and of course to Robert for the venue. I just used the nifty online form to sign up to RO, I wouldn't miss this one for anything!
  2. Totally agree with Kearsage, this is always a great match and I absolutely love the weather and the scenery. We have spread the good word about this match here at home, so expect to be invaded by a few more Texans this year. I put my app in the mail this morning, and rumor has it that we'll be squadded with the awesome guys from the LCPD - woo hoo!
  3. Just sent in my app today, this is always a fun match - see y'all there! Rhonda
  4. I've had the TV (u400) and Internet package (pro) since last August and love it, absolutely no problems and it puts Time Warner/Comcast to shame. I give it a thumbs up for sure!
  5. Man, that is one sharp looking blaster Jerry - congratulations!
  6. I used several of the tunes off that CD as the background for vids from the AR Sectional a couple of years back - I thought it was awesome, but I may have been biased... Powerful stuff, not like the superficial, whiny fluff that is so prevalent today. You kids get off my lawn!!
  7. Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues: Jimi Hendrix - awesome. Also have a little Susan Tedeschi thrown in on this playlist for good measure.
  8. Nice flameball! Lord help us if you come to Texas and shoot in the Double Tap cave with that thing, the ceiling may need to be reinforced first...
  9. In spite of the rain and mud, this was a great match. OK, I was totally unprepared for all the tight shots and distant targets, but hey - now I know what to practice! Our squad (10) was awesome, we were still having a good time while getting soaked and mud-splattered - I really enjoyed meeting David and Jane, Robert and John, and getting to shoot a big match with our other friends from the great state of Texas - you guys were a hoot! The match staff and ROs are to be commended - with the conditions and long hours they had to work with they had every reason to be grumpy, but every one of them had a great attitude - geez, they didn't even get to collect any brass off the stages and still they were a pleasure to be around! I was at the LPR Nats last year and shot in the pouring rain, but I was also at the ProAm this year and shot in the 100+ degree heat - you just never know what you're going to get weatherwise, unless of course you go to New Mexico - nothing you can do but make the best of it and buy a new pair of cleats, 'cuz that smell will NEVER come out! See y'all next year, I need to go practice now...
  10. Squad 10 Open - looking forward to meeting you, Flyin40! I would apologize for my running buddies up front, but I hear you've met Dave (SgtSVI) already so you won't be too shocked. I guess we'll have to try to console XRe somehow since he got stuck with us against his will... I can't wait, it's going to be a blast. Well our squad has 6 so far from the forums. The Balls, XRE, SgtSVI, Me and you. How about the others??? Are they on the forums too?? Flyin Also Catfish, Jimbob_Texas, Kearsage and Calamity Jane - I don't know the rest of the squad, but I'm sure we'll fix that!
  12. Since when do you need a swimsuit to go swimming? Just take your phone out of your pocket first...
  13. That is sweet, Damon! When I get around to buying one I guess I'll know who to send it to for my red paint job, Gentleman Jim...
  14. Gary, you did great! When you're used to being told exactly how to shoot a stage it can be a bit of a shock when the stage description simply reads "start here, shoot 'em all"... I'm glad you and George made it out to play, hope to see you guys at more USPSA matches in the future. DVC, baby!
  15. We giggled about that all the way home, and are still laughing about it. It didn't even occur to me to look at the color of the cans - I thought Catfish was laughing because I had something stuck on my shorts or something. In the vid I'm shaking my head at the end because I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and was grumbling about missing my dot - poor Don had to tell me what I did, I had no clue! Whatever, I still had a great time at this match. Phil and his staff deserve a huge thanks, everything was absolutely awesome! I will definitely shoot this match again, and I'll be a happy camper if we can bring an open gun next year... Gentleman Jim, it was great seeing you and your lovely wife again, hope you guys had a good trip home. And hey, don't forget to fix that oven!
  16. Squad 7 rocked! They hauled off a truck load of wood. Great shooting with you guys and getting to "know" the real people behind the avatar's Big thanks to the match staff and everyone that worked so hard to make this match a success. We were in shooting Nivarna, air conditioning, great sound system, awards AND prize table going on at the same time. Wowee! See you next year. David C I second that! Squad 7 was a hoot, it was great meeting and shooting with you guys. And as always, this was a top notch match - the stages, the range, the staff, the logistics, the prize table - everything was fantastic! Doing the random draw prize table and the awards at the same time was pure genius - everyone should give themselves a big pat on the back for a great match, can't wait until next year. And as one of the lucky ones who didn't have to ride home with the gaseous cloud that was Catfish, it was a great end to a great weekend! Rhonda
  17. Guess I'll be packing just like I pack for DoubleTap - bringing all my clothes! We're having 50 mph gusts here too today - I hope this dies down before I get on the plane tomorrow. I don't think there are enough bloody marys in DFW airport to get me through that flight otherwise...
  18. Hey Phil, I searched around but can't find a squad list posted anywhere yet - is there one and I just missed it? I can't wait for this match, it is going to be a blast!
  19. What a bunch of wussies!! You're just jealous...
  20. It's rather Zapruder-like, but yes. There IS video. It's how we know what happened to her glasses. And phone. For the record, I was rescuing a beer that had fallen into the pool. Somebody had to do it!
  21. I was the one of the other ones with no trophy. The match was run very smooth and was very challenging. I applaud the guys that stepped up to RO the match. They were short handed on Range officers and the match ran smoother than some others I have attended that had a full staff. I approached a couple of stages with a hoser mindset and got caught in a speed trap that cost me points and penalties. I will be better prepared for the match next year. My squad was a hoot as usual and the gathering at the pool was one for the books. If you can't let your hair down in front of your friends what good are they. That pool also appears to have a strange appetite for Oakleys and cell phones, doesn't it Rhonda! Umm yeah, turned out to be an expensive (but really fun!) weekend for me... I'm sure the pool boy will be really happy with his new half-jackets! And it turns out that once a phone gets drowned it's hard to get all the data off of it. Sigh.
  22. Thanks everyone - I've got a comp-tac holster for my ss, same style that I have for my glock in production - I'll make sure the butt of the gun is above my belt just in case. After my issues with grip tape at the production nats last year, I wanted to make absolutely sure I'm legal in single stack!
  23. I'm going to hang up my dot and try my hand at single stack for a couple of months this year, and I'm trying to figure out if I have the right equipment. I know for production I was able to use a holster with a slight offset/drop, but looking through the rule book it looks like that is not legal for single stack - is that correct? I don't want to have to dig the gun out of my ribs if I don't have to... Thanks! Rhonda
  24. Had a great time at this match! Squad 5 was a hoot as usual, and 9 out of 11 of us walked away with trophies - unfortunately, I was one of the 2 that didn't... But the pool party at Hotel Waco made up for that! Thanks again to Arthur and all the staff that put this match together, y'all did a great job. Hope to see it back on the calendar for next year.
