  1. You can search concluded listings on Gunbroker if you have an account. Log in, go to Advanced Search, and change it to "Completed Items". The last two 627-3 V-Comps that actually sold went for $1,390 and $1,246, which feels about right to me. You can also try the Smith & Wesson forum for pricing, though most people on there are collectors and not shooters so it can skew things a little (in either direction).
  2. Exactly this. IIRC, for 2019 Revo Nats, they chrono'd with the ammo we bagged at the start of the match. For the 2020 IDPA Rocky Mountain Regional, we bagged ammo at the start of the match, but at chrono they asked for ammo from my belt. Either is technically acceptable as all of your ammo should meet PF. My added disclaimer is I was shooting revo both times and RO's don't always want to deal with mooning/demooning ammo.
  3. Yarp. I rolled the dice on 2k 230gr .45's because the shipping is the same across the board. I've heard good things from a few local shooters that I trust and, honestly, all the coated bullet brands I've used aren't THAT different from each other. King's said they were in stock when I placed the order but they haven't shipped yet. Having said that, it was only a week ago, and they'll still be faster than everyone else if they go out any time soon, lol.
  4. Maybe shorten them up a little? I'm running: SNS 160gr RN coated 2.95gr of Titegroup Starline .38 Short Colt brass Federal SPP COL: 1.175" All measurements taken from a 5" 627: Av: 835 fps (133.6 PF) Min: 784 fps Max: 873 fps ES: 62 SD: 25 The SD number tightened up when I switched to a different gun; I think this one had on oversized charge hole. Changing to my 6" 627 upped the average speed to 848 (135.7 PF).
  5. Lol, fair enough. I've never DQ'd due to the 180; I think it's because my first year of shooting was all indoor matches with targets definitively downrange so it helped reinforce muzzle direction. Actually, I've never DQ'd with a revo, either... I only got myself in trouble when I tried to run a race gun with a 1.5 lb trigger, haha.
  6. Weak hand. Lots more twisting. I prefer to burn the second and finish my reload facing the right direction rather than trying to save time and risk a DQ, but obviously everyone has different strategies that work for them. Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
  7. How wonderfully constructive. It happens to a lot of people. The important thing is to learn from it.
  8. Happens to everybody. I don't reload revo when I'm moving backwards unless it's three steps or less (and I can do the "revolver shuffle"). If I have to run, I usually eject the moon at the forward position, turn, run back while dragging the gun, and then finish the reload once I've turned my hips/shoulders forward again. The revolver reload is too mechanically complicated to attempt while moving back with any kind of speed.
  9. Looks like Numrich is going to come through but I went ahead and cut this down anyway. Quite honestly, I'd be perfectly happy using a set of these for competition (though the Hawg 9 mags are better overall as they sit flush and hold more). The basepad is currently too long for BUG but will work in CCP. Obviously I can shorten it more if I want to.
  10. Yep, I was going to say the same: https://pinnaclehighperformance.com/
  11. I placed an order with Numrich. Like everyone else, they're backed up, but hopefully it will ship soon. On a hunch, I ordered a 10-round RP9 magazine. It seats, feeds, and ejects, but is too short to run without the plastic extension/base: I might trim down the base to sit flush with the bottom of the gun. I grabbed it used for $19 so I don't mind experimenting with it.
  12. Okay, really good to know. I might see if I can grab a tube on the cheap to experiment with; the extra length might still hold more than the wider 140 tube. At the very least, the same capacity but easier to reload would be worth it.
  13. So, for reasons beyond even my own comprehension, I built an open gun in .45 ACP. Runs great and fun to shoot, but I'm capped at around 16 rounds if I want reliable feeding (140 tubes, Dawson SNL basepads, Grams guts). I've been wondering if I could retrofit a 170mm .40 tube to work; they use the same followers, and obviously the basepads are the same. Where do the tubes differ? Is it just the lip dimensions (in which case I can simply open them up a little) or is the taper at the top of the mag totally different as well?
  14. I was fortunate enough to pick up some home gym equipment before COVID made all of the prices skyrocket. I've been doing something of a traditional split using dumbbells, a bench, and an exercise bike: All days - Mobility exercises (5-10 min), Cardio warmup (bike or heavy bag, 5-10 min) Monday - Legs + bike for half an hour Tuesday - Back and biceps + bike for half an hour Wednesday - Chest and triceps + bike for half an hour Thursday - Shoulders and delts + bike for half an hour Friday - Cardio (typically bike for an hour) Saturday - Pickup work (typically biceps, triceps, shoulders and delts) and cardio for an hour Core has a dedicated exercise on each day as well as being incorporated into compound movements. I've seen some results with this plan over the last few months but I've been looking into changing things up lately. I've been doing a lot of reading on push/pull routines and trying to figure out if I can make one work using what I have at home (with the addition of resistance bands and anchors). I'm also leaning toward dropping a set from every exercise (typically doing 4x12) and going to failure with heavier weight. It's always nerve-wracking to change things since I don't want to lose any progress but I guess I can always change it back.
  15. Awesome, I'll look for it at Mile High!
  16. Awesome, thanks! I'll picked up a Fusion bobbed hammer.
  17. Howdy e'rrybody. Little bit of a weird question. I picked up my first Para (and first 80 series) recently - a Hawg 9 that I'm considering running in IDPA BUG. I may need to reduce the length a little to get it to fit in the box so I was considering a smaller grip safety and bobbed hammer. I noticed that Para uses a strange "nosed" design on their half-cock notch, as seen below: (Para hammer on top, Brazos trigger on bottom) Does anyone know why they do this? Would I be able to replace it with a standard hammer, and/or need to grind one down to match?
  18. That thing looks like it came straight from the depths of hell (in the best possible way). Is the notch in front of the rear just for weight reduction? Are you still shooting this one this season?
  19. 100% agree. I went into it thinking that the stages looked way easier than the State championship last year (no exercise bikes, baby carriers, etc) but really, they were equally as tricky without being gimmicky. Even the props/gimmicks that were used, like the pool table, were integral to stage planning and not a pointless challenge element. I also appreciated that static targets were usually in close enough proximity to movers that you had the option of going activator-static-mover or activator-mover-static (as a revo dude... I usually did the latter, haha). Lots of ways to cut up the stages and scaled well to us capacity-challenged folk. Easily the best IDPA match I've shot.
  20. I'm not surprised. They always have "CSEC Standards", a standards-type stage with targets at 5, 7, 20, and 30 yards. You shoot two strings, one all freestyle, one weak-weak-strong-strong and the remainder freestyle. Broke my match last year (down almost 40) but managed to not stink up the joint this year. Tons and tons of double drop turners and disappearing bobbers and leaners, including a few where two disappearing targets were triggered from the same popper Several instances of reload traps if you weren't counting rounds Everything around us was on fire and the air quality was approximately "the inside of a Traeger grill"
  21. I managed to snag a Hawg 9 in really nice shape from the local gun shop and my (stupid) brain is telling me to get more mags and shoot it in IDPA BUG division. Unfortunately, the factory 12-rounders seem to be non-existent on the free market. Are there any alternatives I can look at? Were there any other Paras that used this size of mag? There's one guy on eBay selling mags, but they're longer mags that are capped at 10 rounds with a grip sleeve added. Basically, the worst of all possible combinations. Any help/leads are appreciated!
  22. Hope everyone was safe and had a good time. That was a challenging, but fun match. Obligatory Joyce picture - thanks, Joyce!
