  1. I have a related question. I'm going to present it as a scenario for ease of explanation. T1 is obscured by T2, a partial target that has painted black hardcover. The shooter fires one shot that passes wholly through T2's hardcover into T1, then moves and fires two more shots into T1. The hits on T1 are 1A, 1C, and 1D, and it's not possible to discern which shot travelled through T2's hardcover into T1. Given 9.1.5.1, how should T1 be scored? I'm sure this is in the rulebook somewhere but I can't get the correct term to find it when searching.
  2. I haven't actually played with it yet. Waiting on some range ammo to get here and then I'll let you know!
  3. I can't be the only one who makes odd, some would say "questionable", decisions with their firearm purchases and/or modifications. Let's see 'em! Ridiculous purchases, guns that you have waaaay to much work/money into, firearms that are intentionally hilarious/hideous/etc, whatever! Here are some of mine... 10-22 YAR-ger (sold, alas) I bought a Ruger Charger and realized it's... kinda stupid. So I hacked up a stock and made it even stupid...er. Pinky the 1911 I bought a 9mm SA 1911, had it tri-topped, and then refinished in pink (okay, "rose gold") TiN. The real joke of this one is it's actually a beast in competition. Tacti-Awesome .22LR 1911 I bought a GSG 1911 a while ago but never had much love for it. So I figured... let's get stupid! I added a ZR Tactical accurizing kit (a must-have on these guns), Recover Tactical grip kit, magwell, Chinese knockoff light, and no-name red dot. It's actually really fun to shoot now. And... this thing. I bought a Heritage Rough Rider in .22LR for $60 once. It was terrible. Heritage fixed it. It was less terrible, but wildly inaccurate. So... I added a rail to the top and mounted a long eye relief scope. I'm not totally sure that I can zero it yet given how it has a slight forward cant...
  4. I can join this club now! NAA Sidewinder in .22 Mag:
  5. Me too. This was after emailing them, as well; otherwise it would have been radio silence.
  6. I was told my order from 9/9 "might ship by the end of February".
  7. That's a huge part of it. There's a lot to learn about the nature of long/multi-day matches too, down to silly things like how you manage your water/calorie intake.
  8. Train like you fight or something...? You can probably guess which is the competition gun and which is the carry gun. I rock this guy in the summer and/or when my clothes don't allow for the Rhino:
  9. I think the lack of primers is starting to wear on everyone's sanity...
  10. I'll be there! Definitely shooting, probably helping out in some capacity. It's a great match.
  11. I completed the DAO conversion on the 6" gun: Replaced "cocking lever" (hammer) with spurless version Removed cocking linkage and spacer Removed single action sear and replaced it with a bushing from Chiappa Quite honestly, it doesn't change much (if anything) about the trigger pull. I believe this is because the hammer/linkages don't interact with the single-action components unless you actuate the cocking lever. S&W is certainly the simplest. I like the Rhino now that I've been inside of it a bunch; my main complaint is the mainspring. Since one leg drives the hammer and one leg drives the trigger return, it's very difficult to tune - all adjustments are relational instead of direct. Chiappa also doesn't sell the lighter "competition" spring by itself so I've been mangling one of the two copies I have. They sell the stock spring, and I've tuned one of those down a few pounds, but it's rated differently and impossible to get as light as the competition one.
  12. That's a good price in the non-Rona world. You'd definitely make it back if you chose to part with it.
  13. Your vest might get stuck . (But no. Each moon has to be individually retained; you can't even stack two on one post)
  14. Glad to hear it! I'm now on Week 20 of waiting for Gallant to ship...
  15. I think that's a fair assessment, lol. Nice score!
  16. I've seen more WMR around than I have LR, at least. Both are pretty scarce right now. I've had some luck at Murdoch's on 92nd and Wadsworth as well as Scheel's. You may also want to give Westminster Arms a call - they've had more ammo than any shop I've been to lately, but who knows if that's still true given how things are going.
  17. I haven't tried their speedloader pouches, but I'm over the moon with my Master-Tac moonclip holders. Maybe take a gander? https://master-tac.com/mdse.html
  18. I'm not a ballistician but I'm gonna say... yes. Just be sure to video the outcome. Are 617's that rare? I didn't think they were particularly hard to find (well, compared to everything else right now) but I admittedly haven't looked in a while.
  19. True! I was looking at my shooting history and not my dashboard, the latter of which simplifies things (it just shows your most recent classification rather than including what type it was). Thanks for the affirmation.
