Targets can easily be scored after “range is clear” and before the stage is even reset. There really is no need to score targets while the stage is being shot. The argument that this type of scoring somehow makes the match go faster is nonsense. Yes, the RO and scorekeeper get done real quick, and then wait for the stage to be reset. Like many of us who have been doing this for a while, I saw this basic change in how scoring is done happen a few years ago. Like many, I didn’t like scoring while the stage is being shot, but I eventually gave up trying do get shooters to do it “the right way”. As long as the guy with the tablet doesn’t get himself shot, I’m ok.

I just put in a new 17 lb spring, not a 19. Primers where individual 100 packs, 50 in a brown case.

I had similar light strikes with ginex in an svi with much the same configuration as you describe. Slightly high primers may have been part of the issue, but replacing the 17 lb mainspring, with 10k rounds on it, made all the difference. Maybe they are just a little tougher than the winchesters I have always used.

If no one shoots production, who cares? No one shoots revolver but it has been around, dead, for a long time. Some folks like to shoot it. Who cares. Why is everyone clamoring to get rid of low usage divisions? Why does that matter?

How about a division called “Everything Else” so we don’t go thru this stuff about new guns every year or so.

I don’t recall getting an email from uspsa asking for feedback before. I’ve been a member for over 20 years. I think I would have remembered.

How many stages in one day is too much? Seems like many Level 2’s are now becoming one day matches. Thoughts?

Long ago at area 2 a guy on my squad was shooting production. He bitched and called for the RM once to many times. RM looked at him and said “Your mag pouches are in front of your hip, you’re in Open now.” Whining stopped.

I think the addition of optics, as in pcc and carry optics, is a contributing factor in making shots more difficult on stages. Optics have pretty much taken over, and I have seen at least one MD who shot carry optics who intentionally made a lot of shots very difficult in order to “challenge” carry optics. I have no idea if this is prevalent or not. “Make it hard for the rifles” is sometimes heard.

Easy out tool, if there is one small enough. But I don’t know about drilling the broken bit to start the easy out. Maybe too hard.

I only shoot Limited major. I’m 70 and the eyes are worn out. I can’t do much of anything close up without readers. I shoot using full frame reading glasses (not bifocals) and I have for years. The sights are in focus perfectly, the targets can be a little blurred, that doesn’t matter much. And I very much enjoy beating a lot of folks with optics.

Many scam now on primers. Simple rule: if they done take credit cards, it is scam.
