Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Well, I got the phenomenon of set back, but without any split cases. My 4x fired Federal (largely from American Eagle). I can understand that work hardening could result in low neck tension and set back even without splits - if you consider that a possibilty.
  2. If I may thread jack a bit - is this increased susceptibility to bullet set back a normal symptom of well used brass? Many thanks.
  3. Yes, but I would not classify that as "in stock". Their ill-defined lead time is indicative of the tight supply. I scored one last week from Bear Basin.
  4. I bought mine at OpticsPlanet.com. I had called the Swaro offices and they said that were filling back orders first. Took about 2 months at the end of 2008. I have the same one you are looking for, I love it! Doug They don't list it on their web page.
  5. Part # 59136; illuminated circle dot; normal, non-extended eye relief. SWFA took my order on line, only to e-mail me back and say they were out of stock. Does anybody know of a reliable vendor with stock? Many thanks.
  6. I'm not going to be 3-gunning, but from what I've read here, you are the right folks to ask. I've got a 16" LWRC in 5.56, and I shoot on a range at 25, 50, 100, and 150 yards. I'm looking for an optic that will allow me to both perform high speed shooting into silhouette targets at 25 yards, and shoot groups off a bench at 100 yards well enough to evaluate differences in ammunition. If you think that's already too much to ask of one optic, stop me now. I'm very interested in the TR24, and so basically my question regarding the reticles is which would be the best compromise? Would the triangle be too imprecise for me at 100 yards? Would the German #4 with dot be too slow up close? What is the size of the dot? Is the answer too dependant on the shooter to say? Am also interested in the Swarovski Z6i 1-6x, because of the greater magnification. How would that reticle work for my application? Does anybody know what the size of the dot is here? Many thanks, Joe
  7. So this is what happens when I leave? Gee, what kind of club isn't open to ALL IDPA shooters?
  8. Used extensively in IDPA with a Glock 17; loved every minute of it: 4.2 grains W231; 124 grain West Coast Round Nose; 1.105" x 0.377" 1043 fps; 25 fps extreme spread; standard deviation 7 fps; PF 129.3. Tried it in my 9mm 1911 and didn't like it at all.
  9. My IR screens have always worked great, and I have better luck outside if I use them. I've had some problems with sensors going bad, on a couple of occassions, and have gotten absolutely exemplary customer service out of CED.
  10. Forgot to mention that my left hand trigger finger mag release is also facilitated by a cut-down mag release button, bevelled mag release button hole, and a light mag release spring.
  11. I swear most semi's are set up better for left handers to begin with. I'm doing what Sac Law Man described. I think moving the left thumb below the safety also makes turning the gun for mag insertion easier. For slide lock reloads, after using the trigger finger on the mag release, I put it on the slide lock lever, and get that slide forward right after the mag insertion.

    S&W Match?

I tried, but that link comes up almost unintelligably for me.

    S&W Match?

Pete, As I recall (and that's not saying much) IDPA was always the last to post the Winternationals results. Harry (downzero.com) and/or Smith & Wesson themselves would have them long before. How about Harry? Would he still be up for it? Sorry for pestering - I'm just incredibly interested, as this used to be my main match and I know alot of people who shoot it. And as more and more people are discovering, it is a quality match. 2cats

    S&W Match?

Jesus tap-dancing Christ. Isn't it a 5 minute job to cut and paste and add this to a web page?

    S&W Match?

Are the results going to be disseminated by a chain letter this year?
