I'm not going to be 3-gunning, but from what I've read here, you are the right folks to ask. I've got a 16" LWRC in 5.56, and I shoot on a range at 25, 50, 100, and 150 yards. I'm looking for an optic that will allow me to both perform high speed shooting into silhouette targets at 25 yards, and shoot groups off a bench at 100 yards well enough to evaluate differences in ammunition. If you think that's already too much to ask of one optic, stop me now.
I'm very interested in the TR24, and so basically my question regarding the reticles is which would be the best compromise? Would the triangle be too imprecise for me at 100 yards? Would the German #4 with dot be too slow up close? What is the size of the dot? Is the answer too dependant on the shooter to say?
Am also interested in the Swarovski Z6i 1-6x, because of the greater magnification. How would that reticle work for my application? Does anybody know what the size of the dot is here?
Many thanks,
Joe
