  1. Found this on another forum.. Jim Boland passed away Dec 26, 2004.. I met him once at a match in California...I loved his pistolsmithing work..guns with a very high cool factor... From his stepdaughter on the 1911forum: Information on Jim Boland ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I did a search today on my stepfather Jim Boland and came across an old thread here about him, more importantly people looking for him. I wanted to inform people that he died the day after Christmas this year, 2004 from a heart attack. He was living in Lancaster California at the time and was working mainly in the movie industry building guns and explosives for movie sets. As some of you may know, he was a master in the field and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. There will be a service held in Lancaster on the 22nd. for him if anyone is interested. Sincerely, Kristi

    Bedell Gun Porn

ahhhh..very nice looking... I am feeling the need for a new open gun...
  6. I like being able to remove the grip without disturbing the tape..usually install grip tape while off the gun..then punch holes, then assemble.. oh... Erik nice looking gun too..
  7. that's the beauty of photography... technique gets you only so far..the rest is artistry and your personal vision.. cameras, lenses, film ( pixles ), light are only the tools of which we can use to create and envision..
  8. I gave it a try.. it pixelizes in the shadows if you push it too hard..but you can see the gun a little better
  9. here is the link to the online reload data... http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5013 Here is Jeff's site..which is included in the above thread http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5013 9x21 and 9mm data will work well with the .356TSW..if I remember the cartridge was designed to fit the 9mm platform guns and to work around the 9x19 major restriction at the time...

TGO's lightened 6" DK's SW PC 1911 Max's open gun Matt B's open gun.. great stuff...thanks..any other photos you could post up???
  13. That grip is striking..nice makeover.. this used to be Jim's website http://www.aps.3av.com/
  14. Yup. I suspect, though, that a little creative work to the holster with a dremel tool could fix that. A good heat gun will loosen the kydex right up and mold it to you gun..just not too much or you'rr have a puddle..

  19. Dang...I was getting geared up to go this year, after not being able to shoot this match in awhile..That is a great range..hope someone has the finances to own this beauty... POSTED ON THE SAN JUAN RANGE WEBSITE: From: Paul Miller To: steve@americanhandgunner.com Sent: Tuesday, November 23, 2004 1:50 PM Subject: World Shootoff Championship Dear Steve, First of all, thanks for the many years (13) of sponsoring the World Shootoff!! All of you at American Handgunner have been wonderful to work with. With Kerry Miller's passing on September 11, 2003 things are much more difficult to keep up with, as we each used to work 100 hours a week! Now that I will be eligible for Social Security in June, it is time to slow down a little. SO....the 2005 STI / American Handgunner World Shootoff Championship will be put on hold until 2006. I hope by that time a Buyer will step forth and purchase the San Juan Shooting Range! At that time, if they wish, I will help get the match back on track. A special thanks to all the GREAT sponsors and shooters who have helped make the match such a success! Thank you again and God bless all of you!!
  20. Ron.. face it..you are pretty damn good shooter...you deserve what you get...if you do well..you do well.. If you shoot a dang GM score on the first run..you my friend are a GM..
  21. I saw report last night..about 12am to 1am my time..the channel 4 station in Columbus..they backed off a lot of the information that they gave in the first hours.. some of the info was on the damageplan website..which went down this morning and is now back up http://www.damageplan.com/ http://www.pantera.com/
  22. Travis had made some mention on Max's website about trying to proto some .40 mags for the caspian... He also shows a modification he has using Dawson pads... http://www.maxmichel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=107
  23. some pretty good photos of Robbies Metallic sight Bianchi gun on his website http://www.robleatham.com/ 6" lightened slide..bull barrel..big rear sight..perhaps a PPC type sight where you can preset your zeros for specific distances..big magwell to keep mags off the ground.. I linked to the photos since they are copyrighted..
  24. I forgot the name of that place..The Ritz.. I had a buddy that hung with them a lot..and he would drag me to the club after we got off work at 11pm in Fort Worth and drive over... Saw them a few years ago when they played Red Rocks..first time my wife saw them..she was actually impressed..what cool guys they were when we met up them after the show..
  25. Sad...really sad.. don't know if anyone else was a Pantera fan..but two of the former members were shot and killed while playing on stage in Columbus..Dimebag Darrel and Vinnie Paul they were part of a band name Damage Plan and were set to tour nationally.. I remember in my youth hanging out in a bar on the eastside of Fort Worth..when these guys were a great copy band..and hanging in the garage listening to rehearsals.. anyway..just some kids from my youth..that made it big doing something they loved..fun..not my thing all the time..but still.. sometimes people really suck... http://www.nbc4i.com/news/3983630/detail.html
