  1. Ballpark figure for the cost? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  2. Do they mill the slide “square”? Meaning you may still need that 1 degree shim? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  3. For most USPSA duty, I’d think a Stock III would do most everything a Stock II does. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  4. For me, it’s not losing the dot when shooting, it’s getting the dot when doing unusual things... like drawing for weak hand only shots... the bigger glass helps a bit. Sure, dry fire training the hell out of it will help, but in odd circumstances you haven’t trained to death, the big lens is valuable.... also it can speed up your dry fire training as you are learning the dot. 5. I wouldn’t trade my Lim pro for a Shadow 2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Not sure it’s the “best”, but I’m still liking my Vortex Venom. The price is right, the warranty can’t be beat, and short my an error of mine, it still kicking, and holding zero. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  7. How much time was wasted explaining why you don’t like the question, and defending yourself as some thought you looked like a jerk? Copy/Paste links that can help. Pick your battles... penny wise/pound foolish and all that.
  8. I really dislike grease in most places on guns. Frog lube is a decent corrosion inhibitor, but doesn't do much for wear... reportedly gums things up when Cold. On areas that are prone to wear, I'll drop in a good oil (Mobil 1 is fine. As are most synthetics...) on the rest, I'm mainly worried about corrosion resistance, so they get corrosion X.
  9. If the only attribute you are interested in is how grippy they are, the most grippy are the "lava" grips. Their first run of grips for the Tanfo large frame competition guns were a little too thin, reportedly, he has beefed them up a bit since.
  10. They are much more common in Europe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  11. No, those ones I have seen are all for small frame Tanfos. There is no way these even come close for a large frame. I don't buy the Tango tolerance argument as EVERY other grip I have purchased (Patriot defense, SSI Scales, Lava grips etc) Have all fit perfectly with zero fitting. These grips just do NOT fit the large frame Tanfos.
  12. I have the Toni grips, and unless those posted are new and made specifically for large frame Tanfos, they will need a good deal of fitting. I got mine to work, but if I was to somehow lose them, I wouldn't do it again. If they made them for large frame, I would try them again. Until then, the LOK Grips promised to come out and the Patriot Defense grips are tops in my book.
  13. Save for the fact that I would never intentionally run dry if I had extra mags on my belt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Of all the colors offered, wondering why no red/black... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  15. LOL! Because in da streetz, you want your gun to be completely useless while you reload [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  16. Go with the 9. I switch them out when they start to have trouble getting into battery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  17. As did my Lim Pro... though not absolutely consistently... so I filed a little on the slide release. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  18. On mine, I put a small ball of epoxy putty into the detent the original screw used. I used red loctite on the threads, and green loctite on the dovetail. Still holding after a few thousand rounds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  19. Love it!!! Hoping for a decent palm swell! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  20. For cleaning, "Oil Eater" works amazingly well, is cheap as hell, and is not flammable, or toxic, nor does it hurt aluminum. Also prevents rust so after cleaning, you don't have to an oil bath like you do with most ultrasonic cleaners.... I just run it in a small 6 gallon parts washer. 21. Rotella T6 (5w-40) and Corrosion-X I have found that contrary to popular belief, grease does NOT stay where you put it when the firearm cycles, and really holds onto dirt. Corrosion X goes on small springs and things to prevent corrosion, it creeps into small places well. T6 is my lubricant of choice because I use it in my cars. If I need an extra drop or 2 on the rails or something, I keep a small bottle of the corrosion-X in my bag. The T-6 is designed to suspend carbon....not sure what that means in a handgun, but that and/or the detergents sure make cleaning a breeze. In wear tests I have done the T6 was 2nd only to a rather thick industrial lubricant (Mobil SHC-634) but that stuff is too thick for guns IMO, and the T-6 was very close. I've used Corrosion-X for decades, only adding the T6 after doing tests on a large number of gun lubes, CLPs, and greases. (AMsoil Motorcycle oil seems pretty good as well, came in 3rd.) My tests were a plain ring (think hole saw with no teeth) onto a bar of steel, and a small weight (about #5) on the handle of the press. Other tests show how much effort is needed to stop a spinning bearing....mine shows wear on the bearing with a constant pressure. Take it for what it's worth.
  22. I'm betting there aren't many who sneak in a 147mm mag for limited or CO or bigger sticks than legal in open.. Sure, if someone wants to sneak a few bigger than allowed sticks, and swap them out with the sticks they were checked on (at majors), yeah, they could do that. Which is more likely, a competitor buying a bunch of legal AND illegal sticks and swapping them out depending on where/when they might be gauge checked, or a competitor over filling a mag by a couple rounds if/when the cheater can?
