  1. Josh how often do you change the followers? I also use the same setup using STi tubes. However lately I have been getting paranoid about the SV followers popping out during a match. (knock on wood!) When I disassemble the mag to clean it, the followers pop off from the spring at the slightest touch. A friend has epoxied the follower to the spring but it usually means it's stuck in there permanently. Is there anything that you do to keep it in place? Thanks in advance!
  2. Don't want to hi-jack this thread but what other barrels would you recommend that is comparable to the Krieger? Thanks in advance!
  3. This might be a good opportunity for you to get a new Wilson...since your old one will be "hers"
  4. How come I can't find the SV rear sights at the SV website anymore? It used to be there, but I think they took it off? I'm thinking of getting one....
  5. Eric, I'm trying to find that folding cart from Lowes online, but I can't find it. By any chance do you know the exact name of it?
  6. I love this thread. It's almost a year since the last post, aren't there anymore stories?
  7. They look interesting, however I'm confused with all the options Would the lower blade height be better than the higher blade height? What about the bladestyle? Also is a lower mount/base be better for IPSC/USPSA or is this for duty/carry firearms? Can someone help a newbie like me??
  8. I'm worried about the small springs in the AFTEC....or shouldn't I? I'm also currently unsure of which extractor to get. Wouldn't the regular extractor be more reliable because its just one part? The AFTEC and the SV are the same price.....i'm lost as to which to get
  9. Does Brazos actually make their own trigger kits? Or are these from a manufacturer and Brazos tunes them before selling them? Just curious I've been wanting to try one of these. Would the Brazos hammer be comparable to the Koenig in weight?
  10. gotm4, have you shot it yet? Looks really good!
  11. Great job! What did you use to wipe the tip of the solder?
  12. Hi I'm a rifle newbie trying to learn as much as I can before I set up a rifle for IPSC. The Larue Upper is said to be "no M4 feedramps". What does this mean? I thought the feed ramps are supposed to be on the barrel and not the upper? Does this mean you can't use this upper with a barrel that has M4 feedramps? Thanks in advance
  13. I have 2 SPS tubes which I got about 2 years ago. I haven't been using them in a match because they're not very reliable. I always have jams (usually double feeding). I load my ammo at 1.180 OAL....could this be what is causing the problem? I'm using grams guts and SV (type) wedge pads.
  14. Maybe your primers are not seated deep enough. If the primers are even a little "high", it will cause light strikes. As the firing pin hits the primer it tends to push it down instead of igniting it. Try to put your ammo on a flat surface. Then gently push at it. If the ammo rocks back and forth, then your primers are too high. Hope this helps.
  15. Hey Bob, its been more than 6 months.....any new pics? I'm contemplating on having a sight tracker built as well so I'm really curious as to how yours has worked out.
  16. I also have mine set up at 2.5 hoping it will wear to around 2
  17. The notch for the mag catch isn't in exactly the same place on STI and SV tubes (at least sometimes anyway). If you get a small file and remove some metal from the top of the notch in the mag body (just a little at a time) as well as a little from the front section, you'll quickly get to where it will seat like your STI mags. File a little, try seating it and repeat until it works properly. R, Thanks G-Man. Hmm...I only have 1(one) SV mag, I'm kinda scared to do what you just described. I'm worried if I ruin it, I'll be out of an 18 reloadable When you say "top of the notch", you mean the hole where the mag catch "hooks" on to the mag correct?
  18. I also have an STi Edge. When it was new, my problem was FTE. I brought the gun to a smith and he tuned my extractor. After that the gun was flawless. I'm currently running STi mags with ISMI springs, and SV red followers. So far so good. I have a new SV mag with the same internals, and you really need to tune your magcatch or else it will bind if you press it hard during a match. I have been experimenting with the SV mag and so far the problem is seating the mag during a match. It does tend to fall out unless you really give it a solid smack. If you need help, pm me and I'll try my best to see what I can do for you. I'm also here in the Philippines.
  19. I think Eric Grauffel carries those too in his website. Looks cool!
  20. You mean the pouches have magnets to help retention? Thats pretty cool!
