  1. The Xtreme parts are identical to your factory parts other than the finish. This goes for the interrupter, sear housing, and firing pin. The reason for this was Eric G. and Tanfo needed a way to market parts to the IPSC crowd that could be polished without being to noticeable since polishing is not allowed from what I've gathered. We have noticed you can get a better polish on the Xtreme pin over the factory pin due to it being precision ground rather than CNC turned like the factory pin.
  2. You do not need to change the sear housing when using a 1 piece sear, just give it a really good polish and you'll be good to go.
  3. I know the couple dozen that we have had come through doing trigger work to have had short chambers and the starting lands area seems tighter than SAAMI spec.
  4. Bevin is the guy to talk to, he's using a custom reamer to his specs and its right on the money for Tanfo guys. I had a pretty in depth conversation with him last week and it sounds like just about every barrel he has gotten from a tanfo was out of spec....
  5. I've reached out for that additional information, more than likely it was brought to their attention by us bringing it up to them. Best thing to do is have your barrel reamed properly and move along......
  6. Finally heard back from Tanfoglio on this topic and they claim they had an issue with the "Tooling" which i take it was their reamer.......... They have stated it has now been corrected, soooooooo i guess we're all good now.
  7. Great information John, good to see others performing some "3rd party" testing on the parts and different configurations available to the Tanfo line.
  8. Glad your happy with the outcome of your gun ? Guys having light strike issues, have you checked your barrels chamber? We're seeing a lot of the newer guns having chambers that are out of spec and this contributes to light strikes.
  9. Johnbu- you need to stop hacking into our R&D folder and looking at our latest Tanfo projects........ A heavier extended firing pin is close fellas, hopefully by weeks end we'll have something to show for.
  10. I've reached out to Eric G. as he's the closest person I know to someone at Tanfoglio. I've also reached out to EAA regarding the issue as well...... Time will tell
  11. Nunez, how's your gun running now after the barrel was reamed to spec?
  12. Not as of now, we'll probably offer it to those who do trigger jobs through us. I'll start a new thread in our vendor section discussing his and who we trust with reaming your barrel as of now.
  13. With a bunch of new parts out on the market driving trigger pull weights to places many thought wouldn't be possible with the Tanfo platform some light strike issues have popped up. Many of the newer import guns we're seeing have barrels that are out of SAAMI spec. We're seeing tighter chambers, short/no free bore, and a smaller ID of the starting lands area of the rifling (might be due to the polygonal rifling) which could cause issues with coated bullets. Yes the crutch fix would be to load shorter but this doesn't address all the issues with your barrel. If your gun does fall into this category of an out of spec chamber it could cause your gun to sit slightly out of battery. This in return would cause light strikes or other issues. I've personally heard of a few guys that since have had their barrels reamed be able to drop down hammer spring weight and set off everything reliably. In conclusion make sure your ammo passes the plunk test and spins freely once it is in there, or if your able to cast a mold of your chamber. If your not able to run as light of springs as other due to light strikes this may be your area of concern.
  14. When will the BOLO thread open back up, you stated Monday its closed temporarily........

I will open it back up shortly...but at the first hint of anything like what got it closed the first time, I will close it and lock it for good. The kind of attitude that was exhibitied is not acceptable here on the forums

  15. Wes- From our own test and what other guys on the forum have found out the stock or Xtreme FP's hit harder than the Henning pins. Fish- That's a problem a lot of guys see when having to cut that much off your FP spring, i designed our FP spring to have a mechanical stop in it that prevents the FP from over traveling while still giving you a 50% reduction in spring rate over the EG spring. Not trying to make a sale here just a firm believer in the FP spring needing to be tuned to your hammer spring properly.
  16. i've had success with that combo but once again it depends on your polishing job. You need to cut your EG Light FP spring or get our new optimized FP spring to get the most out of the 12lb hammer spring as well.
  17. Move out from behind enemy lines and you might be able to find one.
  18. We're just south of Houston if your ever in the area.....
  19. Short stroke/trigger bar slipping under on the DA pull
  20. Matt that is correct, however you start getting into increased pre-travel if you dont know exactly what areas to hit.
  21. Just to elaborate a little more on the "lighter" trigger bar plunger springs that are being installed. When this is done you loose upward pressure on the trigger bar contacting the disco which allows it to break from the trigger bar earlier giving you a shorter DA throw. We saw a rash of these locally pop up when somebody in the Houston area recommended it and of course as Tanfo owners it caught like wild fire to chase the absolute lightest trigger (BOLO really does not like this due to its tight fitment). These guys have you going in the right direction, we get a slew of phone calls a day asking what springs work with what primers and unfortunately there are to many variables at play to have a go to answer for that. Parts installed, parts fitment, polishing, and primer seating depth all play a huge part as to what you will be able to consistently light off.
  22. Glad to hear, we've had the majority of issues with the DA short stroking caused by "lighter" or "clipped" springs in the trigger bar plunger. Mainly on the tighter newer guns, once they went back to factory springs they no longer blew through the DA and it's not even a real noticeable mod with a bolo installed. One thing for sure with tanfo's are you gotta get dirty and figure out what works in your particular gun.
  23. ryridesmotox- the reduced plunger spring wrecks havoc with guys running the BOLO, plus we don't see much benefit in that once a proper trigger job is done, and of course a BOLO installed ? SCTaylor- just trying to make shopping a little easier for you guys
  24. We should be rolling out our reduced power firing pin spring, reduced power trigger return spring, and reduced power sear spring by the end of the week. We also have a complete spring tuning kit that you guys have been asking for coming out as well to make your spring shopping needs easier. Be sure to check out our Vendor Forum as we'll update there. http://forums.brianenos.com/index.php?/forum/314-patriot-defense/
