  1. I'm going to second Daniel. That's what going on, switch it out and see if that works . I have the same issues when I'm shooting a glock except I grip the gun so high I actually have issues like your reporting with the standard release.... I put extra power magazine springs in the mag to help it lock back, if needed, for whatever reason
  2. I second everything said already. Match was very good, steel wasn't missed!
  3. On my Limited 35 I just took it off. I didn't bother cutting it off or cutting it down. No use for it anyway, if you plan your stages right you don't need one is USPSA.
  4. You have a couple options (in no particular order of importance)... 1) Change your grip 2) Change/mod the slide stop to a lower profile one 3) replace mag springs with extra power mag springs 4) Deal with it I delta with it for a while until, I tried a combination of #2 and #3. I put an extended mag spring in (cut 3 coils out of a 33rd spring) as well as cut the standard slide stop button in half vertically reducing its size by about 50% (and not forgetting to round the edges!!). The combination of those works for me, no issues no problem. I had issues of the slide not lock back almost every time prior to these mods. Now the slide locks back about 99% of the time.
  5. Has anyone heard of issues with the storm lake barrels not fitting in the Gen 4 models?
  6. Well, I'm kinda in the same boat. I do use the medium backstrap on the 34. However with that said I do still get slide bite because I hold up so high on the gun. But nothing compared to shooting a glock w/o a beavertail! Ha
  7. Welcome from just across 71 in Kings Mills.
  8. Thanks guys for all the comments. I just need to pick one, stop over thinking it and go. Flip a coin per say, let fate decide for me. In the SW Ohio area, much like elguapo said, limited and production are the two most popular. They have approximately the same numbers and talent. Both my production and limited guns have been pretty darn reliable. I currently don't reload, but looking at the numbers of rounds that I shot this year at factory pricing and comparing it to what I could've saved reloading, I'm getting one this winter. Going to set it up for both 40 s&w and 9mm and load as much as I can of both. I have about 7-8,000 9mm casings and 4,000 40 s&w casings.
  9. Recently new to USPSA as I am just wrapping up my first year of shooting and actually owning a gun too. As I sit down to make my plans, match schedule and goals out for next year, there is one conclusion I have yet to come to a consensus on.... What division to shoot next year. I started in production, moved to limited, back to production and so on. I've dabbled in both but can't seem to shake the dilemma of which division to shoot. I'm classified in both, I like different parts of each division, I'm reasonably happy with my performance on both but I can't seem to come to a conclusion. I'm at a point now where I just want to stick with a division, work on one and see where it gets me. Switching back and forth is hindering my performance in both. Any thoughts, comments, questions, insights are welcome. HIT ME! Thanks
  10. My Glock 34 with magazine inserted weighs in at 27.6-27.8oz. with a max weight of 28oz.
  11. Foxj66 thanks that's exactly what I was looking for. I won't be loading these to full capacity considering they will be used strictly for production with the TTI small basepads. As I have the 140mm TTI magazines for limited G35.
  12. S&W Sheild. 9mm. All Apex trigger parts. 10-8 rear black sights w/ white outlined tritium front sight.... On your six IWB carbon holster and x3 mag pouches. I actually have been it using to compete regularly in matches. Competing in ESP, CCP or BUG. It's fun and quite challenging. regularly finishing in the top 5-7 overall. It makes me work, instead of just shooting the match. Funny to see others reactions when you pull it out of your bag/cover garment. Not to mention seeing BUG next to your name somewhere up top of the overall leader board. And yes.... This is my summer carry.
  13. Did you do that yourself? Or did you send it out to SJC?
  14. Using a G34 in production, does anyone use extra power magazine springs? Either cutting a few coils off the 33rd mag spring or using a +x% spring? Thanks

    SJC magwell

Thanks , this is what I was needing to know. Same, thanks! I ordered the SJC. Well see how the fitting goes. I may be selling it when TTI gen4 magwell comes out... If it ever does

    SJC magwell

Taran makes a magwell now that works well with his base pads.http://tarantacticalinnovations.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=44_80 Not out yet for Gen 4

    SJC magwell

Yea me too... I'm down to the SJC or TTI magwell.
  18. Agreed. Depends on the stage and your plan. So many options (ill add some more to dirty the pot)... .wheres the table on relation to the starting position. -can you go back to the table -all paper or steel -what are the arrays like Give us some more info and we might be able to help...maybe a stage description or layout?
  19. Ill start.... First off read this, it'll help. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=180206 Secondly, 1. Guide rod? -- go with a SS. Gen 3 guide rods wont fit Gen 4. So you have 2 options. #1 buy a Gen 3 rod and a Gen 3 to 4 adapter or #2 buy a Jaeger gen 4 guide rod. 2. Sights?-- Anyone that'll suit your fancy. The questions is fixed or adjustable. I run fixed, personal opinion. Either warren, TTI or Dawson. plain black f/o front. 3. Trigger pull - connector? TTI grandmaster connector and spring kit. 4. Recoil spring weight -- up to your load and your shooting style. Most people go 11#-15#, I use 15#, most use 13# that's a safe bet. 11# may be too light possible out of battery detonation. Hope this helps!
  20. would be a good idea. I'm thinking about ordering a 9mm conversion barrel for my g35 to use as a back up to my 34
  21. Even on a gen 4? Would it be possible to put an extended mag release from a G41 onto a G34/35 (small frame) to make a "double extended" mag release?
  22. best I got. Nothing too bad... This thread should get interesting once it catches on
  23. I'm not the smallest or biggest guy out there. Don't really have to worry about the 2 inch rule... Plus its from the belt anyway, right? I was thinking the stand alone one, either on my belly at 12 or 1 or on my side at 9.
  24. I am planning on getting a magnet, too. would you guys recommend a stand alone magnet or one attached to a mag pouch?
