  1. Thanks for the reply guys. I was too going to carry 4. 3 on the belt + 1 in the gun. But, most around here carry 2 on the belt + 1 in the gun and to me that doesn't seem like enough, if x y and/or z happens you wont have any extra chance for error.
  2. Switching to limited... How many mags do you carry on you belt in limited? In production I carry 5 mags + 1 in the gun for 61 rounds. An equivalent capacity would be 2 mags + 1 in the gun. But is 3 mags enough? Should I do 4 for 81 rounds? Thanks
  3. Take it easy. Shoot more first. You don't know what you like or need yet. More ammo. More matches.I second that! More ammo more matches...You did good for your first time. But before you think about getting something else, you first work on your sight picture, trigger control, gun handling, reloading, stage planning etc.
  4. How much does weight matter in a magwell? I.E. 5oz vs 7oz. Would a lighter magwell provide for faster target transitions? Would Heavy magwell dampen felt recoil? What weight would be ideal?
  5. I second that... What gun are you shooting?
  6. Lets see.... Miami rifle pistol -- Batavia, OH (4th Sunday) Oxford (I.W.L.A.) -- Oxford, OH (1st Sunday) Miamisburg SI -- Miamisburg, OH (3rd Sunday) Pickaway county SI -- Circleville, OH (1st Saturday) Bluegrass sportsman league -- Wilmore, KY (1st and 3rd Sunday) Silver creek -- Sellersburg, IN (2nd Sunday) Hope this helps!
  7. Less than an hour drive he has Miamisburg, Miami rifle pistol and oxford. A hour and a half he has Pickaway county, Wilmore, and Bluegrass sportsmans league.Same thing for me... I sent you a PM OP
  8. I have a buddy that would be able to do it. PM me

    SJC magwell

Thanks guys for the reply. I'm still on the fence. Anyone else with experience with the SJC magwell modification (or hopefully a lack there of)?

    SJC magwell

Thanks for the reply. I would prefer the SJC. What type of minor modification would you say needed to be done. About the only thing I'm willing to do myself is drill a hole or groove for the pins on the basepad

    SJC magwell

Has anyone used a heavy SJC magwell with the TTI basepads without issue or modification? I've talked to a couple people on here and at the range that did have to mod them in order for them to work. But I don't know of anyone one who didn't, that it worked straight out if the box.... I don't mind doing a little work, but alot of work isn't worth it for me when I could just do the new TTI magwell coming out soon for the Gen 4. Right now id prefer the SJC, but narrowly over the TTI. Thanks EDIT: I did talk to Steave at SJC he said he's not aware of any issues with His magwell and TTI basepads fit
  12. I'm using the TTI extended +5 basepads. Currently TTI doesn't make a Gen 4 magwell, but I know its in the works... Idk how heavy it'll be though. I like the weight of the SJC and ZEV heavy brass
  13. Thanks, I might have to contact SJC. Thinking about that or the zev brass heavy. Debating.... Can you post pictures of where you had to modify them?
  14. Was the TTis because of the pins?
  15. Love bullets out! Made the switch at the beginning of the year... It feels so much smoother and natural "TO ME" but its not for everyone. I can get my index more consist and it forces me to keep my reload higher (don't ask me why!) I use the DAA pouches. In production start with the first pouch at 3 o'clock (rules say hip bone) and work your way back giving your hand ample space to grab the next mag... There's no exact position on where each one needs to go or should go just make it comfy and able to work for you! Good luck!
  16. Welcome from the cincy area!
  17. Thanks Daniel. Looks like that's the one. FYI got your trigger in 2 weeks ago, shot 2 matches so far... Awesome!! Thanks again EDIT: And 'Trouble' haha thanks
  18. Looking to get this holster for my new g35 limited rig. Anyone is it? Any modifications needed or is it pretty much ready to go when I get it? http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Super-Ghost-Ultimate-Holster-font-colorredRIGHT-HANDfont-P374.aspx Thanks

    Limited G35

I think the only thing I haven't decided on now is the barrel. I'm leaning towards not getting it right away though. But eventually getting a KKM. I keep waffling on it. Decided on the ZEV ultimate kit for trigger/internals. Picking up the 35 today from my FFL. Trying to decide if I want to order everything now or later, hum... Decisions ha
  20. I have a buddy who did... Honestly I don't know quite everything that he did, but I'm going to do my best! Converted to be shot SA with a competition hammer and a 1.75-2# trigger pull. Custom done by a guy in Dayton, Ohio. Magwell and grips bought from CZ custom. Grips were modified to be used with the magwell. I don't know what mag extensions he's using, but i know it doesn't hold many rounds, maybe 14-15 doing 3 reloads Per stage. I know that he's got a f/o front sight and an all black rear. No real issues to my knowledge. I can ask if you would like

    Limited G35

How big a difference does the heavy brass magwell make?
  22. Well congrats on the range officer! It's a great gun, my buddy actually just got done building one up for idpa esp, and its the best 1911 I've ever felt and shot hands down. It's pretty awesome! I think you'll be happy with it. Shoot whatcha got for now. Then later you'll know what you want to do and why. Instead of just upgrading because someone on here told you to. Not that the advice or parts anyone has offered you thus far is bad, it just may not be what you want in the long run. I think you should scrap the pouches and holster the gun comes with they'll do ok for beginning or practice. You might want to get a good comptac or bladetech holster. I wouldn't mind spending a little more money on this because if you buy a crappy one to "save money" you wont be. Youll end up getting a good one anyway. Anything from comptac or bladetech will be good. Belt wise you can't go wrong with DAA or CR speed. Mag pouches in SS I would shoot bullets out ( I do in production and limited ). Reason being 6 mags side by side by side will put the last mag on the other side of you spine, and that's a long reach. Bullets out allows you to put the pouches and mags closer. I would check with the person your renting from to confirm they are ok with it, being that close to a college campus. Shouldn't be an issue, but better safe than sorry. Once you get all you stuff, you can holster, reload and draw a loaded gun... Get out there the guys at any local uspsa club will help you out. Guide you in the direction you need to go. Find a mentor, and a couple shooting buddies, stick bu there side and you'll be having fun and doing great in no time. Just don't get too focused on shooting, uspsa is addicting, school is important too! Haha Anyone other questions just hollar, PM me if you want. Good luck --J
