  1. New one was just as bad, maybe even a little worse. Still rocks and rolls with a milspec trigger.
  2. Spoke to Steve from Elftmann on the phone. Very nice guy. They are going to swap it out for a new one.
  3. I installed the new Eftmann PCC 9mm trigger in my build and am having intermittent failure to reset. It can happen after one round or after several. This happens with all mags. I followed the install directions to a T and even removed it and reinstalled it again making sure tension on both screws was even and tight. No dice. Tried a DD milspec trigger and it runs like a champ. I have sent an email to Elftmann but have not heard back yet. After doing some research, this seems to be a common issue. Anyone with this issue get it resolved? Here is the build: Quentin Defense ARQ 9 receiver set JP short stroke bolt and SCS short stroke buffer
  4. That is what I figured with that stock. Instead of spending that kind of money only to have to modify it to work, I've just gone ahead and put a standard carbine buffer tube and stock on it. Thanks for the replies.
  5. I have a JP short stroke bolt and short stroke SCS on the way for my PCC build. Has anyone used this combination with the Odin ZULU 2.0 stock? My concern is the secondary spring in the buffer tube and if it will work with my bolt and buffer combo.
  6. I started at 44. The only regret I have is that I did not start sooner.
  7. Yup, looks like you nailed it. That would be it, not a gas cylinder plug.
  8. That is one of the gas cylinder plugs. Part of the gas system so yea, it won't function without you reinstalling it. Quick Google search will give you the info you need to do it. It's an easy job.
  9. Yes we will be. Western States has that every year.
  10. There is definitely no shortage of matches at this club. I'm very fortunate to have it as my home club.
  11. What is your motivation for carrying a compact on duty versus a full size? I carry an Atlas Titan Operator on duty and love it. It's a full-size gun. I personally decided not to carry an STI based on the reliability and customer service issues they have been having. My only worry with carrying the Atlas gun is if I am involved in an on duty shooting, my very expensive gun goes into evidence for months and I have to carry a Glock again.
  12. I own two Vortex Viper PST Gen II 1-6's. One is on my 3gun rifle and one is on the rifle I carry at work. The glass is great and I have been very happy with them.
  13. I have had a Titan Operator since September and it has been flawless. I have not had any issues with feed our extraction. I have been using strictly factory ammo, Speer Lawman 124gr and Speer Golddot 124gr. I have one 124mm and 3 140mm mags from Atlas. The fit and finish was superior when I received it. This is my primary duty weapon and I would not carry it if I had any concerns. I did have to return the slide for a lower front sight but that is part of tweaking the gun to me. Adam turned it around in two days. I think the biggest problem people are running into is tuning the gun for the ammo they have or working up a round for the gun. Adam and I discussed what ammo I would be shooting the most of and he built and tested the gun for it. Because of that, it runs like a top. 2011s need tuned to the ammo.
  14. I had the same issue when I first got my Sig max. That set screw locks the elevation adjustment screw on the top of the sight. If the set screw is loose, the elevation adjustment screw can and will turn while firing. Sight the gun in again and lock down tight that set screw. Add a little blue locktite if it will not stay. I tightened mine down considerably without locktite and it has been fine since.
  15. My maglula works well on all my Gen2 .40 and 9mm mags with no modifications.
  16. Remove the series 80 parts and install the filler plate from Brownells. It's the standard size. The internals are EGW, so you should not need to touch them. I have the same pistol and this is all I did to it. Made a big difference with the trigger.
  17. Same, standard width. .057 width. https://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/frame-parts/frame-hardware/fillers/frame-slot-filler-standard-057--sku876011780-13121-31597.aspx?sku=876011780
  18. In all fairness, I have had this particular guide rod for a couple of years and it has a lot of rounds on it. My new Atlas gun came with one and I am not concerned about it. I like them and they work well. Anything mechanical has the ability to fail. I spoke with Dawson Precision on the phone and even after two years, they gave me an RMA number and will either repair or replace it. I cannot ask for anything more than that. Their customer service has always been great and they keep me as a customer for it.
  19. Dawson Tool-less guide rod broke during my 2nd stage of Area 2 yesterday. It locked the recoil spring into the compressed position so of course, the slide would not return. Thankfully it happened on the very last target and I only needed to get off two shots. It took a second to figure out what was going on and my HF took a serious beating. The only silver lining is that another shooter had a spare guide rod and my gun was up and running for the next stage. My first time ever to have a gun go down during a match and of course it would have to happen during an Area match..lol Guess what will be in my spare parts kit from now on?
  20. I have about 1,000 rounds through it which encompasses a couple of training sessions at work, a couple of Tuesday Night Steel matches, and firing it just to get the feel for it. It has been a mix of Speer Lawman 124gr and Speer GoldDot 124gr +p. Hands down the best shooting gun I have fired. With the Lawman ammo, the sights do not move and they only slightly move with the +p. This thing just shoots flat. Those that have watched me shoot it, that is always their first observation, how flat shooting it looks. It does have some weight to it but that helps getting the sights back on target. I do not notice it during the course of my shift anymore than I did the G17. The grip is awesome. Ergonomically, it fits my hand much better than the Glock and is much more comfortable. The rubberized grip tape is grippy and I do not have to worry about it tearing up my uniform. It's a very comfortable grip and it stays put in my hand. The slide moves like it is on ball bearings. Every thing else about the gun is just as good. My required 4 lb trigger breaks clean and crisp and you would think it was much lower. If you're looking to purchase some thing like it, you can buy with confidence. This is an excellent firearm and I am still blown away by it every time I shoot it. So much so that I have even considered shooting Limited Minor at the upcoming Area 2 Match just so I can shoot it, it shoots that well.
  21. Tripp Research has their Navigator in .40. I have seen and handled a couple of them and they are very nice guns.
  22. Here's my idiot moment with the new gun and this info might help someone else. One of my main motivators to purchase an Atlas Titan Operator was to carry it on duty. After ordering it, I spoke with other 1911/2011 carriers and the consensus was that the Safariland holster made for a Springfield TRP Operator was the one to get. I ordered it and had it waiting when my Atlas arrived. I had an old Streamlight TLR-1 that I had removed from a rifle and put it on the pistol and checked the holster fit. It was a no go. No way was that going into the holster. Talk some more and try a Surefire X300 as it's not as wide as the Streamlight. I can't even get the light to attach to the pistol. Upon closer inspection, the rail adapter on both lights is way too wide for the accessory rail on the gun. Both adapters are 1913 adapters. The Streamlight was able to grip the sides of the rail just enough to give the impression of proper mounting. After much head scratching, I have the ah ha moment and remove the Streamlight from my current duty gun, a Glcok 17 and it fits like a glove. Test the gun in the holster and it goes right in and locks. Moral of the story, make sure your light is mounted properly to ensure a correct fit in the holster and not all accessory rails on handguns are 1913..lol
  23. This will be my first level 3 match. I am very much looking forward to it and I am one of the Limited shooters..lol
