  1. For every 3gun match I have shot, including Superstition Mountain Mystery 3gun this year, 6x was plenty. 8x advantage would have been negligible.
  2. Another thumbs up for the Viper PST Gen II in 1-6. I own two, run one in 3gun, and for the money, it can't be beat.
  3. I just looked and none of my wholesalers have them in stock. So it looks to be an issue on EAA's end. I would surmise EAA only runs these so many times a year. You'll probably have to wait until the next scheduled production run of them.
  4. Vortex's torque screw driver set is very nice and easy to use, I have one.
  5. If you shoot at Rio, I should have my Atlas in 9mm in about a month, month and a half. You're welcome to take a look at it when I have it.
  6. I would caution against just dumping your Limited gear and guns. I started out just like most people in Limited. Then I got a great deal on a SS and shot that for several months. What I found was that I progressed much quicker in USPSA shooting the SS. Concentrating on making every shot count made me a much better shooter. It was a night and day difference the next time I shot Limited. Depending on my mood and the fact I have the opportunity to shoot several matches a month, I'll shoot either Limited or SS. I won't ever ditch the gear for any of the divisions I shoot.
  7. My Sig Max shoots flat nose .40 factory ammo with no issues. In fact, it eats up Blazer aluminum cased ammo just fine. My Tripp and Wilson mags have been flawless. I shoot in the desert, so dust is always an issue. When I shot the Western States Single Stack Classic back in February, I did nothing more than wipe down the outside of dropped mags during the match. I had no issues. I will agree with that if you expect the same results with an off the shelf RIA 1911 and no name mags, you will be sorely disappointed. You cannot run around with a Ford Pinto and then act surprised when it blows up on you.
  8. I would disagree. All of my SS guns run flawless. I have seen many production guns malfunction on the range. More factors are involved besides SS vs production.
  9. In my Colt Competition .45, I ran a Dawson Tool-less guide rod with Wilson 15lb springs, running 172PF ammo. It worked great.
  10. Dawson and Brownells all have the Gen2. Their pics are just not up to date.
  11. On my Sig there is a set screw on the right side of the sight. It prevents any elevation adjustment until you loosen it.
  12. Another +1 for the Seekins ATC. I have one on my 3gun rifle and the dot barely moves and returns beautifully.
  13. I used rocksett on the suppressor mount on my SBR. It never moved and when I removed it, it took considerable heat and a breaker bar to get it to move.
  14. Not the feed lips but the mag body itself. Go to Atlas Gunworks Youtube channel and watch his videos on tuning mags. He shows what you need to do to get them to drop free.
  15. I have mine installed now and absolutely love it. So much better than the stock STI trigger I had in the gun previously.
  16. The Frankford Arsenal 7L wet tumbler can process 1,000 .223 cases and uses 5lbs of pins. It would just be a matter of doing the math in your application.
  17. For those that may have the same problem I did, it was all totally my fault for it not working. I simply had the trigger bow threaded on too far and it prevented the trigger from traveling rearward enough. Turned it back out, set the pre-travel, set the over-travel and it works like a charm. Major improvement over the stock STI trigger it replaced. So much so I am ordering one for my Sig Max.
  18. Adam emailed me right back asking me to call him. It's some known things I need to do to basically lengthen the trigger bow to get a little more travel with this grip and frame. I'm confident now I will get this to work. This is why he gets my money.
  19. I'm installing an X-Line trigger on my limited gun with a DVC plastic grip and CK Arms frame. Fitted the shoe channel just fine and the shoe and bow move without issue. However, after everything is back together, the hammer will not fall when I pull the trigger. The trigger does move back a little bit. I have taken it apart and put it back together several times so everything looks like its back together correctly. The over travel screw is backed all the way out so that is not hitting. I know I'm missing something. I just sent an email to Adam at Atlas but it is late there. What else should I be looking at?
  20. I just used a T handle with my .40 reamer. Went just fine. Just go slow and check often.
  21. If you're asking if you can take a slide off a Nemesis and run it on a Chaos frame, I would say that would be a no. Each gun is built and fit individually. I'm going to assume, as I have not seen them in person, but the frame cuts for both models are probably going to be very different for a sight block versus a comp. If you wanted that kind of setup, Adam would need to build you a complete custom gun with two different slides fitted to it. I'm sure he could do it but I expect it would be pricey.
  22. You may have just been the unlucky one to get a couple of bad springs. I would email or call TTI and see if they will send you new springs.
  23. My TTI spring clipped into the follower. It took some effort but it will. Your's not being clipped in is your problem. Get the spring properly seated and your problem will stop. I have probably over 3,000 rounds on my +5 and it's still going strong, without a single issue.
  24. I echo everyone else's opinion. A good red dot would be your best option.
