  1. 3 months or less. He said it might be a little sooner.
  2. We didn't get that far into the conversation, just some preliminary stuff. We'll finalize things tomorrow or Monday.
  3. Made the call to start the conversation for Adam to build me a Titan Operator. This will be dual use for duty and for 3 gun. I forgot about the large time difference between Az and Vt and the shop was already closed. But, Adam still picked up and took time to speak with me on a, for him, Friday evening. This and all the positive reviews is why he's getting my business. The hard part is going to be the worthwhile wait.
  4. I wouldn't be too embarrassed. I mentioned it above because I've seen it many times. Its a pretty common issue.
  5. No need for a bigger than your regular size, there is plenty of over lap. The velcro runs the entire length of the inside of the belt. It fits well does not move at all.
  6. This is how I modified it for the Carbon Arms rachet.
  7. I use the Safariland belt and the Carbon Arms ratchet system. I cut the belt to length and this removed the stupid and annoying posts. I have two belts this way, one for USPSA and the other for 3gun. My only complain is that I did not do it sooner than I did.
  8. ELS is the way to go. Easy to switch out gear depending on what the stage calls for.
  9. Check your grip and make sure you're not riding the slide stop/release with your thumb. It's a very easy thing to do during a course of fire. The thumb can migrait a little without notice.
  10. The Wilson 47D mags with extended base pads ran great with no issues in my Colt Competition with the Dawson Ice and IDPA mag wells.
  11. You'll get more help if you posted this in the Tanfo forum. More eyes will see it. https://forums.brianenos.com/forum/202-tanfoglio-eaa-ifg/
  12. I have worn Keens which are similar to Merrells and did not care for them. Traction was not good with quick movement. I now wear Salomons since they released the Speedcross in wide sizes. If my choice was Merrell or cleats, I would definitely choose the cleats.
  13. The DPP. It has a larger viewing window and you do not need to remove it to change the battery.
  14. Here are a few of the tools I purchased for my 2011 build. http://www.evergladesammo.com/shooting-accessories/gunsmithing/tools/1911-frame-rail-sanding-tool.html http://www.evergladesammo.com/shooting-accessories/gunsmithing/tools/1911-slide-measuring-tool.html https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/handgun-tools/barrel-tools/barrel-lug-tools/1911-barrel-locking-lug-file-prod847.aspx https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/handgun-tools/alignment-tools/barrel-alignment-tools/barrel-alignment-block-sku080000041-369-1690.aspx?rrec=true https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/handgun-tools/barrel-tools/barrel-fitting-tools/1911-lug-fitting-kit-prod18787.aspx
  15. That's while in the holster. The act of drawing the gun removes it from the holster and the safety does not need to be engaged. The second you break retention, it is no longer a holstered pistol. The biggest disagreement I have is the assertion that a 1911 is more dangerous with the thumb safety off. That is an old wive's tale and it frankly is just untrue. Violating the 4 cardinal rules is what makes any weapon dangerous.
  16. Why would you believe it would be anymore dangerous than drawing a striker fired gun with no external safeties? Follow rule 3 and it's not an issue, regardless of the platform. What rule does that fall under? I've never seen anything in the rules that say a safety must be engaged after a COF has begun. Part of acquiring your master grip, is getting your primary thumb on top of the safety on a 1911/2011. That happens during the draw and disengages the safety.
  17. Made it to the range today and ran over 200 rounds through it and all 4 mags. It ran flawlessly. I did have to trim the followers a little bit. With the narrower dimension in the transition area, they were sticking a little bit. Thank you to everyone for all the help and suggestions.
  18. And that is why I asked here. Mag issues fixed and I knew I was still missing something. Yes, there is the ever so slight over hang, maybe a .001 or two. I'll be moving that back now.
  19. Thats what I'm hoping for. So far, the mod seems to have done the trick, I thank you for pointing that out. All the rounds are touching and are nice and tight in the mag. I'll be testing them out tomorrow after my 3 gun match. My four mags were at .670-.680 and should have been .640. That was a ridiculous amount to be off by.
  20. I understand all that. But as I said in an earlier post, I get all of this ammo free. That is the reason for my motivation to get it to run in this gun. This is the first gun I have built. I meticulously fitted every single part by hand. I have learned a lot about these guns in the process and I learn even more with each little hiccup. I won't accept that factory ammunition will not run in a gun chambered for that ammunition. That is the set standard and any deviation outside of that, like having to load long, is no longer the standard. Doing so, like in the case if these STI mags, is settling for sub-standard performance and accepting that mediocrity is the norm. What happens to the people that buy these guns but for whatever reason, do not reload?
  21. I finally found it. It is not on their youtube page. It is on their Facebook page. But, I did rewatch all 7 mag tuning videos again. And I found my mags are way too wide.
  22. DO you happen to have a link to Adam's video for the Gen 2 Mod? I can't seem to find it and I'm a real visual learner..lol
  23. Found this video from Adam at Atlas. This describes my problem very well. I have the rounds falling out of the mag or they real far forward. My slide had a very slight radius and I opened it up a bit more and then polished it glass smooth. Will hit the range in the next couple of days to see how it goes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vpz9-3pjJb0
