  1. I have good results in my M1 with the Factory Improved Modified choke and a Pattern Master Buckshot Choke (no vent holes). 5Shot
  2. I figured this was the place to ask - I need a muzzle brake for my AR, but it does double duty as a hunting gun (Mostly Predator). When hunting, ear protection isn't always practical, so I want one that isn't going to blow out my ear drums (of course there won't be any long strings of fire). Any help would be appreciated. 5Shot
  3. Those won't work with a Nordic tube, but will with a DMW....and if you go with those parts, you might need #65 if yours doesn't have the groove for the sling. Come to think of it....I have an extra. Isn't real pretty, but if you want to send me $6 for priority shipping I will dig the parts out and send it to you.
  4. Assuming the practical uses the standard M1 Tubes, try Shotgunworld.com classifieds. You should be able to find a whole set for about $35 on there.
  5. I would vote for Eagle...made in the USA and have a life time warranty
  6. It is really hard to get the OAL Length and functioning correct without the whole gun to test fire. The work on my shell carrier was well done.
  7. I want to cut it down about 3/4" and replace it with a fitted pad of some type. I did the one on my Benelli and used a Remington 870 pad with virtually no fitting. Hoping I can find a suitable fitted pad for this hack job.
  8. I was going to shorten the butt on my SLP and was wondering what pad others had found that would work with minimal finish grinding. Thanks, 5Shot
  9. I took it out and played around with it some...I am still leaning towards my Benelli (I have the stock cut down to fit me) and for me, the Benelli is faster and with the SVL Recoil Pad, it shoots just as soft as the FN. It cycles cheap 1 oz. loads from Remington and never hickups. The FN has a nicer trigger and is built like a tank - I need to get out and shoot it more to really decide.
  10. They will order anything you want if you call the special order desk.....
  11. try here....Ghost Holsters....
  12. Well... Picked it up today. I must say that from the outset it has the feel of a very well made piece of equipment and is nicely fit and finished as well. The action is tight and solid, and reminds me of a SIG Sauer Pistol (there is just something about how smooth and tight they are, right out of the box). the LOP is a bit long for me, and the butt pad makes it seem as though I am wearing a pice of fly paper every time I try to mount the gun (No JOKES!!) I have some quick mount gel that I can put on it, but I am going to try and find a shorter pad anyway (as soft as they are supposed to shoot I doubt I will need much - my Benelli has never really bothered me). I probably won't get to shoot it for another week though 5Shot
  13. Actually...got to start shooting scumbags with the guns they steal! She did nothing wrong and we are too quick to place the blame on those that leave personal property in a locked vehicle. Just because it can be stolen does not mean it is her fault. I suggest she starts with the scrotum and then the knee caps and then.....
  14. I'm with the .... "Don't tell me what to do" crowd, but I take full responsibility for myself. NO WAY would I endanger myself or my family!!!!! You get what's coming to you if you are too low in the Gene Pool to know better....natural selection at work.
  15. Steve Bailey is part of Heirloom Precision as well. They also do some Long Gun work(remington 870's for example), but they are focusing on the 1911's and Browning High Powers. They also decided not to offer pre-packaged work (Their 1* series is no more) and didn't want to be involved in the parts business (no sights, trigger components, etc.). And yes.....I shoot my Heirloom Precision 1911....that's what they are for!!!!
  16. 2 molds would definitely help, and one other trick is to speed cool the sprue - you have a damp rolled up wash cloth next to your casting station, and when the sprue starts to harden, you turn the mold over and rest it on the wash cloth. The moisture will hasten the cooling of the sprue and allow you to open the mold sooner. It also keeps it from getting too hot. If you keep the wash cloth in an old tupperware with just a TINY bit of water in the bottom, it will stay moist for a long time. Just keep it well away from the pot - I use the method when casting large bullets for a 45LC or 45-70 and it works great. You don't do this until after the mold is up to temp, or it will take forever to get it going. Cast Booloits has lots of tricks like this to make casting faster. 5Shot
  17. So..... is the jam where a backwards shell attempts to chamber and gets wedged in there by the bolt? (or do I have it ALL wrong) Just want to get a good visual. Thanks
  18. My Stock (stock bolt carrier/shell lifter, Limbsaver Recoil Pad though) M1 will run the Peters 1oz. Target loads (2-3/4 Dram @ 1290 FPS). I have run many boxes without a single malfunction. I would think an M2 with Comfortech would be even more reliable.
  19. Most M1's and all M2's now require the modification pictured above
  20. You can get an SLP MK1 off of Gunbroker right now for under $700 (Factory New) - I think I might be ordering me a new shotgun to play with.
  21. The guy in the shop is wrong, what the bigbrowndog means is you grind some off NOT fill it in to enable the ghost load. see here... Actually....both ways work. The old bolt bodies did not have the groove (thus filling it in works, and that is what I did with JB Weld), filing also works if you file the angle correctly as shown in the pictures.
  22. NOBODY has ever been prosecuted for that offense, and there are LOTS of shotguns like that out there. This has been hashed over a bunch on the Benelli forums and AR15. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I hear ya.. However, there are two ATF agents that shoot at my local range on a regular basis so knowing my luck I'd be the first one...

  24. I had some done by CCR Refinishing. The work was top notch, and not too expensive, but that work goes in the toilet when you have to junk a mag.
