Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. This is what I'd like to find made for a Benelli, but I've only seen them for Remington's and Mossberg's.
  2. I guess the torque may become an issue. I have seen some sling attachments that go under the nut that screws the tube on for Remingtons and Mossbergs, but haven't seen one for a Benelli. Then there is the option of going to a single point sling. Personally I like the 3 point slings, but I have thought about using a single point on my Benelli, but it seems like it would hang a little low if you mount one to the ring that is on the stock. Someone out there with a machine shop could really cash in on the benelli market. There is so many things that I've seen for Remingtons that just aren't available for Benelli's.
  3. The Nordic Components barrel clamp middle screw hole is tapped the same size as a standard sling swivel stud. I haven't put one on mine yet, but I plan to soon. Here is a pic of mine without the stud attatched.
  4. Here is some pics of what I've done so far. I think I'm going to leave the camo so I can use it Turkey hunting as well as 3 gun. Here is the breakdown of the parts so far. Nordic Components +5 tube, follower, spring, bolt handle, and barrel clamp. Progressive Machines extended bolt release. Tru Glo fiber optic sights. The carrier is what I had modified by C-Rums. I have a Nordic extended end cap for the tube on order. Hopefully it will make that last round a little easier to get in. And before you look at the pics, yes I know I need to make up my bed. Anyway, here ya go...
  5. Got my new carrier in the mail today. Dropped right in without any problems. I got great customer service from Jeff Cockrum and I definately reccommend him to anyone who is looking for good work on Benelli's. His prices are great and his turn around is quick.
  6. Cool, thanks for all the advise. Maybe I need to think this through a little more. I can see the benefit of someone else recording me so I can see trigger control and movement. In the past I've tried this but I never saw the targets, just me shooting. I guess if I could find a friend that's a little better at filiming it might be helpful. With the POV I was hoping to see sight alignment and I could concentrate on keeping the gun up in front of my face during reloads. But the more I look at the POV video's, it's pretty much impossible to see the sights as you actually see them unless you have a camera hooked up to your dominant eye. Maybe I was just looking for an exuse to spend some more money.
  7. I found the VHoldR on Amazon for $279.99 and free shipping. Thinking about going with that one. Anyone have any experience with that particular camera? I'm not looking to produce a video for sale or nothing. I just would like to see what I'm doing wrong to help with my practice.
  8. I have a friend that films all of his matches using an Archos 605 and the optional camera. This works really well, but it's kind of expensive. Does anyone out there know of any good quality inexpensive helmet cameras that would work for 3 gun?
  9. Well, I emailed Jeff Cockrum yesterday, and he got back to me really fast. He said he has some already modified and ready to ship. All I have to do is send him my original carrier and $35. I shipped mine out this morning and hope to have the new one before the next 3 gun match. Great customer service so far. I'll keep you guy's updated on how everything goes.
  10. Thanks for all the good info guy's. I just bought a used M1 and this is the last thing I would like to have done to it. I've already put a Nordic tube, follower, clamp, and bolt handle on it. A Progressive Machines bolt release Ithank you Shawn for your great design) was the final part. I shot it in the local 3 gun match last Sunday and the only problem I had was that my thumb got stuck while reloading. It cost me a few seconds, but I could tell a massive difference between the Benelli and my 870 that I've been using for years.
  11. oops, guess I was a little slow on the typing. Thanks cd0306.
  12. Cool, thanks for the quick response. Did you have to send him your original one for him to work on, or did they have a ready-made part available. The reason I ask is my friend had to send them his original part. How much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking.
  13. A friend of mine told me that he sent his Benelli loading gate/carrier to C-Rums to get it welded up and Benelli thumb proofed. I was just wondering if anyone else out there might have also used them for this mod and how their experience with them was. How long did it take, how much did it cost, and how do you like it?
  14. I put a lone wolf 3.5lb connector, lone wolf ultimate trigger stop, lone wolf 4lb striker spring, and a lone wolf 6lb trigger spring which gave me a really smooth trigger job for under $40. I was too scared to start polishing and grinding anything myself. This also allowed me to have the OEM parts still available to reinstall if I didn't like it. I haven't put it on a trigger pull gauge, but if I were to guess, I would say that it wound up somewhere around 3lb trigger pull. I also added a Lightning strikes titanium safety plunger, but I couldn't tell that it made any difference.
  15. I had the same problem two weekends ago at a steel match. I was using WWB 115gr as well in my Glock 34. I cleaned the striker and striker tube really good with some Q-tips and Hoppe's. Shot a 3 gun match this weekend using the same lot number ammo and had no problems at all. I would try cleaning it really good, it worked for me. This is an often overlooked area while cleaning Glocks. If there is just a little carbon build up in there or any dirt at all, it can cause problems.
