  1. I purchased a Aperio that Adam worked on 2 or 3 years ago. Gun runs solid every day. Only thing that has happened of note is the locking pin on the rear sight gave up and I had to replace the rear sight after a couple thousand rounds. When I've talked to him he's been super friendly and helpful. It's been a couple years though, so maybe that's changed. More the OP's question, you can't go wrong really with either builder. Atlas will get you the gun sooner and I believe is somewhat less expensive than SVI. SVI makes a top notch gun but I have no direct experience with them beyond seeing a few at matches. The owners seem very pleased. I'll cop to being an atlas fanboy, in so far as that's possible, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.
  2. For the trigger on the M&P you can hit up apex parts and they have some items to make it better. They also sell barrels if you want one and the one not requiring a gun smith to install is actually pretty easy to do. SSS and FMM USPSA both have facebook pages to keep an eye on when they announce matches to assist with signing up.
  3. I'm likely way off base but have you considered carry optics? You get a plastic fantastic gun and all that bullets you can handle plus a red dot sight. I'd give the sig saucer p320 x5 a look for that as for 850 you get a semi tuned gun and 4 20 round mags.
  4. I had the razor for the last 2 years and it's a great scope. However, as stated earlier it's HEAVY and the magnification takes effort to turn. The glass on both is superb. The Swaro wins because I'm blind and I need the extra magnification to see things so I can hit them. I'll find out how rugged it is because I am not gentle on my gear. Having said all that, Atibal is a new company and they have their own 1-8 scope. I've put my hands on it already and I liked it. The internet seems to compared it favorably to the Razor with the Razor winning in the dot visibility department. They're also running a trade in program if you email them before you buy the Atibal scope.
  5. I've also got the bullseye cam and it does a reasonable job. The software is pretty boss but it does have issues in bright light so either use a canopy of some sort when you shoot or setup under a tree.
  6. I have trouble letting go of it for the day but within a couple days it's old news. I usually know what I did wrong and decide not to do it again if it's safety related or practice if it's me related.
  7. I am using an Geissele trigger in my MPX. I remember them saying it was compatible at first. Am I just making that up in my head? No where near 2000 rounds in it but I'm going to inspect the firing pin hole and the trigger assembly itself.

    P320 X5 Thread

I had GG work on a p30l for me and they did a great job. Theoretically this shouldn't need any trigger work. Thanks to the heads up earlier I also got one from Gilbert's Guns and I've got them bookmarked because they're on point. I agree front sight should be bigger and is my first flat trigger gun. Doubt it'll replace my 2011 but I'm quite impressed so far.
  9. Welcome aboard. Blackstone in Charlotte does USPSA matches on Tuesday and a few folks from Columbia go up there. Matches look pretty good if that's part of your interest. 2011s are awesome, just be prepared to spend some money.
  10. That's probably the smartest advice.
  11. A friend of mine invited me out to a PRS competition a couple weeks ago. I wasn't able to go but I did start looking at the rules, at Youtube, etc. I'm interested in giving it a try. I'm torn between production division and the gas gun series. I already shoot 3 gun. Would shooting the gas gun series on an AR platform translate somewhat well as practice for 3 gun? Is the bolt gun more fun? What would be a good build for a gas gun and what would be a good setup for a bolt gun? I've got a 16 inch Noveske that I was shooting in 3 gun that's now a backup gun since I built an AR for 3 gun. I see Christensen Arms listed as legal in production series and I've always wanted something from them. Lastly, any and all advice that I haven't asked is most welcome.
  12. I'm a TacCom fanboy. I had his aluminum extension on my 1301 and switched to the carbon one, I highly recommend his products.
  13. Talk with Adam at Atlas Gunworks.
  14. I think you need to email their customer service. One of our local shooters uses it and seems to do quite well with it. Granted, he was good well before somebody gave him a scope. I'd have one if I wasn't knee deep in a razor HD 2.
  15. I've got a Beretta 1301 Comp that hasn't let me down yet. Sent it to Rose Action Sports. Couldn't be happier.
  16. I've got one and only the dot should be lit up.
  17. Didn't know about this option. I'm going to give it a try.
  18. I think his name will sell a few guns, but mostly to folks who don't know. With what he's asking you can look at Wilson Combat, JP, Nighthawk Customs, Christen Arms, and any number of custom builders. And I'd much rather have any of those.
  19. Not old enough to pull off "sonny" yet unless you still watch the Smurfs on TV or Dora the Explorer. However, I am looking forward to being the angry well armed grand-pa at events in another 40 years or so.
  20. I swapped out my over the ear noise cancelling headphones for some in-ear noise cancelling ear buds because the muff moved while I was running a course of fire with my AR. Turns out those are loud.
  21. I don' know anything about the 6951 but I have nothing but great things to say about my MPX. I put a Giselle trigger in it and a good red dot and it does the rest. Recoil is minimal, it's comfortable to shoot and you can get extended base pads to give you a 40 round capacity. The only downside is the stocks from Sig aren't great. I'd love it if I could have my luth AR stock on there.
  22. IDPA shooting Production with a Walther. The front sight caught on the holster and my hand kept going. Gun fell out of the holster and my hand came up empty, which I found shocking at the time. My buddy recorded the draw on his Iphone. It's amusing in retrospect possibly. Three gun, oddly enough also in March, I had my finger on the trigger of my shotgun while moving, tripped, sent a round over the berm and then my competition belt fell off to complete the look. More cognizant of the trigger now and I purchased a keeper for the belt. I should say my 3 DQs have occurred at a pace of 1 a year and I'm starting my 3rd year of shooting. Maybe I should just avoid shooting in March? I'm not sure the habits I have are bad so much as nonexistent as I've had to learn as I go. No shooting background in my family or friends until I started this. I was in fact reading the section on ADs and I'll likely have questions once I think I understand what I'm seeing. I will say I was currently confused by some of it, but so far none of it's impacted me.
  23. Yeah the RO said if he'd saw me prior to handling the pistol he'd have gotten me to stop before he DQ'd me. I don't want to give the impression I'm mad at the guy. He was super nice prior to it and after. It wasn't his fault. I just want to understand better what the rules were. Apparently I needed to look about half a pager lower and it would have covered it exactly. On my way out talking to another shooter I know he said he'd been disqualified 3 times since 1995 I believe. This got me wondering. I've been DQ 3 times in 3 years. Once in IDPA, once in 3 gun, and now once in USPSA. Am I particularly bad about this?
