  1. Have you ever witnessed a published load become unsafe because of the OAL? My advice to the OP......K.I.S.S.
  2. Some of you are overcomplicating the matter. Powder does not care about the shape of your bullet (wadcutter being the obvious exception). Only bullet material and weight matter. Use lead data for lead and coated lead, use FMJ data for plated and FMJ. Only your barrel cares about the shape of the bullet so make sure you plunk and spin.
  3. Once again you're right on the mark. There's not much out there but it's Hodgdons attempt at Bullseye. All the data puts it very near Bullseye/Titegroup. They've probably just flaked Titegroup, lol.
  4. You have a good memory sir! 2009 2011 People put too much stock into brand loyalty or the newest super duper powder. I'll use ANY versatile powder that works in the calibers I shoot. I recently found IMR Target for $150 CAD per 8 lbs. I almost bought everything they had in stock. I know absolutely nothing about Target except that it's a copy of Bullseye and that alone was good enough for me. I'll never tell someone else how to spend their money but I try to spend mine wisely.
  5. - How to determine OAL: https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=34225.msg189131#msg189131 (If your bullet doesn't easily collapse just use the seating die to shorten the OAL incrementally until it plunks) - Plunk test:
  6. How do you legally get them in country?
  7. Almost all powders are clean at "laser beam" velocity. For 9mm minor Autocomp is a little dirty but I wouldn't let that dissuade you. I've used it in the past and I wouldn't hesitate to do so again. I'll use almost anything if the price is right.
  8. Yeah because success is what most people are experiencing in this thread, .
  9. Sure, whatever floats your boat big guy :):):). In future try to be more, well, right. Maybe that way you won't feel so emasculated. Cheers!
  10. What are you talking about? Who questioned your reloading experience? Again, just because something works for you, in your setup, doesn't mean it works well in all applications.
  11. Guilty as charged! I'm one of those who uses terms correctly so as to avoid confusion. I don't know what to tell you, calling it a compression issue couldn't be more wrong/misleading.
  12. Fixed it for you. Titegroup isn't perfect but it performs very well in 9mm (and other calibres).
  13. What amounts very surprised you? The published data for a 124gr bullet? My chrono data of a thick plated 147gr bullet? Or the guesstimate on a range for a 135gr bullet? I'm just surprised that it wasn't hard to make PF with an FMJ. I'll have to try it sometime. P.S. My data was shot through a 4.12" barrel (SR9) which will make it a little slower.
  14. It doesn't surprise me one bit. AA#2 = Recoil Impulse: 0.68 (lbs.sec), Recoil Velocity: 8.15 (fps), Recoil Energy 2.79 (ft.lbf) True Blue = Recoil Impulse: 0.7 (lbs.sec), Recoil Velocity: 8.34 (fps), Recoil Energy 2.92 (ft.lbf)
  15. 4.1gr of WST must be barely making PF with a 124gr FMJ, if at all.
  16. It had nothing to do with load compression, compressed loads aren't dangerous.
  17. I'm not sure about 135's but the range for a 124gr bullet is 4.8gr - 5.4gr of WST. I've tested a 147gr bullet (thick plated) with 3.6gr - 4.0gr of WST (3.8gr = 130 PF). So that should put your approximate testing range at 3.8gr - 4.4gr with a 135gr bullet.
  18. Some pistols have a short leade. Shorten the OAL until it plunks (1.08?) and use the same charge weight range. I load a 147gr bullet to 1.09 because of my CZ Shadow.
  19. I have one, I know all the tricks, it's still finicky. Nothing's perfect but I'm willing to put up with its shortcomings because of the price point.
  20. Longshot. Personally, I would use two different powders.
