  1. OAL always change depending on the bullet/barrel combo. Never use OAL's found in manuals or provided by another user, always determine your own.
  2. You're going to learn that the "Indian's" on this board have a lot of collective experience. Just because something works for you, in your setup, doesn't mean it works well in all applications.
  3. You can pull rounds, weigh and inspect powder and with chrono data come up with something similar but why? Do they really feel that different from everything you currently load? Doubt it...
  4. Here's the official response... XXXX, All our loading data is proprietary. However, I can tell you we use only industry standard powders. Hope this helps. V/R
  5. 1) Use FMJ data and develop your load from the minimum charge. 2) When crimping 9mm you should only be removing the flare, shoot for somewhere between .377-.379 at the case mouth. 3) CFE Pistol, Titegroup, Power Pistol, Sport Pistol etc. they'll all work. I'm not sure what "spikiness" your referring to in regards to TG, it's a great powder for 9mm minor loads. 4) The reason OAL's are all over the place is because you must find your own. Every bullet/barrel combination will produce a different max OAL (e.g. I can load my 147gr bullets to 1.15 for my M&P but I load all my 9mm to 1.09 because my CZ has the shortest leade). - How to determine OAL: https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=34225.msg189131#msg189131 (If your bullet doesn't easily collapse just use the seating die to shorten the OAL incrementally until it plunks) - Plunk test:
  6. Probably some type of commercial grade powder, duplicating it will be extremely difficult.
  7. Here is your answer. However, I do agree that between 4 - 6 pulls should do it.
  8. My Dillon die also produces shavings from the case mouth but mostly on new or once fired brass. After the brass has been loaded a few times the brass shaving problem virtually disappears. I say deal with the shavings if that's what it takes to produce reliable ammo.
  9. How much flare are you giving the cases? I know it might be difficult but can you provide us with a picture of the burrs? Does the problem only occur with certain brass brands?
  10. How did you determine the OAL? I seriously doubt a small burr is causing all these issues. Also, load a different bullet and see if your problem goes away.
  11. Probably not but you seem content just crimping the s#!t out of your rounds. FYI...Sizing prevents setback.
  12. I know some guys don't like powder checks but I won't reload without one (plus I eyeball the case).
  13. Why? If they had thoroughly tested the product before release none of this would have happened.
  14. So for $200 we get a plastic primer collator with a thoughtless edge of table design, which only handles SPP, needs ramp lubing, ramp scoring, two disk versions, cleaning after every 1500ish primers, post-it note shims and I still get the occasional upside down primer? Did I miss anything? Oh yeah, Slavex owns the only perfectly functioning unit , lol.
  15. 1) Use at least 0.2gr increments when testing. 2) Are we still talking about a 125gr HAP over CFE Pistol? If so and you want them stout go right to book max at 4.8gr (maybe some at 4.6gr for comparison).
  16. How did you determine the OAL? What was the longest length at which your rounds would still plunk and work in the magazine? Are you sure the rounds are failing because of the bulge? Are the cases being sized as far down as possible? What case gauge are you using? Certain dies produce "wasp-waisted" ammo which is accentuated when loading 147gr bullets.
  17. That's because as consumers we no longer expect, well, anything. Is it new? Check. Is it expensive? Does it have lights and buttons? Check. How could anyone possibly expect more??? This product is a prime example of that mentality, people couldn't throw their money at DAA fast enough.
  18. With so many initial problems one has to wonder how much testing DAA actually did prior to release. Why weren't they aware of these issues? Did they just test the thing with S&B primers and call it a day? Throw another primer collator onto the heap...
