  1. Who sold you the brass?
  2. Yup, 2" out of the bottle. Dude is gona need a cherry picker to move that drum around.
  3. When the load is finished I have a five gallon bucket with a crack in the bottom and a hard hat with a bunch of 8mm holes drilled in it. I set the hat in the bucket and dump the drum in, in thirds. Then shake out the pins and run the hat under the faucet to rinse them off. I do this in the bath tub and just use Tilex when I'm done. I tilex the shower every week anyway so its like two birds one stone. I know it sounds like alot but it only takes me about five minuets. Also read Heavyopp's posts, he taught me eveything I know LOL...
  4. I tried the dish soap thing for a while and .45 brass hung up really bad in my flare/charge die. Also made resizing 9mm really hard. I been experimenting with diffrent wash/waxes for a while now and it really helps with those two problems. I loaded about 900 rounds from this batch so far and its the best yet with ease of resizing and no hang up at all in the flare/charge die. I would guess its about 5 ounces I used. When I said 2" I ment out of that bottle, its the 16 ounce size. I'm sure using a little more wouldn't hurt. I'm not sure how much water I'm using I just fill the drum all the way up with tap water. I have a well with a water softener system (that I hate lol). My drum is a 6" about 18" long. I can probably do 19# of brass and 20# of pins but I only have 10# of pins right now.
  5. To dry I just dump the 9 pounds of brass onto a towel, grab the short ends in each hand and raise and lower opposite hands. (dont really know hot to explain it) Kinda roll it back and forth about ten times. Then I have another towel on the reloading desk, just dump them on there, spread them out and pretty much overnight they are dry. I usually give them two days though because there is always something else to reload or guns to clean in the mean time.
  6. Sure bud. There is a few people that used tredmill motors but its really not worth it. You need to still use the speed controller from the unit and it ends up being a mess of wires and unessassarry parts and weight. I started out with a drill press motor and it worked great, I just wanted my drill press back together so I got this motor from Amazon for about $65. Here is a link about the building of my tumbler. http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/66045-getting-started-in-reloading/?hl=tumbler
  7. I'm always trying different combinations in my tumbler to find a mix that works best. I'm looking for a mix that wont tarnish after some time and of course clean the brass as best as possible. A mix that will wax the cases to aid in resizing and not snag in the flare/charge die. Well I think I found it and here it is... I used about two inches of Armorall ultra shine wash and wax. A quick little squirt of dishwasher rinse agent, Probably about a table spoon. Two 9mm casings worth of Lemishine. Ten pounds of SS pins to nine pounds of brass. I recently made some cahnges to my tumbler and this was the first load since the changes. I changed the motor and pulley and now It only turns 48 RPM, little on the slow side compared to 60 RPM with the old motor. I ran this load for three hours and its the cleanest brass I had ever done. It resizes really nice and does not hang up in the flare/charge die at all. Its been about a week and there is no sines of tarnish at all. I think I'm going to drop down to a 5" drive pulley and get it up to 60 RPM again and try the next load two and a half hours. PICTURE TIME!!! Disclaimer time, I know there is gona be people that say your wasting your time cleaning pistol brass like that. well, I don't care. I like doing it this way for lots of reasons, some safety, some just because this is my hobby that I enjoy and take pride in. Pleas, lets not turn this in to that debate again.
  8. Drive about 2 hours to get there...
  9. http://3gunnation.com/tv_show There is alot of full episodes on here and youtube.
  10. The poll needs an option for New Jersey residents.
  11. Here's my thoughts on the whole DIY Glock trigger thing. We spent well over $1200 on the gun, sights, mags, mainspring, guide rod, and holsters for a gun to shoot matches with. We need a gun thats fast and dependable. We take time and money to drive to the match and then pay to shoot the match. We take time to make less expensive, more accurate and dependable ammo. After all that we still have guys that make their own $20 trigger to make there gun not work... Way I see it, spend the 180 bucks to keep the gun dependable and be done with it.
  12. The DK Custom kit is the best trigger period. It comes with a fancy striker and every thing you need. Just put it in like the instructions say and the gun works 100% all the time even with CCI primers. You don't have to touch the overtravel or the pre travel screws they are already set. gogetchaone
  13. For Pistol rounds I can make over 300 rounds an hour on the Lee Classic Turret and that includes setup. Thats using primed brass though. I generally only spend 2-4 hours a week reloading weather its priming, tumbling, trimming rifle brass. I usually shoot 250 rounds a weekend three times a month. The woman usually shoots 350 rounds a month. Its not a bad press but its not a good press either. Seems like the biggest problem with it is the brass dont line up with the sizing die so you have to guide every one in there.
  14. Are they ever in stock? How do I get one?
  15. Groundhog day. I can't stand that movie but every time it's on I end up watching it.
  16. Yup, It got on there a little over 2 weeks ago. I went there and ordered it when it got on the site. They called me on Sunday and said they can't order it for at least six months.
  17. Why do you guys like 335 so much? I made a pounds worth of ammo with it and a two foot flame shot out of the end of the barrel. Dont get me wrong, its cool as hell but if I want quick follow up shots I don't want a fire ball blocking my line of sight. I used the all mighty Varget in my service rifle but that stuff is a pain in the butt to meeter. I had to weigh every charge. The awesome thing about Varget though is nothing but the bullet shoots out of the barrel, its super clean. I would, and am, look for a clean, smoke free, flame free water like meeting ball powder that's cheap. But that's probably like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

    My Landlord

I wish, last May he insisted I just sign the year lease again and if I found a house before the year was up he said "It shouldn't be a problem." I'm way too much of a nice guy, I always trust that everyone is sincere and I always end up getting screwed. I wish this country wasn't full of these pansy ass sue happy bitches that want to lock up the working class just for a fist fight. I would love to perform some free dental work on this two faced coward but he would definitely call the cops on me. What happened to the old days when men were men and if you had a problem you could settle it and that would be that?

    My Landlord

I been renting this crappy house for 8 years. The heater sucks, I freeze my nuts off all winter long and the gas bill is between $300 and $400 every month. I finally bought a house and go to settlement on the 30th. My lease is up on this crap shack in May. This rat bastard won't let me out two months early. He's going to steal my almost 2k$ security deposit and probably demand an extra half months rent. I told him two months ago I found a house and to get somone else in here. He hardly ever shows the place. It looks freaking abandonded from the outside. He told me when I moved in he was going to put siding and a new roof on this place. That was eight years ago and it never happened. Hes probably never going to get anyone else in here. People see the for rent sign out front and stop to look then they usually drive away laughing. I'm so tired of getting ripped off man, I was going to use that money to get enough ammo for the summer.
