  1. I am working on it, meanwhile I have been able to test it with some 180 Gr. Blue Bullets. My DVC would not make major with the 3.6 Grains of E3, but 4.0 grains looks promising. 4.0 Grains of E3 with the 180 BB produced a 10 shot average velocity of 945 FPS. (170 PF) Highest velocity 955, Lowest 932. The test was run at approximately 56 degrees, elevation 3100. I use Magnum Primers for all my loads.
  2. I was shooting an STI- DVC, OAL was 1.1145, temperature was pretty close to 90 degrees at the time. Elevation here is about 3100 feet. I will test the 4.4 grain load again this week using a Glock 35 & a STI Eagle as well as the DVC. In past testing the Glock was 50 to 75 FPS faster the the Eagle. I should receive my shipment of Blue Bullets soon and I am anxious to try the 3.6 gr load. Metering is pretty consistent with my Dillion 550.
  3. I've been doing some experimenting with Alliant E3 and believe it has some real potential for the 40. 4.4 Grains of E3, CCI 550 Magnum Primer and a 180 Gr Montana Gold gives a pleasant load at 170 PF from my DVC Limited. My CED chronograph recorded 10 shots with a high of 964 FPS and low of 932 for an average of 947. E3 seems to burn clean, not a lot of smoke. As I get more information I will add to the thread for those that are interested. TommyK
  4. Yup, I remember bring a Glock 34 & 40 S&W mags and ammo to a USPSA match. Fortunately my everyday carry gun was a Glock 23 so I got to shoot the match. Really didn't do well at the match but it did make me start practicing more with my carry gun.
  5. I would really like to vote for a Dan Wesson PM9.. It would be worth your time to check one out before buying.
  6. I haven't had mine long but am fairly impressed. I've owned a few custom guns and the DVC isn't like that. But seems to be well made from a good design and capable of everything I bought it for. A few internal parts needed smoothing, and I am changing the thumb safety, not a fault of STI just my way of making the gun - my gun. So far, I like it..
  7. My PM9 has run everything I put in it. Several different handholds, factory loads, +P, surplus military.. It runs them all. I am using Wilson 10 round mags and it shoots every time, locks back and is ready to go when I finally get the next mag inserted. I'd buy this gun again, in fact I am planning to buy another--just because.
  8. My .40 Eagle will work with anything. The gun simply feeds & shoots everything I have tried.
  9. I mounted them on Blade Tek mini Tek-Loks. Makes it easy to change the rig from 3 Gun to USPSA.
  10. My PM-9 is a terrific pistol. I have several custom 1911s and the PM-9 will shoot groups right with the best of them.
  11. Wilson ETMs are working great in my Pointman. I thought I was having a a problem with the slide not locking back, turned out to be a problem with my left hand thumb.. No issues with the EMTs since I fixed the thumb.
  12. Thanks for the replies.. If it won't save room I'll save my money.
  13. I have the 771s now but was hoping for something that takes up less belt space. I'd like to get 5 on my belt but with 771s that last mag is way back there.
  14. I would like to switch to this mag pouch for SS but hate to give up on my Safariland 1-3/4" belt. Has anyone successfully mated the two? Thanks.
  15. I recently purchased a PM9. Excellent pistol, very accurate. Nice clean 4# trigger right out of the box. Using 4 different bullet types I have run about 400 rounds through it, still waiting for my first jam.
  16. I like the Double Alpha IDPA PDR.. Good retention, rides high and out of the way. After some dry fire work it is as fast as anything for an old guy like me. http://ads.midwayusa.com/product/268441/double-alpha-idpa-pdr-pro-holster-cz-sp01-kydex-black?cm_mmc=pf_ci_google-_-pf_ci_google-_-pf_ci_google-_-pf_ci_google&gclid=CPnKqqaqmsoCFdKFfgodEFQJqQ
  17. I am running KKM in a 34 & a 35.. Very nice barrels.
  18. This is interesting to me. Anybody else have some experience with Coolfire?

    Drill Cards

Predator Tactical has what you want. http://www.predatortactical.com/product/dr-performance-practice-deck/
  20. I watched it last night and thought it was really informative. Too much for me to absorb with one viewing so I'll be studying it section by section until I got it all. I bought the DVD version so my GM card might be in the mail, but I don't expect to see it any time soon.
  21. Good for you.. The first match will usually hook you and keep you coming back. As I remember, the 3rd or 4th match is the one that slams you to the wall and makes you grit you teeth and say " I can do better than this and I am going too" After that, money has no meaning, only "A"s count.
  22. I would expect good longevity from either one. Bring the one you shoot the best.

    JP glock magwell

I have JP Magwells on my 34 & 35, both are Gen 4. They fit perfectly so long as you do not use any of the backing straps.
  24. I am running a JP with a Burris MTAC 1x4 power scope. If I add a Burris Fastfire for short range work will it move me from Tactical Optics to Open under 3Gun Nation Rule? Thanks in advance for any help, I have read the rules but don't understand if the Fastfire is considered an optic. Tommy
  25. Nice write up. I've been thinking about making the change fro a Glock and you have added some good info..Thanks.
