This thread got me thinking about my 140 9mm open mags. I’ve been using Dawson bases & Grams guts, getting 23 just by slapping it all together. I just got a Cheely E2 grip, and was concerned the Dawson’s wouldn’t fit, so I swapped some Arredondo extended bases onto them and I now get 25. The one Grams 11mm base I have gave me 24.

This has been hashed before. USPSA is not tactical training. It’s not tactical practice. If you want to pursue the martial arts aspect of handguns, take an appropriate class from a respected trainer. Individual skills can be honed here, like the draw, grip, stance, reload. Put only a fool would go to a gunfight alone against 13 opponents with a handgun (or PCC ). I don’t shoot my duty gun in USPSA because I don’t want to mix my game with my life saving tool. Yes this game has drifted afar from its roots, and I’m fine with that. NASCAR drivers don’t haul ‘shine & run from Revenuers anymore either.

That’s why Jeff Cooper disavowed IPSC toward the end of his life. I remember reading the org’s response along the lines of “though we can cancel your membership, we can’t change history or your contribution to the sport” or similar words to that effect. That’s also why IDPA came to exist, but that’s a different argument.

Sig makes magwell grips that extend down below the grip frame to form a well. That’s the only thing I’m aware of.

I have not used those, but I have used the Everglades Ammo 124 JHP V2 and the RMR 115 JHP. They have a much more rounded profile & feed like FMJ bullets in my gun

What do your bullets mic at?

Pay your money, take your chances. Both sound great. I have the Gen 2 MPX, flawless so far. So much softer than my AR9 back up Frankenbuild, which has been 100% also.

10 years ago, I posted a photo in a thread I started about the SV mag catch that had a rib of metal around the shaft to keep it from going through the left side of the grip. I got a little too aggressive with a file, & I need another one of those mag catches. Does any one have one or idea where I could get one. SV doesn’t have them anymore. I’ll try put the pic up if my phone will cooperate

I actually didn't use the CMC pins either, I used KNS. When I turned the screws back just a smidge, the trigger reset just fine.

So does the new package from Taccom include the short stroke kit that cost $19 seperately, including the wave spring? The pic just shows the other bumper head thingy.

I found if the non-rotation retaining screws were overtightened, the trigger would not reset. Try loosening them a hair.

I have one too, but a previous owner cut the u-shaped pin into 2 rods, eliminating the center section. The rods walk out. Would love to find a replacement retaining u pin.

An SBR gas gun is a whole different thing. I could see benefits to that over a blow back. Nice!

It’s been limited legal for some time now. It won’t come close to the 40 numbers cause brass cost, and there’s no real advantage to it

I replaced the awful Gen 2 trigger with a Hiperfire 24c, changed out the stock to a Magpul MOE with a Taran Tactical buffer tube adapter, changed the mag release to the Odin large ambi buttons, added the TTI mag well, and TTI +10 base pads to a couple mags. I like larger lever ambi safeties, so changed those.

Better trigger, better stock, optic. Do you have a Gen 2 or the new Competition? Either one, a trigger upgrade would be beneficial. The Gen 2 sliding HK style stock looks tacticool, but sucks to cheek.

I like Starbuck Cafe Verona. Costco has it in Kcups. Costco Kona Whole Bean if I feel like grinding and brewing.

I started PCC with my SBR, and thought I had a cheater gun, until I tried it, for all the reasons mentioned above. Moving through the stage is definitely faster, but that isn't where most of the time is saved, its the splits and transitions. A blow back gun is just so different from what we usually compete with. Weight is our friend. I tried the ULW too, and it behaved very much like my SBR. Easy to point and carry, jumpy in the hand to shoot. Ironically, I found the same to be true for my 3gun rifle when I tried to build a 5 lb. .223. Just didn't settle down, and hard to keep from overdriving targets. My recent build is a 16" Foxtrot Mike barrel, Colt-style. Gonna add the Taccom 3 stage buffer, and work up the right load with fastish powder. I think that is the best we can hope for in a blowback. My MPX like it hot with slow powder, but its a gas gun. Probably a 13"-14.5" with a permanent muzzle device would be perfect.

The grip is interesting. All the pockets on the slide, not pleasing to my eye. I think different cuts up top that contrast from the grip would accent both better. As is, my first impression is a big chrome golf ball. But that is just aesthetics. If it shoots & holds up, that’s the most important thing.
