  1. This^. Different divisions are like a completely different sport.
  2. Does it take standard mag wells that would work on the gen 1 STI grip? I think that is the major hinderance of the Prodigy grip.
  3. A little off topic, is everyone's 507Comp reticles have the piece of the circle missing at 6 o'clock? When I got my green, we were messing with it at the club, and that was noticed. I see in the pics above it's missing, but never heard mention of it. More of a "horseshoe-dot" than "circle dot".
  4. Mine broke loose with a distinct snap, but had no loctite on them. I actually like the bushings SA uses, nice wide flats to keep them from rotating when loosening or tightening the screws, beveled where the mag slides past them.
  5. I think for the price of it, there are choices with a real jacketed bullet that perform similarly. A coated bullet load shouldn’t cost more than a FMJ.
  6. A holster for the STI Edge should fit as well. I have an old Blade-Tech for the Edge at home, I'll check tonight if my 5" Prodigy fits.
  7. Changing divisions is an excellent suggestion. Most divisions are different enough from each other, it's like shooting a different sport. Or try a different sport for a season. Trap/skeet, Steel Challenge, Precision rimfire. Great excuse to buy guns.
  8. I had this conversation with a GM recently, asking how long do you think we should do this. It is challenging to see your skills decline, and younger shooters getting even better. But I still enjoy it, and shoot every weekend there is a match. I even shot IDPA Sunday just to get to shoot. Not sure I'll do that again.
  9. That's Optics Planet. I took a chance and ordered a green one, great price and I'm not in a hurry. Fingers crossed.
  10. Guys around here are using Rune Tactical spring/followers and usually Henning extensions to get 24. I’m using Grams kits and Taylor Freelance extensions for 23, and they’ve lasted 3 years so far. I was thinking of setting one mag up for 24 rounds just to have.

Maybe like you I developed muscle memory to get that round out of the gun as quickly as possible, shooting 1911 and 2011 guns for so long. But, even the Timmies teach tap, rack, bang. 2nd strike is great if it goes off. If it doesn't, what a waste of time.
  12. In USPSA, yes. I don't think so in IPSC.

No serious competitor is "second striking" a round. We're running the slide and getting rid of it.
  14. I have not. I don't necessarily want "aggressive" grips, but not slippery. My favorite grips so far are the SSI Scales 2.0, the ones with the big holes cut out that look like a waffle pattern. The thickness and shape was perfect, and the holes allowed your hand to "sink" into them. I have 2 pairs in brass. SSI discontinued them, but came out with a grip in the same design, but made of a delrin-like polymer. I've also tried the Boss Components G10 grips, Armonov large and small, and the stock blue and black aluminum grips. The Armonov's were the slipperiest. They are coated with a think paint that negates the golf ball pattern. The palm swell shape is nice though.
  15. He hasn’t visited BE since 2019 according to his profile. I’d guess he’s gone. Glad I got one. I think he was working on a super-duper new optic that never materialized.
  16. The swell shape is great, the gripiness is lacking. They would be great if the golf ball pattern was more aggressive.
  17. I bolted a RHT to it, passed all inspections at Nats and In Sect.

What mag extensions are you using with the CZC mag well? What tubes, springs, and followers, and what capacity do you get? Thanks.
  19. I have a T-1000 Henning hanger, and it is amazing. Adjustable in any direction, and no ball-joint and set screw contraptions. It's pricey, but incredible. Pick the holster you like, and he makes adapters to connect it to his hanger for all the current hot holsters. The current must-have holster is the Everglades, but $300 is steep. I have an old DAA Racer, it's fine for me. I picked a T-800 of a prize table, and am using it for LO/CO. It's half the price of the T-1000, but is missing one direction of adjustment the more expensive hanger has.

I think the newest ones have the flat safties installed. I know there is always someone looking for the wide paddle safties on the classified. I had to order the model with wide paddles on both sides since I'm left handed. Got them from Eric Graffuel in France in less than a week.

Look for an Optic Ready Shadow 2. You'll then need to get the proper plate for the optic you want. They used to come with the wide paddle ambi safeties in the box, but I don't think they do that anymore. Or, if you get the regular Shadow 2, EGW has a plate that replaces the rear sight in the dovetail. In either case, you can start cocked and locked with any pistol in LO. I had my Shadow 2's milled for direct mount of the SRO. Love them.
  22. I shot with a Tanfo shooter at Nats with a 40 Limited Master shooting Syntech, and he keyholed all day long, so not a 9 issue alone.
