  1. CCI embraced the SPP 45acp early. No best method unfortunately, looking at every case is the only way. Someone with ingenuity will figure something out. Sorting SPP from LPP is a PITA!

    Welcome to the forum!
  3. Welcome to the forums, Ftc! Get out to watch/help at a match. Get the lay of the land and ask questions. Then...go for it.
  4. I've always enjoyed handgunning but, skeet and sporting have been my primary shooting sport pursuits for decades. I get 4-10 rounds in, per week. I added trap leagues in to the mix several years ago, too. I still prefer skeet and sporting clays, but the challenge of trap has been enjoyable.
  5. Disco.... or perhaps a damaged/bent/loose ejector?
  6. Thanks for the load info and recommendations guys. I am going to try some e3, if I ever see any again. Hard to locate these days. Basketball analogy, Steve. You know...scores every time/hard to beat.
  7. Yup. Bevel, smooth & POLISH the front edge of the disco just below the square sear pin hole...and I bet this resolves. Take a look at the trigger bow - disco interface while you are at it. Polish it up also, if needed.
  8. Great product & convenient to use. Like Braxton mentioned, pull slide stop...remove slide (intact)...depress guide rod...engage DP catch. You will thank yourself every time you disassemble. The only negative is the slim chance of the retention pin working loose or spring loaded arm becomes damaged and locks up the gun.
  9. Welcome to the forum, Judgekustoms! Good luck and enjoy it. I like the DP front sights too..and you can easily change out the fibers when they get dull or you just want a different contrast color.
  10. Welcome to the forum, JASracer!
  11. Now that is an interesting idea to help migrate the powder down. Somebody is thinking. Thanks, Joe.
  12. Alliant's Clay Dot is an excellent stand in for Hodgdon Clays. I switched over to CD after (another) shortage of HC about 7 or 8 years ago. The performance of CD is not a perfect match to HC, but it is darn close. Unfortunately, many of the widely used faster shotgun/pistol are still difficult to always find when you want.
  13. Nice job! Pretty smooth. Way better than I did.
  14. Wha? Was there more to this? I always disengage the safety after clearing the holster, but prior to horizontal..finger outside guard until on target. Should never be an issue as long as it is not disengaged prior to clearing the holster. Agreed?
  15. Sell itty bitty bottles of hickory smoked bacon lube with a cartoon pig on the itty bitty bottle and make (pinky at corner of mouth) mmmmmillions.
  16. Mobil 1 0w-40 with a small amount of Redline ATF in it...because they are always available in the garage. Not sloppy, but pretty wet. I do like Slide Glide Lite on high mileage pistols during warm months, though.
  17. I would be leery of snap cap dummy rounds that looked like live ammo.
  18. Welcome to the forum, Kayback! Great members with a ton a knowledge here. I am betting that you find the answers you need.
  19. Unfortunately, not over yet. I will consider the shortages over when I can obtain the specific powder(s) wanted...when I need them. I don't like making do with second or third options, but it has been necessary to keep shooting. Supplies have been a little better this summer, but you had better be quick when you see what you need. Many of the faster shotgun/pistol powders still require a hunt and some luck to obtain.
  20. Is it possible you could be using too much? I have used a light application of One Shot Case Lube (aerosol) for many years and never felt the need to clean it off. A quick spray into a Tupperware or a Ziploc containing a small batch of clean brass and shake, shake...load. I use it for all sizing dies..including carbide dies. Use just enough to smooth out operations.
  21. Thank you! IL. Sorry, thought I put that in. Will go back and include.
  22. SPP 45acp is the devil's work! It is a pain to sort... and heaven forbid one gets past when running a batch of LPP's. I used to trade the brass off, but gave up and now just load it. The performance difference between LPP & SPP 45acp is pretty small.
