  1. Tech FAIL. The bigger question is... Why did you guys bury someone on the range??? ?
  2. Ah, I see it now. Thanks! Great resource. Time to get some Dawson Para bases, then.
  3. This is exactly what I would like to know too. Yes. The 40's come with Clark/Para ramped barrels.
  4. Welcome to the forum, Mteegard! Enjoy your USPSA experience. I am going to go out on a limb and say that you likely know a fair amount about making accurate loads.
  5. Glad to have you with us, Tom. Welcome! Couldn't go low key huh? Go get 'em. Btw, great screen name. Merry Christmas to you too!
  6. We are waaaaay behind a customer like that! All the ammunition manuf. are selling everything they make, as fast as they can make it. Might be a year+ before powder supply catches up with demand.
  7. More time! More time to practice, prepare, travel to more matches, & compete.
  8. Your eyes can change over time. I know guys that have had fits trying to force a two eyed target focus. You need to determine what works. As of late, I am slower transitioning from close to medium distance targets in moderate light. When I should be changing to front sight focus, my stupid brain fights to maintain the full two eyed target focus. Ugh!
  9. OP, Thanks for the reminder at LAMR. Most of us old school guys still call it a "press check", Ultimo. No need to be hostile.
  10. Welcome to the forum, Innkeeper! Some area members should be along to help.
  11. I knew it sounded familiar! Nice.Beautiful area! Be safe, Jim.
  12. Hello, Katherine! All the best to you and your quest.
  13. Welcome to the forum, Jim! Hit the indoor range for the next few months, dress like a snowboarder, or dry fire only.
  14. Welcome to the forum, GuyMoto! Plenty of real world practical information in the General Reloading area here: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showforum=4 If you don't already have one...buy a copy of Lyman's 49th Reloading Handbook. Do you ride MX also?
  15. Amazing. Still looks ridiculous, though.
  16. What on God's green earth goes into that thing? It looks ridiculous.
  17. By design, it provides for mixed brass. The Aftec can give you that extra margin to reduce failures...providing you do your part with reloading quality control. Which, it sounds like you are. Go for it.
  18. I think the Aftec can give you a slightly better margin to reduce tension related issues. I also think traditional works just fine, if properly tuned for your gun and maintained.Ammunition inconsistency can & will bite you either way, however.
  19. Yup, I like to use a bit of OS lube with carbide dies too. Much smoother operation. I understand some will want to remove the lube entirely from loaded rounds. I've always strived to use as little as possible and the small amount of residue left has never been an issue for me...yet.

That is a nice surprise. Forgetfulness usually works the other way for me. Oh, I know I have plenty more. Nope. OUT?! How could I be out?
  21. Hello, DuCal. Welcome to the forum!
  22. You will want a NRA action pistol/Bianchi Cup contender to weigh in on this one, but I can offer tip(s) to consider. *Case length is very important. When you obtain a NEW batch trim them all to the exact same optimum length. *Shoot/keep batches together. *Weigh/inspect every bullet to maximize uniformity and weed out issues. *Be obsessive about (customized to gun) COL. Good luck! Forgot to add... it's taper crimp.
  23. Hi Mike, try some Hornady One Shot Case Lube spray already referenced after tumbling cases, but prior to resizing your pistol brass. Works well and no need to clean it off unless you are crazy with the spray can. Find yourself a smallish plastic tub (~12"x 12" works well) and put clean cases in to cover only the bottom. Spray and aggitate...spray and aggitate a wee more, if nec. Load away. I think you will like it. I like walnut/Nu Finish for media.
  24. Same daily morning routine...no deviation. Must have several cups of coffee every day. Gatorade/water mixed 40/60 for use all day. PBJ is The best for fueling up during a break and doesn't make me feel like hurling when some effort is required. Almonds are good too. I also bring a blue label Monster and a Clif Bar along to have if needed.
