  3. Hey folks, out of curiousity. Has anyone used the second barrel that is stamped "factory ammo only" and repurposed it? Did you modify it to have as a back up Major barrel? I have the 38 super V12 in this gun and would like to use it for something since i have it. I prob wont use it for minor loads, but heck, i might. Trying to gather ideas of what to do with it. Wanted to run 9mm major or minor through it but i understand that can be dangerous and silly at the same time. Has any of you found a good use for it? Use it as a back up barrel? It looks like the only difference is that one has more ports than the other. Perhaps open up that second port hole in the comp and have popple holes drilled into it? What did you do? Thanks! 4. Use factory mags. I have MBX mags and i refused to use them at the TN statr match. Could not rely on them. EAA makes a factory 171 and use henning base pads to make 140's. Cheaper and 100% reliable. Just put grams followers and springs and you're good to go. The MBX offers a 170 that holds 27 rounds and the EAA one will hold 26 if I put grams followers and springs in both. The spring and follower that comes with the MBX is mediocre. If you buy MBX, buy direct from MBX. I got mine through BSPS and i send videos of my probs with mags and he didnt get the hint that I would like them warrantied. The attitude was like "oh well, since you didnt buy direct, i can't help you". Buy factory. That's what JJ runs. I like my V12 GT and i'm with the guys when it comes to 38 supcercomp. But, this unica, without all the ports, looks like it would probably be a good 9mm major set up. Good luck Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

115 or 124 gr? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  9. Buy 38 super dies and the 380 conversion plate set up Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  10. Yes i tried AA7. I like it very much. On a 124 gr bullet, 10.6-10.8 gr works great. Going to settle on 10.7 the dot doesnt even leave the optic. I'm happy with it.

Running 10.8gr getting 179 PF using an RMR JHP in 38sc. Shoots flat. Dot doesnt leave the sight. Wouldnt go any higher than that. Work your way up to that. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  12. Have you resolved your problems? I'm running into same feed issue. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

  16. Just recently purchased one on 38 super. I was lookong to get one in 9mm but it is impossible for me to find it. Ordered 4 times in different places and they had to be cancelled because they werent actually on stock. Anyways.. the gold teams come with two barrels with comps. One for factory ammo and the other for non factory ammo(actually stamped on barrel) with 12 pop holes/popples/vents(whatever they are called). I use mine for competitiom use and just recently developed rounds with CFE to make Major. People do make major with the 9mm somehow. After working with the 38 super i feel its safer to use this casing to generate enough gas for the appropriate powders. With what i've learned so far i would recommend the 38 super. Like i said, i was looking for 9mm but very happy i got the 38. If you do get the 38 super, please please please get supercomp brass. Tried shooting my first match with it over this past weekend and had a hell of a time because of the rimmed 38 super(not supercomp) brass. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  17. Was thinking about gettinf 3n38. My buddy wants to buy that too. Split hazmat. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  18. You try cfe by any chance? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  19. Hey everyone! Still in the midst of developing a 38 super load for my Tanfoglio open gun thats a V12. I find myself going much higher than the max load data posted in my reloading book just to make major with CFE. It took 7.8gr to make 168-169 PF. Find myself needing more gas but i'm a bit hesitant. The max in my book ranges from 6.4gr to 6.8gr. I will be exploring some more popular powders that produce more gas, dont worry there. Have any of you used CFE for your V12 or even V8? The pop holes seem tp bleed out soooo much gas. I'm looking to step up to 8.0 for more gas generation. Brass is looking fine at 7.8 gr. The only other powder i have currently is AA5(an abundance of it). Will be looking at autocomp next. Thanks! Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

  21. I'm glad you posted this. I'm on the hunt for CFE load data with RMR 124 gr JHP. Will follow this thread Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

  24. Wanted to follow up with you all. I decided ultimately on the 38 super. Came across a deal i couldnt refuse and the info and concerns you provided were greatly appreciated. I'm excited for open now.. now should i get my 9mm mbx mags changed out or should they be good? [emoji14] Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  25. ..also... i do appreciate everyone's input suggesting the 38SC. The brass is obviously the main reason why many would want to go 9mm M. "If you cant afford the gas dont buy the Ferrari!" Yada yada i know. But $150+ for 1k brass vs 5-7k for That being said, still on the hunt for the gun. Looks like i may have to wait until more comes in. But i would appreciate the assistance in finding it. Like i said before i'm not ignoring your concerns. Thanks Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
