  1. i'm thinking of switching from my standard Cmore to one of the fangled smaller ones. aiming to reduce weight at the top end. have any of you done this. i see the smaller dots are more popular. i want something smaller, lighter, and a big window. was thinking about getting a holosun sometime(i like their products). suggestions? thanks in advance Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  2. sometime you may run into bad brass. this happened out of my Tanfo open gun. this was with 9.7 gr AA7 and 115 fmj. i have to load short oal of like 1.115-1.12 . "Ammoload" was the headstamp Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  3. thanks for the fast feedback. lube: i'm using Lucas gun oil. not too much. the A7 cakes up bad on feed ramp and at trigger bar even places that i dont place any oil. i often forget that burn rate doesnt necessarily correlate to performance in the form of pressure building it seems. i saw that AA5 was close to the others mentioned so thought it would be worth trying. see pic (the colors represent the brand of powder, not danger level) i would like to check out Silhouette sometime. i saw a couple people saying they like it. any of you have experience with that? i was also thinking about Shooters world. do you all like WAC alight or should i go for HS6? it seems HS6 is an often stated powder. i tried CFE out of my 38 supercomp V12 but hated it because it vibrated my teeth when i shot it. any other advice or suggested neighborhood of start points with all the mentioned powders would be greatly appreciated too. thanks all! 4. hey all. i'm trying to use the powders that i have left. going to start to develop some loads with 124 gr RMR bullets FMJ or some blues with AA7. anyone got any suggested loads? shooting through a Tanfo open gun 6 inch V4. i'm running towards the end of the AA7 before i try something like Sillouette or other suggested powders. any suggestions? AA7 mucks up my gun a lot :/ tanfo open guns dont like to run dirty i have like 4 ot 5 lbs of AA5. anyone have any experience with this powder for 9mm Major? i can't find much on the interwebs about people using it or experience with it. thanks in advance! 5. it will be a while. but i do want both Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  6. thank you all for your feedback! i got an atibal 1-6. and also going to consider getting a burris RT6 also for my other AR and swap back and forth to see what i like for my different purpose rifles thanks everyone! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  7. okay. awesome. makes me feel confident in looking at 1-6. thanks! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  8. cool. i'm starting to lean towards burris RT-6 a lot of positive feedback based on looking though forums. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  9. okay cool. well what i guess i really want to get a consensus on is 1-6 or 1-8? is 1-6 plenty or get a 1-8? Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  10. cool i'll check it out too. thanks! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  11. so it looks like 1-6 is in the lead so far. is it because it has potential to be better 1x clarity? Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  12. are you satisfied with the scope? i cannot find much about it. looking through forums, some people like it over the strike eagle 1-8. what made you choose 8x vs 6x? Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  13. hi i'm trying to get my AR ready for future introduction to 3 gun. there are so many choices with scopes! need advice. just trying to get my feet wet so i'm not looking to spend thousands on glass. just something entry level. my rifle is built but needs optic. 1-6 or 1-8? i thought that 1-8 would be the way to go but so many seem to use 1-6. First focal or second focal plane? i imagined first would be great but most seem to be second. why do you prefer second FP? pro's and con's. i know what they both mean, but how does it effect you in a match setting between the two performance wise? i dont think i'm going to be hitting 400+yard shots anytime soon but i want something capable. i narrowed my choices down to the Burris RT6, Strike eagle 1x8, Atibal xp8. i might hit up the classifieds here to see if anyone has one. those scopes are in the price range i seek. sure i can go more expensive . "buy once cry once" am-i-right? but like i said entry level. thanks for your advice! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks, you know of any located in USA? Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  15. So I had my slide stroked and took extra off so I can get the distance I wanted plus the thickness of the brass shock buffer. Performed great and feels great. I like the timing now. I noticed when I got home that I cracked my bras shock buffer. I know there is another buffer out there for the cz75 and I tried it before with an sp01 in 40 cal but it got chewed up by the end of a match. Any ideas? I kind of have to keep a buffer now. I know that buffers are a disposable thing but I'd like them to last a short while or so. Anyone tried the softer polymer buffers recently? Do they hold up better than they used to 3 years ago? Any idea what I might be able to do with or do to the brass ones? Going to buy a couple of each but was wondering what kind of input anyone can provide. Thanks! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  16. After I did the squeeze they worked better. I still didn't trust them. I lost capacity in all of them. I saw adrian at a match. I left him a note that told him to put the mags in the trash where they belong. And I also said Merry Christmas and a smiley face. I didn't have anything nice to say to his face after months of trying to get a resolution. I still have one 140 left. It is a last resort mag or a steel match mag. But it works better than ever. With enough squeezing and stuff I was able to get thr mag to fill in the grip and not jiggle around as much with reliable feeding. I'm using a grams spring and followed with I too. I still won't trust it at a match though. Stick with factory mag tubes Don't buy any more MBX mags. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  17. Hey everyone. Been in open div with tanfo open and stepping into 2011 open world. Lots to learn. Been looking at CK thunder in 9mm major and ran across this company Blackdog Gunworks. I know there are many builders out there but this guy seems to makes of slightly less cost open guns with an assortment of recognizable parts. Anyone have experience with them? If so, what are your thoughts? Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  18. You guys need factory 170's i have two with the euro basepad that JJ used at world shoot. I load them to 28 reloadable and they have grams kit. I'm selling my tanfo gold custom set up. These mags are 100% reliable. Never had to worry like when i was using mvx Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  19. Anyone try the new gen 2 sti tubes? You like them compared to old style? Why or why not? Thanks Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  20. I had purchased some for my Tanfo Gold Custom. Ended up with tons of misfeeds because of a couple lemons. Tried all sorts of load variations with suggestions from Adrian, owner of MBX. Adrian wouldnt replace them because i bought from Ben Stoeger Pro shop rather than direct from mbx. He and i went back and forth for months. The mags i had bought werent even cut properly. So, i'm out a few hundred bucks because he refused to back up his product. I'm not the only one either, from what i learned. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  21. Besides MBX(i wont do business with them anymore), what mags would be best for a 2011 CK arms 9mm open gun? Going to order one soon. Brands? Experience? Pricing? I'm coming from tanfo and new to the 2011 world Thanks Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  22. Did you get an open gun. I posted my Gold Custom 38sc for sale in the classifieds. I would personally stay away from MBX for tanfoglio guns. Long story. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  23. Fwiw, i just recently bought the mr bullet feeder die from DAA. It is amazing and simple design. I paired it with a mr bullet feeder powder through expander and was even more blown away. I trashed my hornady die. If the rcbs fails on you, i hope it doesnt, get the mr bullet feeder drop assembly+die. You just place your spring tube right into it and go. You have the get the mr bullet feeder powder through expander for the hornady too to get the best benefit. Best bullet feed i've ever encountered so far Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  24. Dont hate me for asking this. Only asking because a guy was having probs with his tanfo 40 cal at a match and all it was were dirty magazines. I'm sure you've cleaned the inside of the mag tube at the top really well. if you haven't, be sure to do that real quick to see if it makes a difference. Like for real after we cleaned the inside of his mag tubes real good, he was golden. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  25. Following. I'm using a slidewinder or whatever it's called. Had to grind it to fit. I'm interested to Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
