Can we all get some clarification to the measurements from with you NROI or RO folks?
"5.2.5 Where a Division specifies a maximum distance that a competitor’s handgun and equipment may extend away from a competitor’s belt, the measurement shall be taken in the following manner:
— Perpendicular to the belt at the point of attachment to the belt
— from the inner most surface of the belt equipment (against the pants/body) to the closest point of the grip of the handgun and/or any reloading device."
I notice that people all around state that it's 2" from the inner belt no matter what, and some folks stating it's 2" from the inner belt to the grip.
From my understanding, the two measuring points is not an "either - or", but instead, "AND". Measuring from the inner portion of the inner belt AT POINT OF ATTACHMENT. .AND.. from that point, MUST be within two inches measuring to the NEAREST POINT OF THE GRIP. Yes, I have seen the illustrations in the rule book and that complies.
I'm seeing videos all over Internet of shooters posting their highlight runs(amateurs and pros) and quite a few of them are obviously in violation of the rule if I'm reading that rule correctly. I'm sure it's not intentional or probably measured in an incorrect manner.
What are some of your thoughts?
