    Thumbrest

A local shooter has a thumbrest that replaces the trigger pin and sticks out about an inch on the left side of the frame. it's just like an oversized pin and has no other shape to it. It might be cool, but it wouldn't work with my kydex holster, so I'm leaving mine without a thumbrest.
  2. Your rounds could be too short as well. What was your original overall length? The shorter the round, the longer the gap the bullet has to jump to get into the chamber.
  3. Case gauge your rounds. Revert everything to stock and add only one aftermarket part at a time. I've never had trouble with .40 caliber Glocks. I have experience with G23, G24, G35 with factory, KKM, and Barsto barrels.
  4. I just got my Elite II back (bought it in 2002, sold it 6 years ago, bought it back). It is a cool gun. I'm going to shoot it in production next weekend. Picked it up for the same price I sold it for, $700. With 7 mags and a holster. A good friend basically just held onto it for me and never shot it.
  5. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I ordered one of his holsters 7 years ago, got it within two months, and I've been very happy with it. I even have an extra one I picked up here off the forum for a G35. It makes me sick to hear these bad experiences, and I've heard them for years. It's too bad that this type of guy exists in our community.
  6. Too bad you cannot get 135's. Keep trying. I used the Rainier 135gr like Chuck. I needed 8.7gr Alliant Power Pistol to make power factor and to get the gun to shoot flat. I also used a 9 lb spring (STI 2011). This all depends on your comp and slide weight. You only have to make 160PF. That'll save you from pushing pressures too high.

    24 or 35?

I would not want another Glock 24 unless the slide was lightened. I'd bet this one shoots and cycles really nice.
  8. I'm late to the party, but my vote is for the Dillon SDB. PowerFactor Show, Episode 117.
  9. Hi LincolnOsiris. Check out www.powerfactorshow.com. This ongoing video series is geared toward educating new shooters such as yourself. We're on YouTube and Facebook.
  10. This will not bump you from Limited to Open. It is even legal in Production. Look at Appendix D4, 21.7.
  11. Weighting the hem would be illegal in IDPA when drawing from an ankle or inner thigh rig. Good thing this is not an IDPA discussion.
  12. It's what Ben has been using for, what, 7-8 years?
  13. It's not a new model. At least 8 years old. IIRC, it's a Brigadier slide with night sights? This was before they had rails on the dust cover.
  14. Double stack. Same mags as the 92 or 96. Just has a straight backstrap. Also has a dovetailed front sight which is a plus.
  15. I'm really surprised by all of this. I've been checking the USPSA website for two months looking for new rules or rulings. Last time there were changes, a new rule book was sent out ("USPSA Handgun Competition Rules, January 2008, with BOD Approved Ammendments through July 2010") Are we really expected to comb through the BOD Meeting Minutes and various threads here on BE Forums in order to determine what final version of the rule changes are in effect? I had just assumed that they were not in effect yet since I couldn't even find a PDF of the new version. Sounds like I need to read JA's column in the new Front Sight.
  16. Have you had several other shooters try it out? Must rule out the shooter before spending a bunch of money.
  17. Probably more like 10-32. Just take the brass plug into the hardware store (ACE, Lowe's, Home Depot) and find a hex head cap screw that will fit. Will cost you $0.20 or so.
  18. I've got an A card in Limited 10. I've shot custom 6" STI's, Glock 24, and Glock 35. I've tried the 165's and they're fine, but I prefer to standardize with 180's.
  19. Well, I am remembering my M13. More of a tank than the single stack version.
  20. Why? They're neat and collectible, but HEAVY. Not to discourage her, but man, that thing is a tank.
  21. USPSA 8.7.2 Competitors are prohibited from using any guns or gun replicas as sighting aids while conducting their inspection (walkthrough) of a course of fire. I wouldn't bother bringing a SIRT to the range on match day. You can dryfire the real gun in the safety area. You cannot use the SIRT anywhere on the range during a match.
  22. It is basically the same as a standard 92FS, but it has a rail. You're not going to see a lot of them, but if it's all you have, go for it. Our national champion in USPSA production shoots a 92. Is it competitive enough? Sure. If you practice with it you'll do fine. I shot one for three years. Now, you asked about IPSC (outside the US). Not sure about that since their rules have deviated from the US over the past 5 years, but as far as I know, the 92 meets the requirements for IPSC production division as well.
  23. Frame itself is the same. The ejectors are caliber specific. It might work if you don't exchange the ejector housing, but not going to be ideal.
  24. Recently started shooting IDPA with my G19. It was my first gun purchased in 1998, one of the first Gen3's produced. I'm really having fun with it. Now I want a G23 to go with it!
  25. ^^^This. Every few years I pop a green fiber in the gun just to check...I'm going back to red again. Now for an optic, I prefer a green dot to a red dot. Weird, eh?
