  1. +1 Powder Valley, get a few of your fellow shooters to go in with you to help cover the hazmat and shipping cost and "stack them high and deep".
  2. I have the Oakley SI Flak 2.0XL with clear, TR22 and TR45 lenses. This combo handles indoor, cloudy and sunny conditions. Very happy with them.
  3. When I did mine I also installed the BCG Pro Series disco, I felt that you couldn't go wrong installing all the Brazos components. I wasn't disappointed.
  4. This is where we've gotten to "Assembled in USA" not "Made in USA", what a shame.....
  5. That's the sweetest looking "Vampire" I have ever seen, congrats!
  6. Had the same problem with my Trojan, I replaced it with an Ed Brown memory groove beavertail (it's much wider than the STI in the webbing area between your thumb and index finger) and I replaced the thumb safety with an EGW HD, no more issues with me riding high on the grip anymore. Minor fitting are required for both.
  7. +1 on the Brazos trigger kit, dropped it in on my Edge a few years back without any fitting at all.
  8. I started off with an STI Edge in .40 and started tweaking it right off the bat trying different things to see what I liked and what seemed to fit my grip (DVC stippled grip, Wilson high ride ambi safety, etc...) had that for about a year and then got an Akai Barbarian. What I found out is that there's a big difference in quality from a stock STI to a custom gun. Now have an Akai with a PT EVO steel grip which makes the gun heavier but less felt recoil (really like it). Along the way I have found out that I like flat triggers more than curved (I seem to get a more consistent trigger pull) and that I like the Nitro Fin thumb rest. I thought the fin was gimmicky until I tried it. If I had the money to spare and was just getting started, given what I know now, I would get an Atlas Titan or Nemesis, they seem to have all the bells and whistles that I have found to prefer on my guns. Oh, and add in the Dillon 1050 (although the 650 is what I have and is sufficient for my needs)....
  9. I had the PT Evo grip hard chromed with a matte finish to match the frame on my Akai and it didn't dull the edges at all, I'm very happy with the end result.
  10. I started with a 550 and learned how to reload on it, after about a year I had the 650 itch just like you. I pulled the trigger and got a 650 and added a Mr Bullet feeder, I look back now and say that was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. I love the fact that I can crank out about 900 in an hour, I'd rather spend the time shooting not reloading. Just do it!
  11. Thanks for the feedback, especially the comment about a shooter moving from the aggressive micro pockets to them, that is what I was wanting to hear before buying it.

    New reloader

Here's a load I like for my .45 5" single stack: Precision Delta 230 gr FMJ, 4.6 gr of Bullseye, 1.260", CCI 300 LPP. It makes 175PF and is soft shooting.
  13. Has anyone tried the new SVI grip "Infinity Billet Metal Grip - Machined Textured- 187"? I would like to know what your thoughts are of it. Thanks, Clark
  14. Oakley SI ballistic M frame 3.0 with Prizm lens array (TR22, TR45 and Clear lenses)
  15. Here's a great YouTube video of how to mount the cube to a hat:
  16. From Dawson 140mm tube $54, basepad $32.5 then add Grams follower and spring from Shooters Connection $19.
  17. Here's my 147gr load data for several powders that I use with my STI 9mm Trojan: OAL 1.150", CCI500 primer, Berry's 147gr PRN Silhouette Avg Velocity 4.3 886 4.5 929 Preferred 4.7 976 4.9 1,035 AutoComp Avg Velocity 3.6 823 3.8 854 4.0 904 Preferred CFE Pistol Avg Velocity 3.8 889 4.0 935 Preferred 4.2 967 4.4 998
  18. I started with the 550, excellent machine to learn with and easy changeovers but I wanted more. Upgraded to a 650 with the case feeder and Mr Bullet feeder and am very happy with the setup, I don't have a lot of time to spend reloading so producing ~900 in an hour works for me.
  19. I'm very happy with mine, I've had it for over a year with no issues at all, I only use it during practice sessions. Got it at CED.
  20. I've loaded many of these with HP38. OAL1.150", 4.4 gr., it makes 131PF through my Dan Wesson PM9.
  21. OK, if you come across some HP-38 I did run a small trial with it and 115's: 4.8 1,095 avg 5.0 1.125 avg (this is what I ended up loading to)
  22. I haven't loaded any 115's with BE-86 but I have loaded 124's (Berry's PRN), OAL was 1.150", here's my chrono results I settled in on the 4.8 as it gave me a PF of 132 and was accurate: BE-86 Powder Gr Avg Velocity 4.8 1,063 5.0 1,094 5.2 1,139 5.4 1,150
  23. I started reloading with the Lyman reloading manual and a Dillon 550 along with the Dillon 550 reloading DVD. I started with 9mm dies, case gauge, caliper, scale, primer flip tray and a vibratory case cleaner and media separator.
